Bryson is a ladies man by nature. And why wouldn’t he be? He’s young. He’s single. He’s sexy. And he’s fresh off of a record-breaking second year of professional basketball with his whole career ahead of him. So when he meets Kennedy while interviewing for a new stylist, of course he wastes no time going after her. Until he finds out she’s engaged. And even though he knows how wrong it is to be so damn attracted to a taken woman - has already learned his lesson when it comes to taken women - he can’t help but be drawn in by her captivating persona of innocence mixed with a hint mystery. But when Kennedy finds herself in the same predicament, caught completely off-guard by Bryson’s charm and sex appeal, the line between attraction and distraction suddenly becomes a blur. Who’s really the distracted one? ( This book is a standalone, but features secondary characters from the Attractions & Distractions series as well as The PreGame Ritual with tiny spoilers.)

I'm a little on the fence about this, because it started off strong, but started losing me about halfway. I did like it, even though I'm not fond of the cheating trope, but the way it was done here didn't make me mad.
I'm rating it a 3.5, but rounding up to 4 for the steam because that was good.
This was a cute story of a professional NBA player and his stylist falling in like, but the problem is…she has a fiancé ….now the couple will have to navigate their way through a few obstacles in order to find their forever.
No, nope mmh mmh!! Ok, so I'll get right to it. The first half of this book was literally sêxüåł harassment. Work place, employee/boss sêxüåł harassment. A #metoo movement. 1st of all, why are you touching her? Why are your hands on her hips. She's engaged, she's your employee. I did not like Bryson. His behavior was super predatorý. Ok. Let's break it down. 1) she bends over to get something from the fridge, Bryson literally had his 🍆 pressed to her äsś. 2) she's helping him pick out clothes as his stylist, he strips butt naked in front of her. No warning, no heads up. 3) he kissed her…multiple times. 4) he sent her a nude. Unsolicited nude/dick pic. 5) he trapped her in a bathroom at a strip club and ate her out, while her man was outside. I could go on and on cause there were myriad of other instances. The thing that was the biggest eye roll for me was when she showed up drunk to his place. Yes, she's throwing herself at him, but all of a sudden you have such high morals, you didn’t fool around with her? I mean I'm glad he didn't while she was drunk, but what about allllll the other inappropriate advances you made at her 🙄🙄
I didn't like either Bryson or Kennedy, but more so Bryson. Although Kennedy has said no and called out Bryson multiple times, she low-key liked it. She was taking her sexual frustration with Bryson out on her man…who also wasn't shîť…whenever they were getting it in.
But I will say the last 25% of the book was pretty good, well written. But I wouldn't expect less from Ms. Warren, cause she's a good ašs writer and for that I'll give the book a 2.3⭐
Though I love Ms. Warren, this book did not do it for me.
I'm on the fence with this book..It had potential but fell flat to me. After reading Miles' story I expected this one to be better. Bryson was a certified fboy, a famous NBA player, that had only deeply cared about his friend, but she happened to be taken and seemingly uninterested. For some reason that situation was brought up, but not addressed. That said he had no trouble moving on from girl to girl. Until he meets Kennedy, his new stylist whom he happens to be extremely attracted to. Kennedy however, is engaged but less than excited about it considering she never wears her ring. The more time he spends with her the more he feels like he wants to make her his. Kennedy is content with her safe relationship with her fiance Landon and does her best to tamp down the feelings, the fire that seems to be between her and Bryson. They seem to have a natural chemistry and both enjoy each other. Kennedy is walking a fine line and is distraught when she steps slightly over the line and recommits herself to Landon and distances herself from Bryson. Landon was fake though and turned out to be the real fboy. I wanted to like this story, however there were some unfinished story lines. I felt like Kennedy and Bryson's story fell flat and was predictable. The Landon storyline was also very predictable and then it just abruptly ended with no confrontation, it was odd. How did Nicole end up pregnant when they used protection, it seemed like she did something but it was never exposed. How was their coparenting situation? It felt like some closure was needed. Definitely not on par with previous books from Ms Warren.
I enjoyed both of these books. Bryson and Miles. Let’s keep it real you left is trying to figure out if the baby is really Bryson’s and how did she really get pregnant? The conversation Nicole had with Kennedy sounded like she was able to trick him. Please write a follow up go both brothers.
This book was actually bad. Like... I feel like I have read books where everyone seemed to hate the FMC and MMC, and I would love them down and defend them with my dying breath, but guys... are we okay? I feel like I'm in an alternate universe bc there is simply no way people find the two of them together as cute. This woman started pissing me off as soon as I peeped she wasn't excited about being engaged. Bc why are you getting the ick from the man you agreed to marry, but only wanna like him when you get dick. And when you do want dick, it's usually bc you were busy thinking abt the dude you were gonna work for.
SPEAKING OF THE DUDE YOU WERE GONNA WORK FOR.
That man is the most insufferable book boyfriend I have ever had the displeasure of reading abt. Every time he opened his mouth, I wanted to pull a Leslie and smack him upside the fucking head. You know, there are a lot of things that could have happened to make up for the shitty chemistry between them. Like the sex. The sex was so mid. The buildup was non-existent. And believe me, I know it's a shorter book, but even short books hold more substance than this. I also can't stand romances built on infidelity. Like come onnnn.
BUT YEAH BRYSON WAS INSUFFERABLE AND SO WAS KENNEDY SO HONESTLY A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN. She's a better woman than I, I won't lie. Proposing in the middle of me changing a nappy is absolutely diabolical.
I feel like she also never answered how this mf got Nicole pregnant when he swore tf down he discarded the condoms himself so they never pulled some crazy shit, and yes, obviously the condom can break. But like... You couldn't see it through with the whole Nicole was scamming storyline, so I could at least see Kennedy drag that hoe?
Last but not least... "I knew I was gonna marry you when I got a taste of it the night at the club" was absolutely grounds for me to solidify my decision on giving this shit 2 stars. Only bc I know there are worse books I have read that deserved the one star more than this one.
This could have been finished in a day... it was so bad I finished it after a week. Tragic 7 days of my life.

I did not really like Bryson. How you a hoe and pressed at the same time. I didn't really like him in Attractions & Distractions either. I didn't like the idea of him assuming the woman really wanted him, despite her having a man, because if she didn't she wouldn't answer the calls or texts or look at him in a way or whatever. Even though it's true, his pushiness was disrespectful.
I wasn't really feeling, or rather believing the chemistry between Kennedy and Bryson. It seemed very superficial.
Not really much else. I'm absolutely not done with this author. This just wasn't my favorite in her arsenal.
I loved this book from beginning to end. Before anything began to swiftly develop I could feel the chemistry rise off the pages between Bryson and Kennedy. Have you ever had a love for someone that aches deep in your core without them that’s the kind of love that they shared. Landon was so wack and shady I was glad he secrets came to the light. I was able to overlook Bryson one little indiscretion because Nicole new voodoo or something to pull of that magic trick.... But nevertheless I was pretty amazed by this phenomenal read and definitely gonna read what’s next
Bryson is a trip. He gave Kennedy a job as his personal stylist. He took one look at her and decided that he wanted her for himself. Kennedy was attracted to Get so but tried not act on it because she was engaged to Landon. I really believed she really didn't want to marry Landon. To me he was a convenience knowing she was really feeling Bryson. It all worked out in the end Kennedy and Bryson are together. Very good book.
I absolutely loved Kennedy and Bryson's story! I think that Bryson is my favorite so far! He was relentless when it came to Kennedy! Kennedy tried to do the right thing and stay away from Bryson but the pull was too great. I'm glad they finally worked things out. I'm still curious about Kennedy's ex Landon. I felt there was more to his story, like he did something sneakier. Also I loved Baby Lilah's name. Great story Alexandra!!
Ugh! I just couldn’t connect with the characters as well. And also, I just finished “Love Unsolicited” prior and it was so good, that everything pales in comparison.
It wasn’t horrible, but it also wasn’t good. Just felt like the pace was too fast, but it wasn’t supposed to be. More like we were told they were into each other and yet I never felt like it developed.
I liked this book but I’m hella confused on how Nicole actually ended up pregnant when he used his own condom, and got rid of it knowing it didn’t have holes ones in it. It made no sense to me I get anything is possible but I feel ok it was just put in the book for no real reason. Kenn had this whole convo with Nicole admitting she pretty much used him so what was the point of adding it? Just a waste of a happy ending in my book.
This isn't my type of 'romance'. I cannot root for relationships that begin as a result of infidelity, which this romance does. I also found Bryson, the male love interest immature, especially at the beginning. Despite these negatives, I didn't hate the book, it is an easy quick read and I enjoyed Alexandra's writing. I also liked the side characters, Chloe and Miles. I will continue to read more of Alexandra Warren's books.
Was a cute little read! One thing I don’t really care for is when the mmc is pursuing the fmc but still sleeping with other women. I know this was a little different as the fmc already had someone she was engaged to but not satisfied with. But a baby was made while he was chasing the fmc and she ended up being with him and becoming a step mom of someone else’s child.
Bryson and Kennedy had each other distracted. I could tell Kennedy's true feelings for Landon from the beginning although she played with it. I was really hoping Nicole was lying, but I guess not. Landon was Kennedy's comfort zone and I'm glad she found someone to set her soul on fire and bring her to life.
Page tuner. I love Alexandra Warren books. This one I liked up until the baby drama. Nicole basically admitted to Kennedy the baby wasn't Brysons'. Then make it his
was just wrong. Especially when he knew what he did with the condom. Expected a better ending. Like Kennedy telling Bryson and Nicole getting what she deserved, NOTHING!!!!
I cannot say enough about any books that this author writes. They are easy reads meaning they flow effortlessly. The characters are relatable. The storyline is not too far-fetched and you can actually see something like this happening in real life. Unfortunately, it just won't happen to me... LOL
What can I say, I loved this book. It was a real page turner for me. I kept thinking what would I do if I was in Kennedy's shoes. Bryson's character grew on me. At first was like who is this f-Boy. But by the end I was rooting for him. But Landon that fool surprised the mess out of me! Great story. Great plot. Great characters Alexandra does it again.
Isn’t funny how we tend to fall for the complete opposite of what we tend to be attracted to? Well that’s what happened here and let me just say I loved it. You did it once again Ms. Warren. From beginning to end I was captivated with this story. Can wait to read the next installment.
I love that Kennedy didnt settle. It takes a big woman not to hold resentment towards an innocent child and to truley forgive someone and I pride her on that. This was so entertaining and I wanted much more.
Recently I've been introduced to Ms. Warrens books! Love the storylines and characters. Its good to read stories regarding relationships the good, bad and ugly and its not always happy happy joy. joy. Much continued success Ms. Warren
I really enjoyed this love story. The chemistry between the main characters was sizzling hot and of course the characters were fully developed. Ms. Warren did a great job and yep this particular love story is definitely a favorite of mine.
Awwww so glad that Bryson finally got his happy ending!!! Was also glad to know Miles and Ava were still going strong. Such a great story and very well written.
Alexander's books are always well written and have amazing character development. I did miss the Lexi reference from Pregame ritual but I guess the mention Alexis was it. Overall great read.
Another cute ass couple. One particular part that I thought was predictable, ended up not being close to it and I should have known better. Alexandra is wicked with the pen and does the best Novella’s
I absolutely loved the characters. Yo Bryson is my kind of guy. His honesty is brutal, but he knows what he want. I loved Kennedy's character as well. I will definitely be reading this one again!
All Kennedy wanted to do was be a stylist, Bryson being a NBA phenom wanted to run thru groupies on some one night stand stuff! They ended up as so much more! Bryson really fell in love! There story was drama filled, A lot of up and downs but in the end love won!
Listen after the Landon incident I really thought he was going to disappear but he stayed way too long from my liking, taking up time that could have been devoted to Kennedy and Bryson instead of that rushed ending.
