Hope Falls #11

Magic Kiss

Rate this book
He’d lost his best friend…
Logan Dorsey left the military and his job as an undercover detective, but he still couldn’t shake the nightmares that haunted him. The only thing that had ever silenced the horrors for the chiseled former Marine was the one woman that was untouchable for so many reason…

She’d lost her husband…
Emma Locke wrote romantic stories for a living despite the fact that her happily-ever-after had been taken away years ago. The gorgeous, blue-eyed, twenty-six year old widow and single mom had nothing in her life to connect her with the love and heat she needed to write about. Nothing to inspire that kind of passion...except the one man that was off limits.

They say time heals all wounds, but can it also be enough to grow new love?

Read my updates for the reason why. Adults should never use phrases like 'pussy-whipped' to a child. What sort of image does that give about women? Euw.

Paige's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I really enjoy this series and Magic Kiss is no exception. Magic Kiss is book 11 in the Hope Falls Series but, like the others, can be read as a standalone.
Emma is a mother and widow whose been on her own a long time and from a very early age. She had tough love parents and the love of her life was taken from her too soon. She has had a successful career as a writer (love her pen name) but she is in a bit of a slump. She draws story ideas from her personal life and needs to find the passion again to finish her books.

Good things come to those who wait and Logan has waited a long time for Emma. Logan held his feelings back because he was like a brother to Andrew, her late husband. They both realize that there's chemistry between them when they spend the summer living together thanks to her son Drew.

The friends to lovers scenario was sweet. They never forgot who brought them together, Andrew. They kept his memory alive without the sadness and guilty that may have followed. I think Drew also helped both bridge the gap between Logan and Emma. He was well written and adorable .

I also loved reconnecting with the other characters in the series. After reading the epilogue, I'm excited to read more about Lucky and the reconciliation with Logan's dad.

Sometimes life delivers more than we could ever dare to hope and dream for, and in this new instalment to Hope Falls series, Logan and Emma are about to be delivered with so much adoration, devotion, and love, that it will leave you breathless, and smiling, cause there's no one else, that would deserve a HEA, more than Emma and Logan.
Logan is haunted by the ghost of his past, he has witnessed and lost so much while risking his life to serve his country. The night terrors, the restlessness, and need for solitude keeps a tight hold of him and his thoughts. He lost his mother at a young age, his father was a hopeless drunk, but he and his twin brother grew up to be good men, despite the odds, thanks to their older brother, who gave up his dreams to raise the up. Logan doesn't believe in love, doesn't believe in relationships and forever, and has managed to stay away from so far. The only constant in his thoughts, is the one woman he can't even think of, his best friend's widow, Emma.
Emma is a true superhero, mom and married at 16, widowed by 20, and surviving, making it all happen, on her own. Her family turned their back on her when she became pregnant, the only one she could rely on, is his son Drew's godfather, Logan, who she hasn't seen in four years, after an incident in her kitchen drove him away.
Now life, and Drew, has brought them together at the cabin in the Hope Falls, and the old attraction is burning high. They are fumbling in a lust filled haze, trying to avoid the feelings they have for each other.
The inner thoughts, the conversations in their heads, that they have, as they aspire to talk themselves to keep the distance, are ongoing and at times hilarious.
There are several moments that are so touching, as they live like a little family in the cabin. When Drew says thanks to Logan, for taking care of his mother, it is like a tribute to all single mothers out there. Like Emma's life in general is, the sacrifices she makes, the time she invests, and the love she pours out, just hoping it is enough to Drew without a father.
But Logan would do anything for Emma, they are so perfectly in tune, it is amazing and unique. His protection of her is endearing, he's one of a kind memory helps him to remember small details from their past, and for once Emma is being pampered with attention and care.
And when they finally get together, the union is scorching hot, sexy and yet so beautiful. Logan and Emma are natural together, the sexy scenes are captivating, because of the feelings and emotions, Emma and Logan go through, the unity they have. It is like they see to each others soul, deep into the person they are, accept it, embrace it, admire it, and love it. Like they finally found the place they belong, their home.
The story is not only filled with Logan and Emma's story, but there are several visits from the previous characters with surprises included. All Hope Falls books are stand-alone novels, but this series is filled with swoon worthy romance, memorable characters, big emotions, humor, laughter, and a few tears, in a midst of a caring community, and I would recommend every book in the series.
For Logan and Emma's unforgettable and emotional story

This book was amazing. I am a big fan of the author and I have read every single Hope Falls book and this is by far the best book in the entire series. It was simply magic. It was a beautiful love story between newcomer to the series Emma, and Logan Dorsey (brother to Levin and cousin to Adam).

Part of the magic of this story is that it is not one love story but three. Yet I fell in love with all three stories and wanted to keep reading about all three. The first kiss between Emma and Logan happens 53% into the book and what an amazing kiss that was. They only have sex at 65% but I never felt slighted. Every word and scene really made me smile and laugh and even had me screaming at my kindle. This book was a wonderful feel good story.

So the three love stories in this book featured:
1. Emma and Logan (our hero and heroine)
2. Kade/Patrick and Tina (make believe characters in author Emma’s book series)
3. The love story behind Emma and her 1st husband who died in Afganistan. He was Logans best friend and thru Logan’s eyes you really get to know him and his deep love for his wife at the time Emma. Logan was never jealous and he really showed how much Emma had been loved, more than even she knew, so that was pretty romantic and beautiful to read.

This story is like nothing I have read before before in that Emma met her 1st husband on the first day of high school. They fell fast for each other and she ended up pregnant at 16. They married and had a wonderful marriage until he died at 20. Since then Emma has pretty much taken care of her son, Drew and been a recluse. Her only real friend or contact has been with her son’s godfather which is Logan, who stayed in the military until now when he is in Hope Falls recovering mentally from his last mission.

The story begins when Drew runs away from his camp and finds Logan in Hope Falls. Emma is in NY at meetings relating to the series of books she has been writing over the last six years, when she finds out Drew ran away to Hope Falls she decides to come visit Hope Falls and that’s really when the fun begins.

This book was pure magic. I have enjoyed this whole series but this book was pure fun. I was just sorry the book ended. I could have kept reading more. Emma is a wonderful character and I loved getting a glimpse into an authors world and how they create a story. I loved how famous she was and she didn’t even realise it and I loved book club. She definitely made it even more fun than the normal Hope Falls book club. There is a wedding in this book and it was wonderful. I am not sharing who gets married, but it made this book even more magical.

First I have a thing about books who's main character is a writer. I know you are supposed to write what you know, but I feel that most books with a main character who is a writer are taking a short cut.

In this book, Emma is a romance writer, and I feel that the secondary storyline from the book she was writing took away from Emma and Lucas. For me a Melanie Shawn book is like diving into the deep end of a swimming pool; I become totally immersed in the book. I did not feel that depth of story in this book.

On an editing note, there should be some type of font change or italic of font when the story changes to the book within the book. You need a visual break so you know you are going into another story. I found these transitions to be a bit confusing.

On the upside, Drew was a total delight and I enjoyed seeing Charlie and how he grew.

On to book 12.

Imagine returning to your hometown after being away for a long time. Hope Falls and Melanie Shawn’s series somehow has that magical effect. I had been looking forward to Logan’s HEA and I have to say I think his is one of my favorite love stories.

Logan Dorsey is a brooding, super sexy, former Marine/ex-undercover cop who has been through a lot. He lost his friend and partner with the NYPD, is dealing with his father trying to re-enter his life after walking out when he was a kid, has PTSD and lost his best friend Andrew during the war. He's come to Hope Falls to take a "voluntary" break from his job with the NYPD and to try to reconnect with his dad. In his mind he’s too effed up and doesn’t deserve to be with Emma, the one person who is forbidden and the only person who has ever caused a spark in his heart. I’ll always hold a soft spot for military men and Logan was no exception

Emma is Logan's best friend Andrew's widow. She's a single mom and author of a really popular steamy romance series. Just like Logan she’s also gone through a lot. She’s been in survival mode for the last ten years after getting pregnant at 16, getting abandoned by her parents and becoming a widow before being able to even legally buy alcohol. She’s had no time to do anything other than work and take care of her son Drew. The last time she saw Logan there was an incident in her home in Seattle which caused him to bolt and not visit for over 4 years.

When Logan unexpectedly gets a knock on his door with Drew on the other side with questions about his late father he doesn't realize his world is about to be flipped upside down and righted in the most awesome way. Circumstances cause Emma to have to stay with him for the summer and the spark that Logan was trying to repress surfaces whether he likes it or not. Forbidden love and lust lead to some super steamy scenes that will scorch your fingers while flipping the page. I was SO happy Logan and Emma got their HEA and loved being part of their journey. Melanie and Shawna did not fail to deliver in another awesome installment to the Hope Falls series. Toward the end of the book we meet Logan’s brother Lucky who is charming, witty and hilarious. I can’t wait to read his story! Do yourself a favor, pick up this book and you will fall in love with all the characters of Hope Falls, trust me, you won’t regret it :)

A heartwarming tale of finding love again after loss!

Emma Locke is a 26 year old widow and single Mom to 10 year old son, Drew. Her husband Andrew was a Marine killed in action 6 years earlier. After dealing with her initial grief, she had to find a way to support herself and her son, so she began writing romance novels. She became quite a hit with a series, pumping out book after book, but then writer's block hit. For the last 2 years, she's been trying to get the final 2 books of the series completed with no success.

Logan Dorsey was the Marine in charge the day her husband died. He and Andrew had gone through training together and forged a lasting friendship. He can't get over his guilt over making it home when Andrew didn't. He still suffers from PTSD and night terrors and is currently on leave with his job as a NYPD undercover detective while he gets his head together.

Emma is shocked when Logan calls her while she's in meetings in New York to tell her that Drew just showed up on his doorstep. Drew was supposed to be at camp, and snuck out and took a bus in the middle of the night to see his godfather, Logan. He wants to know his dad through Logan's eyes since they were best friends.

When Emma shows up to get Drew, sparks fly. After hearing how her meetings went with editors, etc., Logan invites her to stay a few weeks to work on her writing while he spends time with Drew while he's on summer break. They had avoided each other for 5 years because of the attraction they had felt for each other back then, with each feeling like the other was off limits because of their connections to Andrew. They again try to fight the sparks, but eventually decide they are going to enjoy their time together while she's there.

Will Emma and Drew be able to show Logan a type of love that he doesn't think can exist? He's never been in love, and had horrible examples during his childhood, so what does he have to go on? And will Logan be able to be the man that show Emma how special she is? Can they have a happily-ever-after or will they part ways when she heads home to Seattle and it's time for him to return to NY?

Magic Kiss by Melanie Shawn is quite possibly one of my favorite books in the Hope Falls series. Hope Falls is one of my favorite fiction places ever. It’s an awesome small town tucked into the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you have read Susan Mallery’s Fools Gold or Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor then you will love this series. My absolute favorite thing about this book and all Melanie Shawn books is that they always work in amazing pop culture reference. This book did not disappoint there was a Salt N Peppa reference and my personal favorite a Juvenile reference. It just doesn’t get better than that!

Ok back to the book what an amazing love story this one will grab you from the first page an keep a hold of you long after the book is over. Logan is a man who has seen a lot in his life; he joined the military at age 18 and served many years overseas. Then he came home and became an undercover police officer. Because of the things that he as seen and the things he did in the line of duty he feels damaged and unworthy of love. But all of that changes when his god son shows up unannounced on his door step. Emma is a woman who had done nothing but overcome obstacles her whole life, from being a teenage mother to losing her husband in combat. Despite all of these obstacles Emma has raised an amazing son and writes an extremely popular romance series. When through unexpected circumstances she ends up in Hope Falls with her son and his extremely sexy god father there sexual tension which leads to the steamiest scenes and the sweets love story. This is a great read and you would be a fool not to pick it up. However, do yourself a favor and read this one and then go back and start at the beginning of the series if you haven’t already, you won’t regret it.

Full of magic moments... This book is the latest installment in the Hope Falls series and once again, it is a wonderful story. The town of Hope Falls seems to be magical and it holds true in this book as the magic continues with Logan and Emma’s story.
Logan is an ex-Marine who is taking some time off from his job as an undercover cop. He needs time to regroup from the loss of his best friend, Andrew, in Afghanistan, as well as his partner who died in an undercover operation in New York. He comes to Hope Falls to decide for some R & R. The last thing he expects is a visit from Andrew’s widow, Emma and her son Drew.
Emma is the object of Logan’s fantasies… but he feels she is off-limits because she was married to his best friend. He made a promise to Andrew that he would watch out for Emma and Drew but he feels guilty harboring romantic feelings toward her. Little does he know he know that she has feelings towards him as well.
They are thrown together inadvertently by her son Drew who ends up on his doorstep after running away from camp. Emma is a well- known romance writer who is suffering from writer’s block so the idea of spending time in a secluded place away from the hustle and bustle and busyness of New York City is appealing to her… but will she be able to stand the heat and the obvious chemistry between her and Logan? (I loved the intertwining of the story that she is writing with the story of Logan and Emma.. very well done!)
This is a story of conflicted emotions and of second chances… you will enjoy this visit to Hope Falls.. I know I did! Their journey to their HEA is a magical one… one befitting the name of the book!

I feel like a broken record always saying how much I love Melanie Shawn books, but I'll just keep saying it because it's true! I so enjoy the visits we get to take to Hope Falls. The stories are always full of hope, love, family and a sense of belonging.

Logan Dorsey has known Emma Locke for years, as she was the wife of his best friend, Andrew, who was killed in the line of duty several years ago. Logan has always held a special place in his heart for Emma, but he never wanted to act on his feelings because he didn't want to betray his best friend, nor did he want Emma to have to deal with his emotional baggage.

Emma Locke finds herself as a single mother to 10 year old, Drew and her life seems to be at a bit of a crossroads. While she is in New York meeting with executives regarding her publishing deal for books she's currently struggling mightily to write, Drew decides to take a bus from the camp he's at to see his godfather, Logan. Drew wants to know more about his Dad and Emma knows that opening herself up to that, and also to the sexy Logan, may be more than she's ready to deal with.

This love story between Logan and Emma is sweet, touching, funny, emotional and poignant. I felt like I was reading about real life in this book and it made me happy to think that this could be happening for people just like you and me. Melanie Shawn crafted a story that makes you believe in all of the good things that can happen even if you've been thrown some roadblocks along the way.

I look forward to the next installment from Hope Falls!

The Hope Falls series is contemporary romance at its best. This book was a solid 4.5 stars for me and new releases are always on my automatic buy list.

I love a hunky, wounded, protective hero - and Logan is definitely that with his past experiences from the military and police force. Emma was widowed at a very early age with a small child and that has forced her to handle everything on her own and not rely on a man for assistance. Logan believes that he can't love - and then there's the fact that Emma is his best friend's widow and he believes he is betraying him. Emma also feels that way - that Logan is someone off limits for the same reason. However, they have an intense attraction that they can't ignore - and Magic Kiss is a beautiful story about two people that overcome their obstacles to have a life together. Yes, there are graphic sex scenes - but what I see in them is that it isn't just sex for the sake of sex, but that there is caring behind it, even if the characters don't quite realize they love each other yet!

The story flows smoothly and the writing style of the authors is smart, sassy and sometimes downright funny - there are some great one-liners. There are also scenes in the book that brought a tear to my eye - the wedding scene in particular (I won't spoil it, but it was not Logan and Emma!). It was great to see characters from previous books - that keeps the small town vibe alive for me. I can't recommend this book enough to those who enjoy contemporary romance...and then do yourself a favor and get the entire series - each book comes all wrapped up with a HEA which is why I read romance!

"Magic Kiss" is written by Melanie Shawn, and it is the 11th book in the Hope Falls series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Logan Dorsey and Emma Locke.

Emma's husband, Andrew, unfortunately lost his life while in the line of duty a few years ago. It left Emma a widow and a single parent. She's not used to having support. She doesn't know or remember what it's like to be able to depend on someone or feel that romantic connection. What's ironic is she's a successful romance writer, but she's having a writer's block. She doesn't know how to finish this story.

Emma's son, Drew, runs away from summer camp and goes to Hope Falls to visit Logan. He wants to know more about his father, and what better way to do so than to see Logan. Logan was Andrew's best friend. They were in the military together, and he's Drew's godfather. So Emma goes to Hope Falls to get her son. What happens when Emma and Logan see each other again? Will Emma find her inspiration to finish her latest novel? Will Logan realize he's capable of loving someone?

I have nothing, but praise for this book! It was simply beautiful, and so touching! "Magic Kiss" is honestly one of my favorite stories that I've ever read. Not only did I enjoy seeing Emma and Logan's relationship grow into something more, but I loved that we got to read what Emma was writing for her book. And of course, you continue to fall in love with all the characters we've seen throughout this series! Simply put, what an amazing job by the sister duo Melanie and Shawna!

Logan Dorsey has come to Hope Falls for some R&R. Logan was a Marine and is now works undercover NYPD. He's lived some seriously bad $(^*# and needs a restful location to regroup. Hope Falls is where his older brother Levi lives, so it seemed like a natural fit. EARLY one morning there's a knock on his door. When he opens it, there stands his 10 year old god son Drew. Logan and Drew's dad Andrew were Marines and best friends together. Andrew was killed in action and although Logan sends a check each month for Drew and his mom, Emma, he hadn't had any face time with Drew for 5 years. Drew had "run away" from camp to find Logan. He had so many questions about his dad and he was sure Logan would be able to answer them.
Emma, is a struggling single mom, trying to make life work as an author. Although her books have sold well, she has two more to write to fulfill her contract and she has severe writer's block. She's certain her meeting in NYC with her agent and publishing company will lead to them letting her go. They have a very different agenda for Emma and her books.
Emma and Drew end up staying with Logan while she works on her writing, but the block is still there. Emma decides to "seduce" Logan in the name of research. Logan has been fighting his attraction to Emma for five years and struggles with his inner demons. Emma was his best friend's wife. He shouldn't be feeling this type of attraction for her. The heat builds. Orgasm Junction...here we come!

It’s truly amazing how the sister duo of Melanie and Shawna pen these magical stories in Hope Falls taking readers into a world of hope and love, family and friends, hot guys and sassy ladies, riding on sweet romance and sizzling passion. They are enchanting, mesmerizing and totally gooey to read!

The latest couple to fall into the magical web of togetherness is Ellen Locke and Logan Dorsey, succumbing to a love that has grown over the years and only became stronger with time. As a romance writer, a young widow and a mother to an amazing kid, Ellen has yet to write her own happily-ever-after. Logan’s heart belongs to Ellen from the moment he’s been keeping an eye on her and his godson, since the time his best friend has laid his life at war.

This is one of the most emotional and brilliant stories of the sisters I’ve read. Complexity of emotions in its simple narration, the daily grind of a mother in all her professional glory, the love of a guy whose heart beats with the breath of his beloved – they paid attention to minor details, to the small nuances of daily life, cracking jokes at writers/authors, it was like reading a love story of an amazing writer. I loved the attention they paid to the adulation of knowing a bestseller writer, and the reaction of the general public and their friends.

“Magic Kiss” is just a riot of fun, frolic and happiness.

Another great read by Melanie and Shawna!!

This book had so much heart and emotion that I laughed, cried, and fell in love over and over.

Logan Dorsey is an ex Navy who has PTSD. He has guilt and nightmares of the lost of losing his best friend and being ambushed in Afghanistan. His only savior from this torment is knowing that he needs to be there for his best friend widow Emma and his godson Drew. Emma has the best job in the world she's a romance writer. The fact that Emma is a romance writer and having to deal with the grief and the lost of her husband must be hard to pen a story. The storyline between Emma and her late husband broke my heart. Then you have the storyline of Emma and Logan and it breaks your heart because of the inner turmoil they both have and yet you are rooting for both to have a happy ending. Sometimes life isn't fair and you just can't push what miracle or gift is in front of you. The feels for this book was beyond anything I have read and felt before. This book is so beautiful and heartbreaking all in one read. I just love how Melanie and Shawna push their story lines and take us on an unexpected journey. This book is another one of my favorites from them. Just loved it!! I highly recommend this book.

This is the 11th book in the Hope Falls Series. I must say this series just keeps getting better in better.

Emma Locke is a young military widow and mom to 10 year old son, Drew. She is supported them by writing well loved, sexy romance novels.
Her husband's best friend and former fellow Marine, Logan Dorsey is temporarily staying in Hope Falls taking a break from his undercover NYPD job after his partner is killed in the line of duty.

Drew is supposed to be at camp and he shows up unexpectedly on Logan's doorstep. Emma shows up to pick up Drew and thinks start sizzling between Emma and Logan. Logan talks Emma and Drew into staying with him while Emma works on deadlines for books.

They no longer can hide their attraction for each other after Emma talks Logan into helping her with 'research' for her books.

Their interaction is very heartwarming. Both of them have dealt with so much in their past that it is hard for them to let love in especially when one of them doesn't believe in love.

I really love how we get to revisit and catch up with characters from previous books in this series.

Magic Kiss is book 11 in the Hope Falls series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I enjoy reading them in order. Logan Dorsey is Levi Dorsey's brother and Adam Dorsey's cousin. He is an undercover NYC officer on leave from his job due to PTSD. His best friend Andrew was killed 6 years ago when they were in combat together. Logan blames himself for his friend's death. He is also godfather to Andrew's son Drew. Unbeknownst to him, Drew runs away from his sleep away camp and takes a bus to visit Logan in Hope Falls. Drew's mom Emma is the girl Logan can't stop thinking about, but he refuses to act on those thoughts because she is his best friend's widow. Emma ends up in Hope Falls when she goes to pick up Drew. She is a romance author dealing with a severe case of writer's block. She decides to use Logan as her muse to help write her two books on deadline. That leads them down the path to their happily ever after. I loved this story and would recommend it to anyone.

I can't express how much I love Melanie and Shawna, and the Hope Falls series..
I have followed them from the start and they still amaze me with their books..
This one was no exception..
logan is lost, he blames himself for leading his team into an ambush while in the navy...
His best friend died too, he vows to look after his wife and kid..
But his feelings for Emma change one night, he can't cope with seeing her.. So he runs, ending up at Hope Falls.. One day he finds Drew on his doorstep, wanting to know about his father.. Calling Emma to let her know where her son is, which brings her back into his life..
Their struggle breaks my heart.. Emma has thrown herself into bringing her son up without a father..
Logan's fight with PTSD tears me apart I just want.to hug him and maybe lick him (he's HOT)...
This story is written with so much love and care, it's beautiful.. This is a definite must read!!!

I am not sure where to begin with my review. I loved the book for so many different reasons. The main reason being that I felt that each character in the book was on a journey of rediscovery. Logan learned to let go of his guilt and find happiness and love in his life. Emma rediscovered her love of writing and found a new purpose in her life. Drew, Emma’s son, learned about his late father and found more happiness and contentment within him. I loved all the chemistry between Logan and Emma. I loved the sections where she was writing her book. You almost wished that it was a real series so could read it from start to finish. The characters felt real to me and I enjoy reading the book and going on their journey with them. It had its ups, its downs and its in-betweens. This book was full of love, forgiveness and fun. I would recommend picking this one up and giving it a read. It was definitely 5 stars. I can’t wait for Lucky’s book.

I'm 65% of the way through this book. I don't hate it. But I can say that I really liked it either. I enjoyed Logan's interaction with Drew. I liked his loyalty to his dead friend, Andrew. But I kept wanting to scream at him and his " She's an angel. I can't touch her. She's Andrew's wife." I got it. I didn't need to be beaten over the head with it.

I liked Emma's character in that she didn't allow becoming pregnant and married at 16 define her. I admire that after her husband was killed, she picked herself up and went on to find a way to support herself and her son. I could relate to her increasing fears as a parent as Drew got older.

I understood that Emma had never been with anyone other than her husband. That Logan had never been in love. But at times they, especially Emma sounded like teenagers rather than the adults they were. And the usage of words like "chub" "boner"; phrases like "on with Donkey Kong" really enforced that feeling.

I know I say this about all of these books but I'm going to say it again...this is my favorite!!!
First, you have Logan who is ex-military who is haunted by his nightmares. He lost his best friend in Afganistan.
The only thing that helps his nightmares are his fantasies about the one woman he can't have, Emma. Emma is the widow of his best friend.
Emma is a romance writer who wants her HEA. After her son sneaks out of camp and takes s bus to Hope Falls to see Logan, his Godfather. Needless to say, Emma must fly to Hope Falls to get her son but decides to stay and write her latest book, by getting inspiration from Logan. STEAMY, SEXY, ROMANTIC IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!! Also, you meet up with all of the Hope Falls gang as well.
The way these two write books is simply amazing...I laugh, I cry, and I pray they hurry up and finish the next book!

Magic Kiss

Emma and Logan

Melanie Shana are back in Hope falls with another wonderful story. It is the very poignant story of Emma and Logan. Logan served with Emma’s late husband. Emma is juggling mother hood, to a 10 year old, and a career as a writer with a case of writers block. When her son Drew decides he needs to visit his godfather Emma and Logan are brought together and they start to work on resolving the feelings that hey have had for each other. I thought this book was really well written, the characters well developed and the side stories were so well done and moved the story forward, the dialogue between the brothers (one reads her books and one does not) was so so funny! And her popularity with the women in the town by virtue of her writing was so great to see. I really enjoyed this addition to the series.

I just finished this book, and OMG. I can't say enough good things about it. The chemistry between Emma and Logan is crazy hot, and both of them attempt to fight it. Logan is an awesome hero, who is finding more of himself after not 1, but 2 tragedies in his past. It was awesome to see him grow as a person, and learn to forgive. I love Emma. She always seemed happy, and even with the cards she was dealt in life, she never gave up. I loved the story Emma was working on, and how it was playing out as we read. Do we get the end of that story before the end of Magic Kiss?? You will have to read it to find out. (Although I would really LOVE to read the book Emma was writing :) )

I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic contemporary romance

Great Read! Emma lost her husband in the war and it was heartbreaking to see how her and her son and also Logan was taking it. Even after all the years he has been gone, its still hard. Emma and Logan are brought together by her son. He wants to know more about his Dad so he goes to Logan. They have a great relationship and I love how Logan treats him, just like his on. When Logan and Emma are together or just close together, the fireworks go off. It's HOT. When they finally give into it, it's explosive but what happens when Emma tells Logan (a man who doesn't believe in love)that she loves him??? Make sure you read it and find out.

A writer, Emma, and a former Soldier, Logan, each have their own problems. Emma is a single mother after her husband, Andrew, was killed on duty. Logan was his best friend and tried to help Emma raise her son long distance. Logan realized how wonderful Emma was after Andrew died but felt he betrayed his friend's memory with his desire. Emma is in Hope Falls attempting to write and Logan is trying to recover from a disastrous mission. Can they be honest with themselves and each other?

A great read that leaves you wanting until the end.

You can never go wrong with a Melanie Shawn book, and this was no exception. Logan & Emma were the perfect match, and they never forgot who brought them together. You didn't get any sense that there was anything more than friendship between them prior to her husbands death, so there wasn't the forbidden "ick" factor. Drew was a great kid and you know that he will be well taken care of by Logan in the future. The extra glimpses into the previous characters lives' was wonderful as usual, and the extra hotness thrown in with Emma's characters was awesome too. Now to wait for Lucky's story...

I'm addicted to Hope Falls!

Each time I read a book in this series I'm frustrated when it ends. The characters just draw me in and as I near the end of the book I almost panic that I don't have something else this engaging to read after. Do I really have to wait until October to read Lucky's story? If you have not read any of Melanie Shawn's (actually two people) books, I highly recommend that you start at the beginning of the Hope Falls series. Just don't plan on getting anything done for the next couple weeks!
