Vegas Fae #4

Not Just Another Fae

Rate this book
Ex-cop and P.I., Robert Hoskins knows some cases are tougher than others, especially when dark magic is involved. A call from the local pack master about some missing Weres is more than it seems.

Portals to the Underworld have opened and ancient creatures long thought dead have returned. As a Fae, Robert's faced off with Demons before, but always as the hunter, never the prey.

What magic force has opened the portals and why is it travelling through the Hells of the Underworld releasing Demons in its wake? Robert needs old friends and new allies to find out.

But knowing what the problem is won't be enough. He has to find a way to stop it —- making this his most difficult case of all.

From the author of "Return of the High Fae," and "Of Gods and Fae," this is book four in the Vegas Fae Stories, but a standalone novel in its own right.

Tom Keller

Tom Keller is a retired cop and former computer forensics expert and Federal Public Defender investigator. Back in the early days he was a busboy, a cook, and a shoe and real estate salesman. He's taught courses at the local Community College as well as lectured to others in his field on a variety of topics. He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. A place he's called home for over 40 years.

He had a website design business back in the days when you still accessed the Internet by modem. He's sold model airplanes and electronics on the web and eBay. He even had his own TV show for a season or two (okay, it was really low budget, better call it no budget, and it was on UHF for those of you that remember those kinds of things. But, hey, it did snag a 2.0 share one episode). He collects toy space guns, lunch boxes, and coffee cups, among other memorabilia. If he had a personal card it’d probably say something like ‘specialist in generalities,’ or as his brother would say, polymath.

Tom is still married to his college sweetheart and spends his free time with his family and spare time writing. He is a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America.

I love it, but I really wish someone had taken the time to proof and edit it. The typos were distracting.

Dark journeys

I think i read this after being too tired because i am confused as to what happened, what changed and the impact from the newest trial for Robert. New realms and travels to various underworld along with new alliances makes a good but not great modern urban fantasy. Glad i read it but hoping for more clarity in the next book.

Onward

I must say that I like all of the Vegas Fae stories. This is a good tale with new allies brought in. This could definitely be a great TV show especially with the showdown coming between the two High Faes.

Great story

Really enjoy Mr Keller's writing. Good continuation of the series with just enough recall for those that may not have read the full series, and for us who have forgotten some of the back story.

Enjoyable but becoming a bit formulaic

Nice romp thru faerie realms, but nothing too spectacular. Starting to become a bit formulaic. Will keep reading but interest is waning.

I must say, I truly enjoyed this book! The characters are developing rather quickly now and the storyline is getting more compelling with each book. Robert is trying his best to keep the evil ones at bay, but they are really giving him a run for his money. I love how Robert doesn't let his power go to his head and try to control everything and everyone, just because he found out he's a King. His laid back demeanor makes him so much more likeable. He's also quite the ladies man...err, faeries man. :) It's quite entertaining how the Fae seal their alliances!! lol For me, I'm really happy it's not sexually explicit, like so many books (and TV!) are today. Very refreshing! This series is such a wonderful read, and the fact that it's urban fantasy written for adults, as well as teens, makes it that much more loveable to me. I don't have to try to "think" like a teenager to "get" it. Or try to remember how it felt to be "torn between two hot boys". Tom Keller really does his research when he writes a book! I've learned so many things from reading this series. I've looked up several things, just to get into more depth and detail on what he brings into the story. I can't wait for the next book in this series! Finding out what Bernd has planned for Grerin's scheme to gain power, what Gaea and Ouranos are really up to, WHY Gaea wanted that scythe back (the one she used on Ouranos' nards!), and how the Dwarves plan to get rid of Robert and his kids and keep to the Old Ways, so that they may be worshiped as Gods... all this anticipation!! Mr. Keller, I commend you on your story telling abilities! Never a dull moment, and I love being able to pick up my Kindle and step out of my life and into your worlds. Yours are so much more interesting and entertaining than mine! Keep up the good work! You've got quite the following!!

I really enjoyed Robert Hoskins continuation on his path of doing the right work for Gods and humankind. His path led him to the Underworld where he found two old friends and led them back to being alive. I'm really glad that part happened. This book was enjoyable and well written, highly recommended series!!

Great Series

I love these books and can't stop until I finish the series! Robert is a Vegas PI along the lines of other great PI's in books, tough and smart but with a heart. He's a divorced dad who loves his adult kids and respects women, and he's also a high fae, only 1 of 2 left, and a king in the fae world. I'm working my way through the series at a fast clip, and only hope that Tom Keller keeps writing because I love these books.

Nice

I found the twist and turns, the not knowing made me keep turning pages. I was on the edge wording about Charlie. He took a lot more risk and the creatures get better and better.
