AshOR finally has command of his own ship, and he's been given an important mission to head up. He has to locate a rogue Morin ship that managed to get through the wormhole, before it reaches Earth. He expects to face battle, and he's used to fighting. What he doesn't expect is the trail of horror and destruction left by the Morins. Stopping his people's enemy is his top priority, and he doesn't need the complication of a stunning beauty that won't listen to anything he has to say. In fact, she does the exact opposite.
Ava Collins is a FEMA volunteer who's seen a lot of bad stuff in her lifetime. However, none of it prepares her for what she encounters while leaving Earth to travel to a new world. War, hate, genocide: these are things that she finds are universal. She offers her assistance to the commander of the Colonial transport, but he doesn't seem to trust that she knows what she's doing. When he's not ignoring her suggestions and advice; he's flirting with her outrageously and driving her a little bit crazy.
During times of struggle and strife different species must come together to aid one another. Can they overcome the common enemy who seeks to tear them apart? Will these two overcome their own reluctance in order to allow love in their hearts?

I was slightly disappointed when Ava found AshOR in his quarters. I'm not sure I would have been so easy to forget that. Ava is a very compassionate person. She fights for the lives and survival of others. I really like her. I have liked AshOR since we met him. He is fiercely protective of his family. Great ending. Now I need to check on StrykER. That should be awesome.
This is the first one in the series I have read and I really enjoyed it, well aside from how AshOr acts in the beginning, I have a dislike for man-whores who think that kind of behavior is ok because...good old boys must be boys. But the story was interesting and the world very fascinating. I'm definitely going to back read more of this series.
It is not safe to be a female right now on any planet. The only way around this is to have a big strapping alien male at your side.Ava sure found one.Now she has to get away from the Morins.
Thank goodness AshtOR is still charming and funny! Ava is a feisty human woman who doesn't let the huge Alien's stop her from doing what she needs to. So you can imagine the alterations and scrapes Ava has with the hot Commander.
I liked this book more the first time I read it. I’m confused by that but then again I’m not the same person as I was then. So... I’ve grown and changed a lot as a person and a reader since then, so I get it. I guess. I’m not mad at it but I’m conflicted . Part of me is like ,” there’s no real depth to the characters ,the story doesn’t really tell us anything new , the heroine is a wishy washy idiot who seems to almost look for reasons to jump to the wrong conclusion or just be a huge TSTL .” All so true and most of the h’s behavior scores high on my pet peeves list for books heroines and just ppl in general. Honestly it mostly just feels like it exists to give AshOr a mate and further the arc of the series. That’s not something I’m really fond of . Sure, sure further the story arc of the series but give each book their own flavor and give me something /enough to enjoy on its own . Story arc or not at book 📚 there should be enough going on to enjoy in the book for its own sake. But sadly it’s the same ole sane ole. Guy is attracted to girl . Her scent drives him wild, gets all growly and protective and thinking Mine! Mine! MINE! And has him wanting to F her senseless 24/7. And yet he runs away supposedly “clueless “. No! We shouldn’t be still playing that game at book 10! AshOr has seen too many couples get together to be this dumb. While girl wanders around clueless asking why is he running so hot 🥵 and so cold 🥶. Here though Ava is really good at thinking because what ever is going on she’d rather jump,to conclusions that just ask a question. And I can tell you that got old real fast! AshOr honestly wasn’t that bad and kept a pretty cool head,I liked him for the most part . But Ava like a girl barely into her 20’s the way she never took time to assess a situation before she was making assumptions and losing her temper and doing something dumb . And it was usually about AshOr. And the B never knew what she wanted either. Case in point. Their finally having sex,on one page she’s giving herself permission to let go and enjoy what’s happening because she knows he can’t give her a STD and he’ll pull out so pregnancy isn’t an issue. Then just a page later she’s running to pout and cry in the shower because he pulled out and thus didn’t “mate” her. I’m like huh ? What ? Just five seconds ago you say you didn’t want that. I wanted slap her. If he wanted her,I guess it might make sense ,”fated mates” and all for him. But she’s constantly taking everything he says or does wrong and she barely knows him,why does she want to mate him? It’s convoluted really. Then another planet is attacked and what does this high maintenance moron do ? She pulls a classic TSTL move. Child is missing evil guys loose on planet, so of course she runs off with just person help her and no one knowing where she is ,gets her guard killed and herself taken and in need of rescue. Of course she does. And yet Ash thinks she’s awesome and can’t wait til she’s healed so he can F her again. So much goes unexplained. Like why and how the Morins destroy a entire planet in just a few hours and just leave. Yeah, yeah their endlessly evil but for a group homeless makes forced to just roam around on spaceships 🚀 it doesn’t make sense. This felt rushed and this chick was to flighty and immature to have been any good at disaster relief . She was caring and kind ,yeah but to short sighted and dumb. She had too much of a savior complex to truly be helpful at times. I’m my humble opinion Ms. Jones has the bones for a descent series but it’s all to shallow and sex driven,it lacks depth. Needs more. I want sex but it should NEVER be what drives the plot or the story . Balance . I’m not mad at it ,just really frustrated. And I don’t know what I like it . It’s like craving that cheap double cheese at McDonald’s,you could get better but here you are eating it anyway.
Nice little romance with aliens, romance, action and adventure. Strong female and male characters. The continuation of characters into following books.
This story is a must read.. The characters are very strong and single minded.. Ash'or is commander of his ship and is in pursuit of a rogue Morin ship. Ava is a human travelling with other human females relocating to Katiera. Though Ash'or and Ava have seen a lot in life nothing can prepare them for the devestation that the Morins have done to the planet they were hiding on. The attraction between Ash'or and Ava grows everyday and both are determined to ignore it. But when they give in to their desires it is as hot and explosive as can be for both of them... When Ava is taken by the Morins, will Ash'or find her i. Time or will he loose her forever.. I received an arc in exchange for my honest review...
I love this series. And this one is just another amazing addition to this series. Here we see commander AshOR getting his pant in a twist over a human medic Ava. Together they have to help other species that were attacked by Morins. And they seem to be drawn towards each other. It was great to see AshOR getting all worked up over Ava, fighting his feelings but fighting a losing battle. Ava is such a great character, so determined and strong willed. Can't wait to read what's next in store for this series.
This is an interesting story that I really enjoyed reading! This is the 10th book in the Katieran series and the first book I've read by this author and I definitely wasn't disappointed. I loved the interactions between Ash'or and Ava and their chemistry is off the charts! It was entertaining to watch them fight their attraction to each other and intense when they finally gave in. It did irritate me a bit during the few times I felt she should've stood up for herself to Ash'or a bit more. I recommend this to anyone to read and I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
KD Jones continues to write excellent books. Each book in this series seems to get better and better. The stories and characters blend together seamlessly to keep the reader going along and interested. At the end they are ready for the next book to be published.
Pick up a book by KD you won't be sorry I know I never happen she great!
I just absolutely loved Colonial Commander!! What a great addition to KD's Katieran Prime series. I can't wait to see what KD has in store for us in her next book. What a great read!! A definite must read :) Happy Reading :)
This is first book I've read in this series but I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I plan on checking out the others book in this series. I received an copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was given this book in return for an honest review. I enjoyed it very much. AshOR and Ava are both stubborn and complete each other in different ways. I enjoy reading KD's books of the few I have read.
the h walks in on the H getting it on with two other women (ch 3)... and i'm still trying to finish reading :|. if the H could realize she smelled "special" after his encounter with the other two women, why not before. ugh... this series is starting to pall.
