Living together is bliss for Sam Flynn and Nathan Walker, but things never stay quiet for long in Stonebridge. On the night of Sam’s twenty-ninth birthday, the much-hated mayor of Stonebridge is found dead at his home. Sam suspects foul play, but just as he starts investigating the list of possible culprits, Nathan gets word of a new undercover assignment—one that includes a mysterious, sexy new partner. Though Sam struggles to trust Nathan and control his jealousy during Nathan's absence, the stress makes a return to the bottle seem not only tempting, but inevitable—especially when Nathan starts avoiding his calls.

Yet Nathan's fidelity isn't the only thing on Sam's mind. A visit from the mayor's ex-assistant puts Sam in the line of fire, and he’s drawn into a complex web of duplicity spanning back to the night of his parents’ accident. Sam’s journey to uncover the truth about what really happened threatens to unravel long-held beliefs about his parents and puts his relationship with Nathan to the ultimate test.

About the author

Maggie Kavanagh

Maggie Kavanagh writes gay romances that explore flawed, human characters finding love. A recent Yankee transplant to Los Angeles, she's still a New Englander at heart. She went to graduate school for English literature and reads and writes voraciously, whenever she can get a moment alone. You can find her in the wee morning hours typing away with coffee at hand and cat in lap, happily embodying the romance writer cliché.

While she focuses mainly on contemporary romance, don’t be surprised if a historical or supernatural tale slips into the mix, as she’s always eager to discover different genres. More fiction is forthcoming soon, so stay tuned!

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

It’s Sam’s twenty-ninth birthday, and it’s during his party that it’s announced the Mayor has died of a heart attack. No biggie since there’s really no love lost between the town and the somewhat shady Mayor. It’s the phone call Nathan receives from his boss the following day about a new assignment, though, that causes a stir with Sam.

Now, in the first book, Double Indemnity, Maggie Kavanagh explains how deeply Nathan gets into character when he’s undercover—so if he has to sleep with others to get the info he needs, he does. This particular case involves a gentlemen-only club, in which the local law enforcement suspects prostitution with underage kids. Nathan is supposed to go in with a partner and check it out. At first, Sam takes it like a trooper that Nathan may have to sleep with other people while undercover, but Sam’s insecurities and little red flags get the better of him.
And I have to admit, I sided with Sam on this one.

I’m sorry…job or no job…you just don’t do that when you’re in a relationship. And when Sam finally talks to Nathan about how much it really bothers him, I’m so glad that Nathan didn’t brush it off. Still, Nathan has a job to do, but they come to an agreement on how Nathan will work out not having sex with others while undercover, and still be convincing enough to get the job done. Sam seems to be okay after the talk—until he meets Nathan’s hunky partner, Eric…

In the meantime, Sam is doing follow-up work on the death of the town’s Mayor, and the plot thickens as one thing after another starts to fall into place as to why Sam’s parents’ death no longer is considered an accident.

Maggie Kavanagh has become an auto-read-author for me. She weaves a very intriguing story that is full of twists and turns and again, I was surprised by who the real culprit was. The Stonebridge Mysteries series just gets better and better. I really love these books, and Blind Spot is another welcome addition to my faves library.

This was a fast paced and sexy conclusion to Sam and Nathan's story. The book starts off with them in a good place. That is quickly uprooted when Nathan is sent back to under cover work. Sam can't find peace with it and his sobriety is put to the test. These two go through a rough patch but I liked how it was handled and I thought it felt realistic. I REALLY liked a scene where one MC is going through serious emotional stuff and the other refuses to do a sex scene because it's not the appropriate time. Man I wish we would see that more often instead of the "I will screw your problems better" thing we see so much in books (giant pet peeve of mine). So kudos to this author for NOT going there.

Part of the story is a mystery but it doesn't over shadow the romance. We see all the side characters in parts of the story and everything ends in a good place for everyone. There are two new characters who are introduced and I have to say I would love to see them have their own spin off series.

This was a wonderful and fitting end to the series. Loved it!!!

And I would love to read more by this author, but it looks as if she has vanished.

I loved this installation, my favorite of the series.

Sam is still flawed, but that's why I love him. Nathan is his perfect match.

The mystery was very good, and surprised me; but this book wasn't all sleuthing: there is relationship development.

I also liked who comes to the rescue at the end, well done!

Teeny, tiny caveat. I'm not sure how realistic Nathan's undercover work is. But hey, this is fiction.

Dang, I was so close to giving this one 5-stars (I hate that GR doesn't give us the half-star option)... but, there was ONE small detail that kept me from doing so...

Well, believe me when I say Ms. Kavanagh has gotten the hang of writing an action scene and I am pleased to say that the BDSM aspect ended up working out very well for me! You really got a better feel for Sam and Nathan's relationship and boy was it HOT!!! This book was an entertaining, fast read because I didn't once lay it down and get distracted by RL... I look forward to reading more by this author in the future! :D

I really enjoyed Sam and Nathan here.
While Sam falling of the wagon ticked me off a bit, it was more realistic than him just up and quitting without ever having a relapse.
It was good that they hit a couple bumps in the road, and came out stronger.
The mystery was a little anticlimactic.
Tim--hard to suspend belief, but nice.
Nicely wrapped up the series.

After reading the first one in this trilogy, I skipped straight to this one (because I wanted to see how things were resolved between Sam and Nate, and I have no patience, LOL). I enjoyed this -- a solid 4 stars!

What I really liked:
~ Sam -- he's so earnest and likable. He tries so hard to make it past his past, his pain, his day-to-day issues. I found him really sympathetic.
~ The mystery -- I thought it was quite well done, and even though I suspected the 'bad' person early on, I still enjoyed seeing how it played out and discovering the details. I also thought the overall arc (books 1-3) was done quite well.
~ How Nate responded mid-way through the book --

What was okay (but maybe a little frustrating):
~ Nate -- both in the first book and this one, I thought he wasn't as strong as I wanted him to be for Sam. It's not that I don't think Nate has the right to make mistakes, as well, it's just that Sam had better reasons (I guess?) for his struggles, and therefore, I wanted Nate to grow up and be a better partner for Sam more quickly than he did throughout the book.
~ Nate's job --
~ The ending --

All in all, I enjoyed this book and the first one. I'll probably even grab the second one eventually. :)

Blind Spot is the third and concluding installment of The Stonebridge Mysteries series, and Maggie Kavanagh has packed it with suspense, romance, sex and drama.
The story starts with Sam's 29th birthday party - and the surprise news of another death in Stonebridge. It is this that leads Sam into another investigation, which becomes more complex and personal than he could have previously imagined.
Maggie Kavanagh carefully plans out a plot which keeps her reader engrossed in the developments and as in Inner Sanctum she keeps the identity of the perpetrator as a well-guarded secret.
Perhaps one of the most important aspects of Blind Spot is the contrast between Sam and Nathan's sexual preferences and the emotional vulnerability each man reveals as the story progresses. The trust issues between them have been an ongoing theme throughout the series, and in Blind Spot we are left doubting whether their relationship can actually survive.
In this installment I cared more about Sam and Nathan than before. I think this is because Maggie Kavanagh allows them both to be flawed, needy and full of remorse. This is certainly a more difficult journey for Sam than it is for Nathan, but it is also not without its high points and happy tears!
I have really enjoyed The Stonebridge Mysteries and Blind Spot is a perfect conclusion. A series I would highly recommend!

Blind Spot is the perfect conclusion to the amazing Stonebridge Mystery series. I've been in love with Sam and Nathan since the very beginning and seeing their story come to an end is bitter sweet. The story line is dynamic, the characters are compelling and the mystery is captivating; full of unexpected twist and turns. Maggie Kavanagh's ability to consistently invigorate her writing style guarantees a fresh reading experience that never fails to impress. Stonebridge Mysteries is a truly outstanding series. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend that you give it a try. As sad as I am to turn the final page on Sam and Nathan's story, I'm eagerly anticipating where Kavanagh's next adventure will take me.

Seriously? You had to threaten Sam's ride on the wagon? You just had to break him, didn't you? Oh wait that is all part of the sequel process, I guess. But Sam? He has been through so much. You just had to break him more. Well, at least, you fixed him in the end. Speaking of ends, please don't let this be the end of Sam and Nate's adventures.

I enjoyed the first book, the second was ok. By this stage I don't like Sam. I'm not keen on the intrepid lone amateur sleuth. Adrien English is endearing when he does it, Sam is smug. Nathan is a cardboard cutout of a boyfriend, I can't tell you one meaningful thing about him, he's not a fleshed out character, he's there to orbit around the egotistical planet of Sam.

I think I'm done.

Did NOT like the end. What is it with criminals bragging/confessing/telling all? When did that become a thing?
