Graduating from college is supposed to be a promise for excitement and limitless possibilities. But for unemployed Rebecca Stanton, the highlight of her day is sitting in her parents’ home with a pint of Chunky Monkey while watching The Bachelor. Desperate for change and inspired by a late night commercial, she stumbles onto a job opportunity with a new cruise line, packs her bags, and sets sail toward her new destiny.
Life is full of an endless supply of exciting possibilities for Marco Puglia. The tall, dark, handsome, ITALIAN Cruise Director with Sunset Cruise Lines is practically a celebrity in the cruising industry. When Marco adds Rebecca to his staff, he soon discovers it is both the best and worst decision he's ever made. The beautiful siren has captured his attention and ensnared his heart. An intense attraction like theirs doesn’t follow the rules, even one that forbids a boss/employee relationship.
Will their blatant mutiny force their newly found love aground, or will Rebecca and Marco find love on their horizon?

Love on the Horizon is a story about a young woman trying to find her way in the world and taking a chance. Rebecca is tired of dead end jobs. She’s been to college and she owes a lot in student loans but she just can’t seem to find a decent job. When an opportunity pops up for her to apply for a job with Sunset cruises, she packs her bags and heads to Florida to apply.
Marco has just gotten a promotion, he is now the Cruise Director on The Horizon, it’s has been a long time dream of his to work on a cruise ship making sure all of the passengers have a good time.
Rebecca and Marcus have an instant attraction to each other, the thing is with Marcus being Rebecca’s boss he can't act on his attraction because if caught, one of them will lose their job.
Ricky, Marcus’s assistant see’s the attraction between these two and he will stop at nothing in order to get these two together.
OH MY! What a wonderful romance. For most of the book I had a smile while reading. There were also some funny scenes added in that had me laughing. This was a very easy read that stole my heart. My emotions were totally engaged and I was completely invested in what was going on and wanting to know what will happen next.
I can’t possibly choose a favorite character because I LOVED Rebecca, Marco and Ricky. Rebecca was funny kind and smart. Marco was SO ROMANTIC, sexy and caring. And then there is Ricky who is Marco’s assistant and best friend to Marco and Rebecca. He was such a hoot, I LOVED HIM!!
This was one of the MOST romantic reads I read in a while. The last three chapters I had tears of joy in my eyes. But it was not always easy sailing for Marco and Rebecca. Add in their family’s being total against them being together, a jealous x-lover, and an x fiancée, that all added up to some major drama. There was always something going on that demanded my attention.
Love on the Horizon Also had some major heat added in. These two were SCORCHING hot whether they were in a bed, a pool, a car or even an airplane. So if you like your books with steam added in, you’ll definitely get it here.
Do their family’s come around and finally except these two as a couple? Do they lose their jobs? Or do they end up working to make their dreams come true? I’m not telling. All’s I have to say is the ending was PERFECTION with a fantastic epilogue that had me grinning ear to ear and my heart pounding..
Thank you A.M. Madden for gifting me a copy of your book for my honest review!
This was such a sweet and beautiful love story about two people meeting, falling in love and overcoming the obstacles that are thrown in their way.
I enjoyed the characters, Rebecca and Marco. Rebecca is a really funny and sensible young woman with a bright head on her shoulders. She doesn't take crap from no one and likes to challenge herself. Marco is just an all around good, kind but most of all romantic man. It was fun to see how these two people did everything in their power to hide their attraction towards one another. Cause their attraction was intense and so was their need to be with each other.
When they finally did get together, some of the story was about the people around them and their views on their relationship and that lost my interest at times. I would have liked to see their relationship challenged more. Their relationship was so new and fresh, that anything could happen.
But the faith, trust and most importantly love they had for each other carried the story and I enjoyed that. The secondary character, Ricky was such a wonderful surprise. Full of spunk and humor. I just loved him. The writing was spot on and I could almost picture myself being on the ship, The Horizon.

Another feel-good romantic love story from A.M. Madden!
Finding love is hard. But keeping that love is even harder. Throw in an unexpected forbidden passion between a boss and employee, along with two families that don't approve, and the stakes just went way up!
Landing new jobs on the cruise liner, The Horizon, Marco and Rebecca are completely caught off guard when an instant attraction forms at first sight. But what transpires between them is anything but immediate. Do they risk not only their hearts, but also their careers, for something unknown? Or do they continue to deny the magnetic desires they share for one another? Truth and consequences clash, and relationships are tested. How can loving someone be so wrong?...when it feels so right.
A rich and deep story, with complex characters, LOVE on The Horizon is an engaging and charming MUST-READ!
With no direction, no job, not even a crappy one, and student debt accruing, she takes a job aboard a cruise ship.
There she meets Marco. He's perfection. An Italian God. He also knows Rebecca is trouble.
This is a wonderful romance. It's one of the best love stories I've read in awhile. There's enough angst, conflict, and tension to keep you turning pages. And, enough warm fuzzies to keep you interested.
The secondary characters are excellent and you feel as if you're reading part of a community.
AM Madden is fast becoming one of my go-to, automatic buy authors.
Love Love Love this Book!! Love on the Horizon is amazing. This refreshing romantic story has it all. The instant attraction between Rebecca and Marco, the hysterical best friend Ricky that everyone will want to have on their side, the Villain we all want to smack and of couse the quirky FAMILY that we all have and love!! I always like a story that has a slight "maybe we shouldn't date" storyline, it adds to the suspense and drama. It has me rooting for love while obstacles get in the way and in Love on the Horizon some of those obstacles will have you clinching your fists while others will have you laughing so hard you'll be tears. ♡ Ahhh but the passion between Marco and Rebecca will have you swooning and sighing at their story!! Sexy & Hot!!! Love on the Horizon gripped me right from the start up to the very last page, and eventhough the story left me thirsty for more from all of these amazing characters, it gave me all my answers. The story was never rushed and flowed so beautifully, plus it made me fall for another of AM Madden’s Leading Men! **A DEFINITE MUST READ**
When you graduate from college, you’ve got your whole life ahead of you—you’re ready to get to work in the field you’ve been studying for the past four years or more. Ready become an adult—ready to take care of yourself. Be your own woman. Except when reality slaps you in the face and you end up working at Hooters—the only thing available while you continue to look for your dream job. Until you’re fired… then over a pint of Chunky Monkey, you find inspiration to look for a job on a cruise ship. That would be Rebecca Stanton. She’s left safety and her overprotective family in Jersey to head to Florida—determined to get the job and set sail heading for a new destiny.
Marco Puglia is the tall, dark and handsome Cruise Director for Sunset Cruise Lines. And he’s Italian, with that sexy accent too. Marco hires Rebecca, with the full support of the rest of his staff—a hiring that was both the best and worst decision of his life. She’s the perfect woman for him—smart, funny, beautiful, kind. Too bad there’s a strict “no fraternization” rule at work—especially taboo for a boss/employee relationship. But rules are meant to be broken, right? Until you get caught… then maybe it’s time to write your own rules.
Wow. I have to admit I struggled a bit in the beginning of this book but ended up really loving it in the end. Rebecca and Marco have an intense and palpable connection that just burns off the pages. Whoa, are they so sexy together. And don’t even get me started on Ricky. He’s the assistant cruise director who just happens to manage everything for Rebecca and Marco to spend time together. He’s an amazing friend to both Rebecca and Marco—I have a bit of a girl crush on him.
Some of the best parts of this book are when Rebecca and Marco spend time with their individual families. Both sides are overbearing, overprotective and over-the-top! But that’s what family does, right? Wants what’s best for you? And sometimes it really sucks when you have to make a choice to be an adult and stand up for yourself and your beliefs, right? That’s just what Rebecca and Marco have to do—and it’s sad, funny, heartwarming, irritating, and awesome. I felt like I was home with my family telling them I was not moving home to Connecticut after college, but staying with my new boyfriend in Maryland. We’ve been married almost twenty years. I guess it’s worked out okay. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

When Rebecca Stanton accepts a position with Sunset Cruise lines, she knows it's going to change her life. It's a new adventure, throwing caution to the wind and experiencing life. Love isn't even on her radar, so she's completely knocked for a loop when she meets her boss—tall, dark, handsome, Italian, and the first man to set Rebecca's heart aflutter…maybe ever.
Marco Puglia knows he can't get involved with the beautiful new hire. She's his direct report, and she's entirely off limits. It's incredibly inconvenient that he can't stop thinking about her and that his body reacts to her in a way that sometimes borders on painful. He's trying to do the right thing, but sometimes the right thing might actually be the thing you think is wrong and, as his feelings intensify, he must make a choice between the career he's worked so hard for, and the love he never even knew he wanted.
This book was a bit of a slow mover for me. I had some trouble connecting to Marco and Rebecca initially, and I can't put my finger on why, because I genuinely liked both of them. There were times I felt the story dragged a little bit, like things weren’t happening quickly enough. And then sometimes their relationship would progress in a way that would cause my eyebrow to raise because it seemed to be happening too quickly and felt rushed in a way that didn’t allow my feelings to deepen along with theirs. So, something about the pacing of this book put me off my game for a bit. However, by the halfway point, I was completely sucked in. I think the introduction of a whole slew of dynamic secondary characters helped tremendously and gave this book a depth that was missing for me in the first half.
Speaking of secondary characters—I adored Ricky! He was the one constant for me throughout the book. What a fun, dynamic character! I also adored Marco and Rebecca's families—even when they were misbehaving. That's where the real charm in this book was for me. I felt like the interactions with their families helped deepen their love story, and show me bits of real feeling that allowed me to connect.
And, oh! The love story! As I said, it took me a bit to connect to it, but once I started feeling that depth, and investing myself in their world, I was completely drawn into it. Sexy and sweet—I loved how they protected each other and supported each other when things got stressful. I adored how respectful and protective Marco was of Rebecca. I loved how supportive and understanding Rebecca was of Marco. I loved how there was no contrived drama, and these two handled themselves like grown-ups while navigating some emotional, sticky situations.
In the end, this was a sexy, sweet, swoony, lighthearted book that read a tiny bit like a toned down fairytale. I am excited to get more Stantons in depth (especially surly Sam and swoony Cooper) and spend more time with their family in general! ~ Shelly, 3.5 stars
You probably already know that A.M. Madden is one of my favorite authors and I will read everything she writes :) And I am so glad that I got the chance to read this story :) It was just the perfect relaxing read: light with an amazing love story, great characters and just a pinch of suspense :) The writing was superb as always and I immensely enjoyed getting to know Marco and Rebecca :)
One of the things I really liked about the story was that it touches current problems as difficulty of finding a suitable job after graduation. This is quite a common problem within the young generation and I loved seeing the attention drawn to it in this way.
Now on a brighter note, lets focus on the characters :) Both characters were quite easy to relate and very lovable :) Marco is definitely one pantie melting man candy with his amazing looks and delicious Italian accent:) I loved that from time to time he mixes Italian words in his speech. And the fact that he completely switches to Italian when he is emotional, is just so sweet :)
Rebecca is also quite an interesting character. Even though she is only 22 her decisions were quite mature which made her very lovable. It was also easy to relate to her struggles and feelings. Another character that I really loved, was one of the supporting characters - Ricky :) He was just so much fun and I have to say that I would love to read some more about him in the next book :)
The story line is quite interesting and even though there are scenes that are somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed them and felt that they enhanced the story. It was also quite interesting to get to know the families of both main characters and that in a way helped understanding them even better. And there were few quite heartbreaking moments during those scenes.
If you've read the short story before, keep in mind that it compiles close to half of the book but the rest is completely new and it pretty much shows what happens next. It is not as light hearted as the short story but rest assured, it still has a happy ending ;)
As a whole I have to say that I really enjoyed the lighthearted feeling of the story. I think it is the perfect read if you are looking for a sweet romantic story with a pinch of angst and sprinkled with hotness. The only problem I see is getting overheated thanks to some of the really hot scenes between Marco and Rebecca :D
This story by A.M. Madden is another perfect read. It is a lighthearted love story with characters that you can relate to. The writing is amazing and the story will suck you in.
Marco is the Cruise Director for Sunset Cruise Lines, handsome, sexy, and with an Italian accent that is sure to melt panties at every port. Having him switch from English to Italian, especially when his emotions get in the way, is very refreshing.
Rebecca is a recent college graduate struggling like many others to find a job after graduation. Wanting to do things on her own, when she applies and gets a position working for Marco, she is excited and terrified at the attraction she feels for him. She is only 22, but her decisions and actions are quite mature for someone her age. This makes her an interesting character, especially the fact that she is very open and not at all whiny.
Marco and Rebecca are extremely attracted to each other and the chemistry between them is noticed by Ricky, Marco’s assistant. He is determined to bring them together, despite their reluctance and the dating policy which is against this. He is fun and definitely a good friend. Ricky is one person that everyone would be lucky to have in their corner. He is one character that definitely deserves his own book!
The writing is light, fun, and the flow just right. The plot is engaging and the scenes between Marco and Rebecca will have you looking for a fan to cool you off. We have the "villains" that want to get in the way and make their life hell...we have the meddling families who love them, but in their quest to "do what is best" tend to make things worse...and we have the "best friend" who is always in their corner doing everything possible to make their lives easier. I loved reading Marco and Rebecca’s story. The fact that they thought things through instead of jumping to conclusions on situations and fighting with each other was extremely refreshing. There are definitely many characters in this story worth exploring further and this just made it much more interesting.
A.M. Madden, is there anything you cannot write about? I mean I read your series about a rock band, and was totally blown away. I read your book about a hot cop, I read your book about a baseball player and now this little gem about a hot Italian cruise director named Marco. Each book is different, yet you have a way of making the reader feel as though they know these people personally. I felt like I was right there on that cruise ship with Rebecca and Marco, trying to escape from their immediate attraction. I would have loved to have been there during a certain scene involving Dina, Rebecca and Ricky, lol. I fell in love with Marco and Rebecca, and rooted for them from the beginning. Rebecca is sassy, independent, and just trying to find out what she wants to do with her life. Marco, has found the life he wants, or he thinks he has. Get ready to be drawn in by Marco, the instant attraction between him and Rebecca has made him feel like the best thing and the worse thing he has ever done was to hire her. Poor Marco, one minute he is talking in English and the next he is cursing in Italian, and the poor fellow doesn't even realize he is doing it. I absolutely loved and hated his family and hers, I understand where they were coming from, but I also felt so sorry for Marco and Rebecca. But it also made for some hilarious scenes. His assistant Ricky, was a surprisingly refreshing addition to this book. Ricky is quite a character and most of the time he knows Marco, better than Marco knows himself. If you love romantic comedy with a great story line and fantastic characters, including one sexy Italian, then this book is a must read for you. Warning: If you read this book in public, you will definitely laugh out loud, and that will probably resort in you getting funny looks. I was privileged enough to receive an ARC of this book, but that had no bearing on my review. This book truly deserves five stars!!
What's not to love about this book? A beautiful, strong-willed young woman; a gorgeous, sexy, Italian cruise director; a hilarious best friend to both, a fabulous cruise ship, and amazing tropical settings all come together in Ann Marie Madden's latest endearing romance novel. Ann Marie has been at the top of my list for sweet, but very hot, good old love stories and she absolutely did not disappoint me with this one!
The idea for this book came from the true story of how Ann Marie's own parents met on a cruise ship and instantly fell in love. The rest of the story is purely fiction, but it's believable. I think that's why I was able to connect with these characters. Rebecca is like many young women at 22, unsure of what she wants to do and looking for direction. I love that she chose to find out who she was and what she wanted by leaving home (against her parents wishes) to look for something adventurous! Marco's path was similar. He chose not to step into the family business, but to follow his own dream. Now, take these two rebels, put them in a situation where the rules say they can't be together, and you know they will heat things up with the friction that breaking the rules creates. And of course every couple sneaking around needs an abettor, so enter the ever faithful, always hilarious best friend Ricky. I love Ricky!!
I was grateful to receive an ARC for an honest review. This book is a definite five star read for me because it has all of the elements that makes it a feel good story and one that I would highly recommend to my friends.
This is a difficult review to write, I really struggled to get into this book at first, I just found it lacked that usual spark that completely emerges me in an A.M. Madden book and has me totally engulfed in the story and characters. But around halfway through it suddenly gripped me and whereas for the first half I had picked it up and put it down multiple times, once it had me in its claws I couldn't put it down and was riveted by the second half. Very odd, I've never experienced that before. It's had me questioning if my not being able to get into it at first was more to do with me and my attention span at the time as opposed to the story itself. There was only really one thing I can point out that could have contributed to my initial struggle with this book, and that was Marco and his Italian-ness, for me sometimes it did feel a bit cliché how he would say the odd world in Italian in a sentence of English, it just felt a bit stereotypical. But that must have be one less noticeable for me or I just got used to his character but I didn't feel this to an issue further into the book. This is a story of the hurdles and obstacles a couple very much in love have to go through, the problems that can arise in a relationship, but overall it's a feel good story that has us hoping that the adage of love conquering all turns out to be true. Marco and Rebecca came across many problems on their road together, some mountains that seemed insurmountable but you really do root for these two to succeed. Overall I found this to be an enjoyable read, something different from A.M. Madden. I'm definitely intrigued about Sam's story and look forward to it.
Originally I read this as a novella for an anthology. Now it's a full blown amazing story and I am seeing stars!!!
Clapping still for this novella! Oh man I devoured this book very fast and could not tear myself away from it. I recommend this highly. Ever think you just need something more with your life? Rebecca thought the same thing. She set out to do something unknown and to find adventure and happiness. This new adventure lands her on a job of a cruise ship and she is a damn good activities director. Meeting her boss Marco...(fans self) she completely caught off guard. This Italian stud is just .....sigh...... Did I tell you about his accent? Whoa baby! I hear him clearly through the pages, I can feel the ship in motion with all the festivities and feel the warm sea air. I can also feel the forbidden feelings bubbling around. This is a must read and cannot wait for a full story after this little taste. A.M. has once again captivated and blown me away.
Reading this now as a full novel has me so much more in love with Marco and Rebecca. Through it all true love will prevail. I cannot wait for more from these two, as well as the next story in line.
I was so lucky to get to beta read Love on the Horizon back in June when it was a novella for the wonderful Am Madden, and since she's turned it in to a full length novel...and it's even better because we get more Marco, Rebecca and Ricky!!!
Rebecca Stanton NEEDS a new job. She answers an advert for a group director for a cruise line. What fun..cruise around balmy waters, warm weather, and always meet new people. Talk about not being bored with your job. So she packs a suitcase, jumps on a plane and heads south. Can you say The Hottest thing on the seas? Well, you'd be talking about The Sunset Cruise Lines and Marco Puglia... Marco is the Cruise Director and when he saw Rebeccas resume and then Rebecca herslelf he decided he wanted her underneath him (in more ways than one). LOL
With a great cast..Rebecca, a woman we can all associate with, Marco, a dreamboat we'd all like to accost, and Ricky, the flamboyant bestie you can't go wrong with this story. It is so well written. There'a a good storyline that takes you away to warmer climates, vacations, and good ole fashioned sex. yummo...what could be better? I don't know how it's possible but Am Madden has drawn me in even further...She writes a wonderful BBF...and a book Best Friend...because really, wouldn't we all love our own Ricky? While it's difficult enough to have a solid working relationship add that to a clandestine physical relationship...trying to hide it from your co workers but add in a crazy ass chick who wants her boss??? That's a guaranteed enemy made...and that brings along lots of trouble, especially when you're confined to a cruise ship. Love the bits of conflict, the sexy, hot romance, MARCO, MARCO MARCO...oh, it makes me want to take a cruise at the very least and leave my hubs at home. Found the full length version even better than the novella! 5 Stars
I've been an AM Madden fan since the Back-up Series. She has given me Jack, Trey, Quint, Ben and now Marco. It's too hard to pick a favorite but I will say the accent helped move him into the top three spots of my BBF's. She's great with supporting characters and I think Ricky may have just stolen my number one spot in that category. Who wouldn't want him for a best friend? He stole whole sections of this book for me.
Rebecca has recently graduated from college, lost her not so great current job, and is trying to find a job in her chosen college career field. When nothing pans out she stumbles on an ad working for a cruise ship. She applies and her life changes. She loves cruise ship life but she loves her boss even more. Marco Puglia is not just the typical tall, dark and handsome Italian man. He's also great at what he does. He has the job of his dreams on the boat of his dreams. The only thing missing is the girl of his dreams. When these two meet sparks fly - their connection is electric. If you ever doubted love at first site this book will change your mind.
Don't get me wrong nothing is ever perfect and Rebecca and Marco will have several things they need to work through and around to get where they want to be. Both their families will add obstacles and provide encouragement at different times I loved both of their family dynamics. I can't be too specific because I don't want to spoil anything for you. I can say their families added a whole new level to the book in my opinion.
If your on the fence, I highly suggest you pick this up. You will not be disappointed.
Rebecca Stanton has just graduated college and is ready to leave her friends and family behind and embark on an exciting journey of working on a cruise ship named Love on the Horizon, as an Entertainment Coordinator. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love at first sight with the hot Italian, Marco Puglia, who happens to not only be the cruise ship director, but her boss. Marco has just been promoted recently and has worked his way up the ladder the last seven years, but when he goes to meet and interview Rebecca he doesn’t expect to fall head over heels either. They just have an instant attraction to one another but they fight it since he is her boss and could get into serious trouble. Marco does his best to avoid Rebecca but can’t fight his feelings for his “bella.” When their relationship finally begins, they have to deal with hiding their relationship, which their good friend Ricky helps, but doesn’t last too long due to an ex fling of Marco’s. After their relationship is outed to the company, the hits just keep on coming. Throw in an ex fiancé in the mix, family members who don’t support their new found relationship, or new business dream, and you have a love story full of ups and downs of people trying to break their love apart. Will their love sustain all, or will they be pulled apart? Love on the Horizon is told in alternative POV’s and has a great epilogue. I love how A.M. Madden told a story of how people can fall in love at first sight and time doesn’t matter. Whether its three months or three weeks, when you know, you know.
LOVE on the Horizon is a sweet, lighthearted, love at first sight romance by A.M. Madden. I can tell you right now that a love on a ocean cruise ship sounds like everyone's fantasy and this book did not disappoint. Rebecca Stanton is stuck in a rut, working in a under qualified job just to pay the bills, still living with her parents even after going to college and successfully graduating. On a whim Rebecca decides it's time for a huge change and books a flight to Florida & a job interview with Sunset Cruise Lines. Rebecca meets Marco Puglia, sexy Italian Cruise Director and the connection is undeniable! Marco is excited to for his new job as Cruise Director on the ship Horizon, but keeping it professional with Rebecca is turning him in knots. Marco has never felt this connection with anyone before but a relationship with Rebecca is against the rules as Sunset Cruises. Will they risk it or does the job of their lives come in between the possibility of the love of their lives?
A.M Madden has done it again with LOVE on the Horizon! The story is told in duel POV and flows so naturally that you won't want to put it down. I fell in love with these characters as they fell in love with each other. The best friend and personal assistant Ricky was great and everyone wants their own Ricky in their lives. If you are looking for a lighthearted love story with a bit of a twist then this is perfect for you. 4 Stars for LOVE on the Horizon by A.M. Madden.
*** Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Reads - ARC provided for a honest review ***
As you all have probably noticed A.M. Madden is one of my all time favorite authors. And I'm lucky enough to be able to read a lot of her books early and she could send me anything and I would read it. And I love all of her books and this one is no exception. In this book we get to meet Marco and Rebecca who are both very lovable characters. Marco has been building his career up at Sunset Cruise lines and never even considered love his his near future. Of course working on a cruise ship he never lacked female attention. Rebecca is a new college graduate trying to find a job that will utilize her degree but with today's world that's getting harder and harder to do. So when she gets the chance at a job on the cruise ship she's excited. And chemistry is apparent between the two of them but policy strictly prohibits that between the two because he is her boss. But some rules are meant to be broken. I can't wait to read more of Marco and Rebecca's story and of course there is Ricky, Marco's assistant who hits it off with Rebecca as a very good friend. I loved Ricky and hope we get to hear more about him in the future. Oh and did I mention Marco is a sexy Italian man who reverts back to his native language when his emotions are high. This is an amazing summer read and I highly recommend it.
Edited to contain a (non spoiler) review of the full length novel. I really enjoyed this romantic adventure of 2 people who aren't supposed to be together. Rebecca nailed her interviews for a great job on a cruise ship and her boss is the super hot, no-commitment, Marco. I was expecting the sexual tension that leads to sneaking around, stealing kisses and slipping into cabins for late night rendezvous'. What I wasn't expecting was the chemistry and the fun that goes beyond the feeling of a summer romance. I was looking for something that was light and fun and this book had me smiling while reading. It was all that...light, fun, sexy and complicated, but an overall good book that made me feel like snuggling with my husband. The novella ended with the feeling that A.M. Madden might give us more on the horizon for these 2 characters. Well, she sure delivered. The story continued where it left off and gave us so much to laugh about. Both Marco and Rebecca have hilarious families and situations that I could totally see happening. They take their journey a bit further and jump into a new life together. Ricky, Marco's assistant did not disappoint in the endless comedy he provided. But overall the love story was there and I loved every minute of the journey A.M. Madden took me on.
"Marco's staff. Marco's stiff staff. Marco's stiff staff happy. Marco's stiff staff happy in me. Holy shit…what's happening to me?"

So so good! 5 beautiful shining starts!
I have just embarked on a pleasurable whirl-wind romantic cruise that left me smiling and ready to set sail for warmer weather. Love on the Horizon is a sexy and sweet romance that provides the reader the perfect escape to the winter season.
Lost and ready to find herself, Rebecca sets out on her own adventure in the world of Cruising. She is a strong willed, beautiful character that knows how to bring a smile to everyone’s face. She is ready to take on this new world when she gets a glimpse at her new boss. Suddenly her heart stops and her libido takes over, but does she really want to mess up this new, exciting opportunity by getting involved with her boss?
Marco is tall, dark, handsome, Italian and absolutely irresistible. I am sure he would melt the ice on an Alaskan cruise. But beyond that, his charm comes from his personality. Considerate and caring, yet dominant when warranted, Marco is the total Book Boyfriend package.
Then enter the BFF, Ricky. I mean, where can I find one of these? Because he is THE BEST. He made this story. I adore an expertly crafted secondary character who really helps bring the story to life, and that is exactly what A.M. did with Ricky. Bravo!
Enjoy this delightful romance. It’s time to set sail. Bon Voyage!

From the very first page I was laughing out loud. A.M. Madden's writing style keeps the readers attention the entire time. The story was absolutely fantastic and very easy to relate to. I can not wait to read more from these characters!!!
College Graduate, Rebecca Stanton, hasn't exactly found her dream job. She still lives at home and is ready to venture out. She comes across a job opportunity with a new cruise line, and she is out the door ready for her next adventure.
Marco Puglia is the tall, dark, handsome, Cruise Director with Sunset Cruise Line that Rebecca didn't see coming.
When Marco and Rebecca meet sparks fly. There are many job related obstacles in their way of romance. Can they find a way around it?? Find out in this amazing book of finding yourself, exploring new destinations, and maybe falling in love along the way.
I'm telling you, you don't want to miss this hot, laugh out loud book. Marco is a swoon worthy character that will set your panties on fire!!! I highly recommend Love on the Horizon by A.M. Madden. Five out to sea stars!!!
Rebecca Stanton is fed up with not being able to use her degree and has been let go from another low paying job at Hooters. One night she sees a commercial for a cruise line and goes onto their website looking for jobs. She needs a change and she thinks traveling if the answer. Marco Puglia is a new cruise director for the new ship the Horizon, being recently promoted. He interviews Rebecca in Florida for a entertainment position aboard the Horizon. Rebecca gets hired, even though she's not quite qualified and secretly likes Marco from first sight. Marco fights how much he likes her back because he's her boss and it's against the rules. Marco's assistant, Ricky helps them each figure out what they want from the other and helps them get it. What happens when all hell breaks loose and someone reports them to corporate? Follow them as they deal with the aftermath and fight for what they want with each other and their families. This is a MUST READ!!!
I was lucky enough to receive this book in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! This is a book about love at first sight and A.M. Madden nailed it. Marco and Rebecca had a chemistry and love that was off the charts. Between the love of Marco and Rebecca, the families, their good friend Ricky, and of course throwing a villain in there, this book had me captured from page 1. I had a ton of different emotions that this book pulled from me, and I could easily relate to it. I can't wait to read more about these characters as I loved them!
Absolutely such an amazing story of love at first sight that had me devouring Marco & Rebecca's story. I couldn't get enough of Marco, I couldn't put my kindle down. Their love for each other and there passion was off the charts. They were made for each other and they wouldn't let anyone come between them. I love Ricky and hoping we get a story for him. Another amazing story that I will always think of. I excited for Sam's story even though he was an ass lol.
Rebecca Stanton is in a rut. She's just graduated from college with a degree that isn't getting her a real job and hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt. She doesn't think she can sink any lower, but when she's fired from her job at Hooter's she's proven wrong. The youngest of five kids, she's living with her parents in New Jersey and needs to do something drastic. When she sees an ad for cruising she gets the idea of working on a cruise ship. Her classes in marketing should help. Her family thinks she's crazy but when she scores and interview in Florida, she can't pack her bags fast enough.
"Rebecca Anne Stanton, this is a stupid idea!" "Mom, I'm pretty sure this is the smartest thing I've done since graduating. I love you. I'll be fine. Just wish me luck."
Sunset Cruise Lines Corporate offices are impressive. When she is interviewed by more and more people, she thinks that maybe she may score the job for the Entertainment Staff Coordinator. Her next to the last interview is with Ricky Burrows. He's an eccentric overly enthusiastic assistant to the Cruise Director. These two hit if off right away and he can't wait for her to meet Marco Puglia. He's the new director originally from Florence. He's worked with the line for the last seven years.
The moment the Italian Adonis walked into the room, Rebecca almost lost it.
Either he hadn't noticed the drool that dampened my chin or he was completely used to women reacting like a St. Bernard in need of a water bowl.
The interview goes well, in spite of Rebecca's loss of concentration. Since this is a dual POV story, we can read Marco's thoughts.
Regardless of my limited choices, Rebecca would be off-limits. I would be her boss...a no-no. Hiring her would make my life hard. Yet, letting her walk away after now meeting such an exquisite creature would be harder.
Thus starts an adventure on the high seas. Marco gives her a wide berth-he can't afford to cross the line and create problems for either one of them. Rebecca is put off by his sometimes impersonal treatment of her. He finds out that she is hurt and tries to make up for it. Then there are the complications from the cruise line itself. And interfering ex's. And meddling family members. There seems to be no end to the obstacles that these two face. But when it's real it's real and rough waters are no match for true love!
"Life isn't about a few special moments. It's about millions and millions of moments, both good and bad, that all fuse together to create a colorful life."
This book was just what I needed after finishing The Bronze Horseman- light-hearted, sweet, and fun. It’s such a feel good romantic comedy, a story that will have you laughing and swooning from one page to the next. A perfect palate cleanser from all the angst and drama.
Rebecca is a girl after my own heart- a threesome with Ben & Jerry? Been there, done that, have the belly rolls to prove it. She’s funny, ("...the entire Italian package had me crossing my legs in an attempt to keep my liquefied insides from pouring out of my hoo-ha."), she’s sassy, and she’s fresh out of college, anxious for all that life has to offer. But a stint as a waitress at Hooters isn’t quite what she imagined for her future, so determined to make some changes she leaves everything behind and sets sail on the high seas.
Marco, the sexy Italian cruise director. Marco, Rebecca’s boss. Marco, who can’t leave Rebecca alone, even though he knows he should. "I couldn't allow her to...to...you know, sex me up."
They try their best to fight their attraction, but thanks to their meddling, loveable, determined friend and coworker Ricky, these 2 really stood no chance- Cupid Ricky was having none of that! "She can't keep walking around here like a love-sick teenager, and you can't continue walking around here with a humongous chubbie." Ahhh, forbidden love! But not only forbidden love, but forbidden love on a cruise ship? Is there anything hotter? I don’t think so! These 2 are so sexy together. But also sweet and loving, and you can really feel their connection.
Of course with love it’s never smooth sailing, and Rebecca and Marco run into their fair share of obstacles- a disgruntled ex or 2, an unhappy employer, frustrated and upset families. But when you have each other, and Ricky, are you really going to let any of these stand in your way? Not a chance!
Even with the complications that presented themselves, Rebecca and Marco always had each other’s back, and never wavered in their commitment to each other…and that’s one of the things I loved about this book. So many times things like that would cause such drama between the H/h, but this is a romantic comedy after all, and drama is not welcome!
If you're looking for an enjoyable, entertaining, engaging read, climb aboard Love on the Horizon and let your worries drift away!
A.M. Madden has certainly delivered a sweet, romantic, at times quiet funny tale of love at first sight. What better setting to find this romance than on a cruise ship. Now before you go yeah right this is not your typical vaca on a cruise ship but working on a cruise ship. LOTH has so many feel good moments you can’t help but fall in love with Marco and Rebecca.
Rebecca Stanton finds herself unemployed, frustrated and in need of a new job. Looking for adventure, her search is answered when she spies an ad for cruise ship group director. Leaping at this opportunity she packs her bags and head to Ft. Lauderdale…over her Mother’s objections and determined to get this job.
Marco Puglia, Italian, single, sexy as h* ll and Cruise Director on Sunset Cruise Lines ship Horizon. This Adonis had worked his way up the company ladder to this position and had recently been assigned to the brand new ship, Horizon. Having the final say in who worked for, Marco, found himself unprepared for his meeting with Rebecca. I had to laugh at how his interview with Rebecca would stray to indecent thoughts of what he’d like to be doing with her. Needless to say she got the job.
Rebecca was a natural as the group director, making her a valuable asset but also making it impossible for Marco to hold onto his self-control. Avoiding her only heightened his desire and at the same time would confuse her into thinking that she was meeting expectations with her work. Little did Marco know that Rebecca was just as infatuated with him?
Aww, enter Ricky, Rebecca’s BFF onboard but also Marco’s assistant. Observing from the sidelines he could see the chemistry between them. I loved Ricky!! He was a romantic at heart and it was him finally playing Cupid that pushes these two together. The little stinker was awesome the way he planted tidbits in both Rebecca and Marco head. Playing one against the other. HE was EPIC!!
I love a dirty talking, smoking hot, alpha male as well as the next person but I have to tell you I totally fell for Marco! Romantic, sweet, just a really good person all around, how could you not just love him?
I was given an ARC of this story in exchange for my honest review.
As a long time fan of A.M. Madden I was really anxious to get my hands on this one. Yet again I was blown away.
I really found Rebecca's character relatable. She was a free spirit trying to find her place in the world. Where did she want to go? Who did she want to be when she grew up? I admired her courage and determination. Once she made a plan she walked it out and pursued it tirelessly. She was a bit flighty, sometimes I felt like she was a little immature as well, but the story was just as much about her growing up as it was a love story.
Marco was, in a lot of ways, the opposite of Rebecca. He was somewhat older and mature. He was established in his career and had a game plan. He was completely unprepared for Rebecca and how to handle his attraction to her.
One of my favorite aspects of this story was that once they fell in love, the story was far from over. I enjoy authors who aren't afraid to show that sometimes your happily ever after takes a bit of work.
Rebecca and Marco faced many obstacles together, animosity and resistance from family, trouble at work and life in general. Their love stood strong despite everything thrown at them. It wasn't always easy, it wasn't a neat pretty package but it worked.
I enjoyed the differences between Marco and Rebecca's families while at the same time how similar they were. Somethings are universal.
I am definitely looking forward to reading Sam's story but I have to say I really fell in love with Ricky. M/M isn't something Ms. Madden's written before but I would be so excited to see him get his own story!
This is a standalone (though I always recommend reading any of Ms. Madden's previous work) and Sam will be getting his story soon.
This book features lots of Italian, it's almost all translated but I would recommend having google handy.
As always the feels were very real and the heat factor was off the charts. Marco was so dreamy!!! He was as passionate out of bed as he was in and Rebecca met him in every way!
Wow this is the first book I've read by A.M Madden.. but it wont be the last, after reading Love on the horizon I will definitely read more books by this author
Love On The Horizon is a really awesome, romantic adventure read
I was honestly gripped from the first chapter... its the kind of book that keeps you guessing as to which way the story will lead, which keeps you turning the pages... its was a really exciting read
In Love On The Horizon we meet Rebecca, she is a collage graduate and is kind of at a place in her life where she feel's "stuck", she feels like she isn't doing anything with her life
She needs a job and sees an advert for employment on a cruise ship.. after thinking t through she decides to go for an interview, it might just be the change in her life that she needs
Rebecca is awesome at the interview and is given the job... and that's where she meets Marco... the cruise director (oh my, he is one hot, sexy man)
There is an instant attraction to one another... Its Hot !!!
But Rebecca is now Marco's employee.. and the ship has a no fratanizing policy nothing can happen between them as it is strictly forbidden...
but is it worth the risk???
Read and find out
Love On The Horizon has a lot of lol moments that had me nearly crying laughing, Ricky (Marco's assistant) is so, so funny he honestly needs his own book.. I really loved him and he made the book that bit extra special
there is also a lot of bumps, twist and turns for Rebecca and Marco.. they have in no way a easy ride We get a lot laughs and drama in Love On The Horizon.. but we also get an amazing beautiful love story
This book really effected me, the love between Marco and Rebecca was really sweet and touching (total swoon)
I also felt like I knew the characters personally, they felt so real that I felt a connection to them.. which I love in books :)
Love On The Horizon was a very touching, hilarious, swoony romance read
Rebecca Stanton just graduated college, she has a degree but finding a job has become a challenge, and living with her parents is not working for her. When she sees an ad recruting people to work for a cruise line, she packs her bags and goes to Florida for an interview. Is there where she meets Marco Puglia, the cruise director, and she falls in complete and total lust. Marco has been with the cruise line for seven years, originally from Florence, Italy, he loves and is devoted to his job. While he too feels an incredible attraction to Rebecca, he considers her off limits, but the heart wants what the heart wants and a forbidden romance begins.
But is their bond strong enough to survive the envy of some, company policies and to families set on their ways?
This is a very sweet love story about the struggles of a young couple to make their relationship work as well as to make those close to them understand that the love between them is the real thing. Mrs. Madden did a great job developing not only the storyline but the characters. I had a bit of a hard time relating to Marco at the beginning but as the story progressed he definitely won me over. Rebecca shows throughout the story that she had one heck of a back bone, not letting anyone get on the way of her future with Marco, their families included. And Ricky...oh how I LOVED him! He might've been just a secondary character in this story but his light definitely shines bright.
If you're looking for a romantic story with an easy flow from beginning to end and adoring characters that will make you admire their tenacity to make their dreams come true, this is definitely a book you won't want to miss.
