What will Gameknight999 do when his own friend is infected with the evil Herobrine virus?
With the destruction of the infected Ender Dragon, the monster kings were forced to retreat. Herobrine’s poisonous XP has been captured in an obsidian box and sealed tightly. Gameknight999 and his friends know that the obsidian box will have to be destroyed to eliminate the evil virus once and for all. But how? And who will be brave enough to do it?
Gameknight and his friends decide to take the infected ender chest far from their village, to a place where it will do no harm. But during the voyage, Herobrine takes control of Herder and has him steal the ender chest, taking it to the Nether where the blaze-king, Charybdis, awaits. But while they’re battling a host of blazes, zombie-pigmen, and ghasts, the obsidian box is broken, infecting Herder with Herobrine’s XP. As Herder is overcome by the virus’s poisonous wickedness, Gameknight must face his friend in battle if he hopes to defeat this monster. But how can he destroy Herobrine without destroying his friend?
Mark Cheverton grew up in Southern California, going through high school, and college. After college, Mark taught high school physics and math for many years. While teaching, he earned a Master's degree in Physics and conducted research on planetary atmospherics. After moving to the east coast, he started doing research for a Fortune 100 company in the fields of machine vision and additive manufacturing. His first book, The Algae Voices of Azule, was released in 2012, followed by the sequel shortly after.
He recently released the first book in his Minecraft series, Invasion of the Overworld: A Minecraft Novel, which is expected to be followed by the sequel, Battle for the Nether, in early 2014.
I think you'd like this because it's thrilling. This book is about someone who gets sucked into Minecraft. This book is really about trying to save Minecraft and the real world. You'll love the part when they defeated the monster army.
I LOVED this book because I LOVE Minecraft. I didn't like this book because Herder changed into Herobrine! I liked this book because Herder was saved because of Gameknight999. I also think it was very exciting because there were so many intricate battles and puzzles that all lead to Herobrine. In the end, Gameknight999 beat Herobrine! At least he thought so.........
I enjoyed this book because I love MINECRAFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Gameknight999's friends (not Gameknight999) defeated Herobrine and left Herder in a curled-up ball. I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Gameknight999 got back into the physical world (with a digitizer). I did not like the part when Herder tripped in the Nether and fell with Herobrine's XP (Experience Points) and turned into Herobrine.
##spoilers## Mark Cheverton somehow manages to blow me away with each one of his fictional stories! I just sit there with my mouth wide open in shock and surprise. Mr. Cheverton somehow manages to put emotion puts me on the verge of tears! Gameknight999 vs Herobrine is no ordinary book and it only took me one day to finish this book. The user that is not a user and his friends have a major problem! Herobrine’s XP that was captured and put in an ender chest is making an ear-splitting scream affecting all of the villagers. All the villagers are bickering and arguing instead of cooperating with each other to beat the tons of monster waves ahead of them. Soon after, the village make a decision to take the chest far away to an ancient place- The Abyss! However, on their long and dangerous journey the monster kings plan a full scale attack on them. Unfortunately, the ender chest drops and breaks littering Herobrine’s XP until it found Herder! Gameknight999 somehow has to defeat Herobrine without killing one of his best friends. Also, he has to survive the attacks of 5 monster kings, Feyd, Xa-Tul, Reaper, Charybdis and the new spider king Shaivalak including their armies. Somehow he has to succeed or meet his fate! Monkeypants271- Gameknight999’s dad has to be my favourite character not just in the book but the whole Herobrine Reborn series. He acted as a role model giving inspirational advice and setting by example. One of my favourite quotes he used in the series a number of times has to be “When you encounter a problem, split the problem into smaller pieces and attack the pieces”. However, my least favourite character was probably Xa-Tul, the arrogant zombie king who acts with stupidity and is selfish. Though he is my least favourite character he fits in well and makes the book much more interesting. In my opinion, the end of the story was the most dramatic scene with a massive battle. I would recommend children ages 10 and above to read these books as it has some difficult words which are hard to understand. Also, some of the quotes are something a 5- year old wouldn’t understand. This book is well-rounded as it ticks off all the boxes which makes it a wonderful book. These books are popular all over the world and are big hit in many countries. I would rate this particular story a perfect 10/10 and finally to Mark Cheverton, I encourage you to continue with this series- It is fantastic!
I really enjoy this book. This series has always gotten greater and greater with each book, and I love the foreshadowing used for the upcoming trilogy "The Birth Of Herobrine". I like how Mark Cheverton always knows how to keep you interested, and I'm really looking forward for the next books coming out. I know every book by heart, and I know all the characters well. I find the monster kings to be the most unique characters, my favorite being Feyd, mainly because he poses a much greater threat then Erebus, due to his ingenious problem solving skills. I also know every book name by heart, which are:Invasion Of The Overworld, Battle For The Nether, Confronting The Dragon, Trouble In Zombie-Town, The Jungle Temple Oracle, Last Stand On The Ocean Shore, Saving Crafter, Destruction Of The Overworld, Gameknight999 Vs. Herobrine, The Phantom Virus, Overworld In Flames, System Overload, The Great Zombie Invasion, Attack Of The Shadow-Crafters, and Herobrine's War.
I like the story. The plot was OK. I felt like it just was not great and it did not have anything to really get me interested. The characters in the MineCraft game have to go to a gigantic pit to dump a Ender chest with the experience points (XP) of the bad antagonist, Hero Brine. The chest is making screeching noises that annoy the main characters and made them behave badly. I felt that there wasn't a lot of unique things in the story because it was just fighting monsters going from place to place.
I think that the book "Gameknight999 vs. Herobrine" by Mark Cheverton was a action-packed adventure book with several plot twists. I rate this book with 4 stars because although I love twists, if you read the other books in the series and the back of this book, the main twist was really predictable.I recommend this book to people who love Minecraft, wish villagers could free their hands, and would like to see how Minecraft would be so great if they added more mega-mobs.

This was a great book to read with 7yo. We both enjoyed it a lot. Needs a better editor but the story line was good and hopefully 7yo took away some good thoughts about working with friends.
I have read a lot of Mark Cheverton's books and they all make me get glued to them and make me want to read more
I chose five stars because Mark's books are awesome and he is very creative. I always imagine myself as Gameknight because he paints such a clear picture of what is happening
