NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY bestselling author Melanie Shawn writes HEAs filled with sweet and sassy heroines, heroes who are cinnamon rolls in the streets alpho-holes in the sheets, casts of supportive *cough: meddling* friends and family who put the fun in funny, toe-curling combustible heat, and sugary sweet “aww” moments that will have your hearts and e-readers melting.

I loved this book because of Amy's shyness at times and her professional way at times that she dealt with this little project of hers. She made me laugh as well as cry. She has a beautiful heart and a wonderful soul.
I also loved this book because of Matt. His patience with Amy and his heart to heart with his uncle embedded him in my heart for certain.

Snow Days by Melanie Shawn, book six of The Hope Falls Chronicles Series.
Amy Maguire wants passion in her life, Matt Kellan is grieving for his one lost love. They agree to a no strings attached relationship but ultimately get more than they both bargained for. Passion ignites between Amy and Matt, but does heartbreak follow as their hearts collide? Some old favourite characters make an appearance in Amy and Matt's story, making Snow Days another great instalment in The Hope a Falls Chronicles Series.
This is the first time I've ever read anything by Melanie Shawn. I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet story. Amy is an almost 30 year old high-school teacher looking to spice up her life. Matt is widow just trying to find to way to start his life back up again. When Matt moves to Hope Falls and starts teaching at the High School he is immediately taken with Amy. The two soon form a close bond of friendship and questioning if they should take that friendship to the next level. This book had a good mixture of humor, sadness and some bow chick a wow wow. I really enjoyed it!
I love Hope falls series, (as all the other books Melanie Shawn has written) but I believe this is my favorite! Matt and Amy's story is hilariously funny, with delightful clumsy moments, mixed with stressful situations of at-work-romance -- not to mention at work in high school in front of all the students! It is luscious, precious, captivating, and sweet, even delicate with Amy's first love and Matt's second chance in HEA.
What a delight! The relationship between Matt and Amy progressed in such a natural and lovely way. It feels real in many ways. I really liked to have two main characters that were honest with each other and themselves about their relationship.
Also, the fact that Matt was a mischevious flirt and that Amy's eyes and blush tell on her all the time what she was feeling made things even more fun!
thoroughly entertaining,Laugh out loud, sexy, fun, flirty and original. lOvE the continuation of Hope Falls characters and the true friendships and family bonds that are present. beautifully written with a great story line. the next one looks quite awesome as well :)
i never thought about the complexities of teachers dating before. To have to see each other in a confined space with gossiping teenagers must be added stress. I truly hope those dating stories were based on drunken imaginings instead of something someone had to suffer through. Otherwise they were funny as all heck.
This was the first Melanie Shawn novel I read. I didn't realize it was part of a bigger series when I started it. It could definitely be a great stand-alone book. It was funny, heartwarming, and sexy. Can't wait to check out Snowed In.
Matt lost his wife Jess five years ago and has decided it is time for a change. So he leaves both his sister's and his nephew in Arizona and heads for his new teaching position in Hope Falls, where his uncle Henry lives. On his first day, he learns that he will be sharing his home room with Amy as his isn't done yet. Amy can't find her bag with all of her "private" folders in it. She has looked everywhere, why oh why did she think it was a good idea to bring them with her? What they contained could get her in trouble if they fell into the wrong hands. Granted, none of them have names on them. It's the subject matter inside she doesn't want anyone to know about. Then she remembers that she had been looking at them when the principal introduced her to the new guy, and she had hurriedly pushed them back in her bag and under her desk. She hurries back to her classroom and can't believe what she sees! Matt has her folders out, and it looks like he is reading them! No! He explains that he kicked them over under the desk not knowing what they were by accident and they spilled out and he was trying to ascertain who they belonged to as there didn't seem to be any names on them. As she gathers them up, she explains they are for some research she's doing. Then he asks what kind, and she explains a little about it, and he asks if he can be a part of it. He is the only male who would be a part, so she accepts his offer. What kind of questions will she ask him? Will he answer all of them just as the females did? What happens when she explains phase two to him? Will Amy and Matt be able to conduct her "experiment" and not get caught, not only by her friends and family, but also by the kids they teach and their colleagues, but each other? You will need to read this great story by Melanie Shawn to find out!
So, overall the story was a good story, but some of it just really felt juvenile. I'm totally going to have spoilers so don't read the rest of my review if you don't want to have some spoilers.
Amy is very systemic about the way she goes around finding a date and rating people and the anticipation of moving to phase two. Her dates of course are going horribly, because welcome to the world of online dating. Though hers were definitely over the top ridiculous. But that was fine. It made for funny stories for her to tell Matt.
Amy and Matt definitely had some chemistry brewing and it was great to read and explore. However, when they decided to take it to phase two, which is getting physical, It felt like the author was reading about young adults as opposed to grown people with the words used in the book.... "Pleasure button" and "snug, wet passage" isn't sexy. At all. It killed the moment in words for me. Ironically, instead of calling it by its proper name and doing the same for Matt's "manhood" or "shaft" as she used. She also called it what it was - a penis. Which I'm good with. But overall, the sexy scenes were kind of ruined with pleasure buttons language. It really felt juvenile for written by somebody who can't say clit without blushing. And Matt didn't strike me as the kind of guy who can't say clit in his mind.
Nikki was also a bit obnoxious in this book. She comes around when her sister's sick and invades her space. But then when her sister is actually hurting from this breakup, which she was also super crazy emotional about, her sister was nowhere to be seen. Considering how intertwined she was in the story before, it didn't really make sense that she wouldn't be around for an entire two weeks to not realize. Amy is hurting and what not.
Plot: Matt has recently moved to Hope Falls, hoping for a fresh start after the death of his wife (five years prior). He's the new history teacher at the local high school and the first person he meets at work is Amy, with whom he'll be sharing a room during his planning period. She's enchanting and exactly right for him - but only if he's willing to make a decision to move on.
Commentary: Standard fare, the two of them obviously like each other and everyone around them is rooting for them. They just have to get it together. I felt like there was a lot that was just glossed over. It's probably not unusual for a widower to still be wearing his wedding ring years later, but while he's dating someone else? That seemed a little, maybe insensitive at best? My one true complaint was that it ended so abruptly, but I find that is standard practice for this author, unfortunately.
This was truly an story of mixed emotions - one I could definitely relate to especially when you don't know what direction your life is going to go years later.
As this story went on, it felt like what Amy was looking for was right in front of her the day Matt walked through the door of the school.
Matt was definitely unsure of himself when he moved to Hope Falls and not expecting to fall in love after five years of being a widower, but there he was, finding out he was ready to move on.
I am skipping all over the place with Melanie's series - I am finishing Book 5 with "Second Chance Fate" in Hope Falls: Brewed Awakenings. Here is what we find:
Caleb Harrison stepping into the role as senior paster after his father retired, becoming as the known "Hot Pastor." He has become I "vital sensation."
Here comes singe mom Rebecca Taylor who grew up in foster care - living a life in survival mode. On a 2000 mile run to Hope Falls comes a unexpected reunion of her son's biological father. She is looking for a new life. Sometimes love finds a way back to a small town where two hearts collide. Can they find their way back to each other?
This so far is my favorite story in the series. These stories are light, happy ending, cozy type romances. They are filled with beautiful people who live in a perfect little town & want for nothing more than to find comfort in their perfect match & their chemistry, without fail, draws them together like magnets. They are light & fun reading, you can lose your troubles in for a couple of hours. I do have to note however, I found a couple of things really off-putting in this particular story. The author(s)' description of Amy & Matt's fellow teachers were derogatory, stereotype, caricatures & also that the author(s) descibed them as being all old, in their 50s. :/ Guess what Melanie & Shawna, I'm a teacher & I'm 50. Uncool ladies!

Matt loved and lost. He isn't looking to repeat that pain. Amy is shy, but is looking for new experiences. Approaching a relationship like she does everything, she starts with research. But when that turns out to be an epic fail, she's about to give up, until she agrees to share her classroom with the new history teacher. Will Matt realize a second chance is just what his heart needs before Amy walks away? Melanie Shawn has done more than write sweet romances. They have created a welcoming small town where everyone is received with open arms and no one is ever a stranger. Loose yourself in Hope Falls.
Everything was going so well until they started talking about 'phase 1 and phase 2' BS. It was so stupid. It made them appear young and childish but I would swear the h was 29, 30. I thought the storyline was going to take the route with them dating but the H still pining for his dead wife but yet trying to see how to sort his feelings for the h. Not yet taking his wedding ring off. Anything but how it went.
I really enjoyed Amy and Matt's story! Amy is trying to re-discover herself and Matt comes to town to start over. These two both teach at the high school and share a prep period when Matt finds Amy's research. Matt offers to help Amy, but only if they keep their hearts out of it. Love Amy's family and friends! Amy and her sister, Nikki's dog, are hilarious! Amy has Scooby and Nikki has Scrappy! Love the adventures of those two dogs. This was such a good book! Love this series!!
Amy and Matt make quite a pair. He is finding himself after a loss and she is trying to find her true self. Along the way what starts as a journey for her and him moving to Hope falls they find the forever he never thought he would have again and the one she always wanted. I have read this series before and loved it enough to reread.
This story with Amy and Matt is interesting, because it deals with a widower trying to figure out whether he can ever love again. I really felt sympathy for his struggle. Amy is a great heroine. She's not bold, but she is determined. The side characters are great.
Cute story, likable couple. Matt lost his wife and never expected to fall in love again until he met Amy. Not too hard to figure out how the story goes. I didn’t like some of the dialogue. And I can’t stand the abrupt endings this author likes.
Amy and Matt, two teachers that get together an unusual way. He was married before but his wife died and although he will love her in his heart forever, he's in love with Amy. Loved this book 6.
Melanie Shawn is very adept at bringing the readers right into the plot. I'm reading this series the second time around and the books are still great the second time.
