Dedicated nurse Paige is having a hell of a week. First, she gets suspended from the hospital for working with the hybrids at Luna Lodge. She sees it as a medical professional simply doing her duty, but her superiors see a woman involved with a trouble-making group of genetically engineered super-soldiers. Her only hope of keeping her job is convincing her bosses she has nothing to do with the lodge anymore. Soon, her hope of staying out of the hybrids’ world is crushed when a handsome rogue hybrid shows up half-dead on her doorstep. Hybrid Justus suffered as a prisoner of both the Horatius Group and Luna Lodge. Now on the run, he’s determined to keep his freedom at all costs, but cut off from the familiar, he becomes desperate and confused. Freedom can be overwhelming to those who have never had it. When a chance encounter in the forest leaves Justus wounded, he’s forced to flee until encountering a woman that calls on the most primal side of Paige. The two can’t deny their attraction to each other, but first they have to do deal with paranoid locals who aren’t about to let a hybrid wander outside of Luna Lodge, even if it means bloodshed.
Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end. When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require. Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog: http://madisonstevens.blogspot.com/ Newsletter Sign-up: http://eepurl.com/OX9r5
Another addition to the exciting Luna Lodge series, this one has a wounded warrior on the run and a nurse who saves him. Our H Justus was held prisoner by both Horatius Group and Luna Lodge, and now is wanting freedom at all costs..until he is shot and poisoned! He ends up at Paige's house, realizing she is his Vestal. But with enemies on their tail, can they explore their new found love?
Very fast paced story with likable characters and super EVIL enemies. I still can't get over how vile the villains in this series are. That being said, the second half of this book was very rushed, and I'd have enjoyed a bit more to the storyline.
From the moment Paige first came out to Luna Lodge to pitch in at their short staffed hospital she has been full of personality, and can-do surprises. Stepping up, and stepping in when the situation called for it... but a life around weapons and gunshots isn't what she was looking for, so she quit her job at Luna Lodge in a previous story. Thankfully, Luna Lodge is located next to a small town, and our hybrids paths have crossed hers again.
Justus is a character we knew little about prior to this story, so not only do we get to know him here, but he gives us a big glimpse into what is happening in the community beyond the walls of Luna Lodge.
For anyone wondering if the walls of Luna Lodge are really to keep the hybrids safe, or have they just traded one prison for another, this is the story that explores where safety lies, and for whom.
We don't know much about Justus expect he was Inprisoner by Titusome because he didn't know if he could trust him. He didn't know if he was a plant for the Horatio us group or like them. Justus escaped and left and has been wondering when he got in trouble and paige helped him out. This was a very fast paced story. We didn't know much about him and still don't. All we learned was he was an assassin. I'm surprised they didn't realize page was a vestal sincen she was working around their hospital with them for weeks. Eager to read the rest of the story
I've become addicted to this series and had really high hopes for it but I'm really disappointed in how the books have taken a turn, the content is there but you still feel like there's a haste to get it done. The connection that you became used to between the H and h has become so shallow. Part of the appeal was to feel the build up to in their relationship despite the instalove aspect. There are a couple grammar errors here and there that can be overlooked. I just hope they get better.
This series just keeps getting better and better. If you read PNR about shifters you know there are always factions that think they are an abomination and want to eradicate them. The thing about this series is the shifters don't shift. They have animal like characteristics but they are more super soldiers than shifters. This one deals with Justus, the bald head, black shifter and his Vestal, Paige. It is full of danger and prejudice but it's more about his nature than his skin color. How refreshing!!!!
The book reminds me of the 1970's .Subliminal messages over the airwaves, in the wicked Demonic metal music . 😂 records played backwards were Satan's messages corrupting young people. 😂 Thing is the government did study it. Ok this is supposed to be a book review . I totally enjoyed it despite my flash back. It creeps the story line forward but still leaves wondering .Justus gets his woman and is out of his cell. Read to find out if he stays out of lock up. ..
Yes yes yes!!!! I loved Justus! He didn't even hesitate to go and have Paige for himself. He knew what he wanted and took it. This was a great story with so much heat and drama!! Next!!!!!!
I really like the series and the world, but this book was way too rushed. There was no back and forth getting to know each other before falling into bed. There were a lot of grammatical errors that I found distracting. The world plot was moved forward, but not as skillfully as usual.
This is my favorite series ever. I get so excited every time a new book is released. I love Justus!!! This book really touched me and has become one of my favorites. There was a tenderness and gentleness between Justus and Paige. My only disappointment is that with all of these books there are still many unanswered questions and this book didn't get us any closer to answers. I actually felt this was going in the opposite direction.
I loved Justus and Paige's story, it was awesome. I love this authors style of writing, she made the storyline captivating and exciting. The characters are strong, fierce, loving and they had great chemistry. My issues with this book are that I came across a few problems with the editing throughout the story and I would have liked an epilogue at the end. Otherwise overall I loved it!
The more time spent with the religious fanatics the less I enjoy the story. Kill that villain off already. I would have preferred more time in the epilogue with Justus re-integrating with the others and showing how he will fit in with the group.
This was a great installment for the Luna Lodge series. This brought some new problems and new love to the hybrids. I love watching this series progress.
