When we left off Jace and Cat were rushing back to CA due to her mother's car accident in Malibu. Cat has to go back into her childhood home/prison because Angelica needs her to help her public image. They need to look like a loving family.

Once at Cat’s childhood home you start to see the true NASTY NATURE of Cat’s mother Angelica. How anyone could treat their daughter this way is very disturbing.

Cat suffers through it all and tries to keep her wits. Jace does not understand how Cat is the sweet loving girl she is. Jace is livid and wants to hurt all these people that speak to Cat like she is trash. This visit to her home will test Jace and Cat's relationship. Cat needs to stand up to her mother in order to ever be TRUELY FREE. When Jace stands up to Angelica she pulls out the BIG GUNS and is up to her cruel ways from trying to seduce Jace, digging up his medical records & discharge papers from the Marines, to actually bringing Natalya back into his life in an effort to break up Cat and Jace.

Cats last night is Thanksgiving and then her and Jace are home free and on their way back to college.

It ends with a cliffhanger over Thanksgiving dinner. Even more drama unfolds with Angelica as the head of the snake.

I honestly love the chemistry between Jace and Cat. And I love that Cat is different from other girls. She does not play games and tells it like it is. This will help Jace in the relationship because he is acquiring a lot of bagging in these books so far.

Onto book #3 and the final book in this series.

Rating: 3 1/2 STARS

Happy Reading!

From the beautiful world that Jace and Cat have created around them, since they met in “Someday Girl”, their journey takes them into the superficial world that Cat was forced to grow up. When her mother survives an accident in Malibu, Cat is drawn back into her mother’s life for boosting her public image, and creates an aura of a loving and supportive family. Living around a famous actress mother with a cruel tongue and a nasty mind, is no menial task for the young Cat.

The second book in the series, “One Day His” (The Someday Series) is the perfect battleground for love and hate, endurance and pain, support and relationships. It is also the grounds that would test the love between Jace and Cat. As Jace struggles to find a grip on the events happening around him, Cat draws strength from Jace to stand up to her mother. As Jace lends strength and support to Cat, Cat in her won quite way is trying to keep Jace getting into trouble by defying Angela.

I don’t think Angela as the cruel and selfish mother can be etched to more perfection. Melanie and Shawna did a fabulous job creating her. The continuing story gives Jace a picture of Cat’s life and an insight into her depth of character. It also gives shows him the reason Cat turned out to be the nice and humble, caring and loving person to all around her; because to be able to rise above a bad situations and become a better person is what makes Cat a sterling character…..a perfectly imperfect young adult.

Angela is no kid on the block. And she spares nothing to bring unrest, doubts and uncertainties between Jace and Cat. Jace is the spectator to the extent of her desire to split them, and now he faces a past that he had left behind and a past that he had no clue of.

Swords are drawn…….pawns in place……and the battleground is ready.

A fabulous continuation to Jace’s and Cat’s love story. And I can’t wait for Jace to make Cat his “Forever Girl”

The story of Cat and Jace continues with One Day His.
And it is as involved and intense, as the Someday Girl, part one, was.
I cherished to see how the relationship between Cat and Jace is growing, at the same time as they are growing themselves. They are learning to know each other, and trust each other. They truly seemed to have found home within each other. For the first time ever, they both are able to love and receive total support, and are cared for. The relationship is HOT and steamy, the heat level is high, but the relationship is so loving, and it is so beautifully written, it fits into the story well.
Cat is growing as a person, learning to stand up for herself, as she sees her old world through the eyes of Jace, while Jace is feeling centered by Cat's love and presence. The relationship, the depth of the feelings, between them is so exquisite and lovely.
The abuse Cat has suffered at home before she left for college is now even more evident, as Cat and Jace are visiting her mother's estate. The tension Cat's mom, creates around the house is palpable. Reading about her is like watching a train wreck, you see it coming, but there's nothing you can do to stop her, and no way can you put the book down either. The story pulled me in so tight, got so under my skin, I could feel the pain and devastation she left behind.
The story is written in first person, with both Cat's and Jace's point of views. The book ends in a cliffhanger, but thankfully, you don't have to wait for too long to get the next installment into your hands.
Yes, it is another five spoon performance from Melanie Shawn, with high recommendations. (And keep the tissues near by!)

Oh. My...
I fell in love with these two sister's writing with the first book in this series, Someday Girl. That book was amazing and pulled at my heartstrings. And then I had the pleasure to meet them at my first book event where I purchased all three books!
This beautiful story is continued to be told by both Cat and Jace's POV and that makes me such a happy person, you have no idea. Male POV's are my life! Jace is perfection that I swoon every time he's mentioned in this book... Anyway, these two are honestly one of the cutest and more perfect pairings I have seen. They bring out the best in each other and what's even better, is that they're still growing as a couple while growing as individuals. These two are so realistic that it's ridiculous. I say ridiculous because I want to meet them so bad! I want to hug their pain away, cry with them, laugh with them, and everything in between. These two are making me so unbelievably proud that it's breaking my heart that I am a step closer to finishing this series. Also, the steamy scenes are to die for!
Now for the characters I despise: Angelica and Natalya. Those two are one of the most disgusting vile women I have had the displeasure of meeting. Just when I think they can't any worse, oh, they prove me so wrong. These two horrible creatures bring out the worst in me and I just hope they get what they deserve in the end or I will forever be displeased with a couple authors!
Also, this ended in a massive CLIFFHANGER! I didn't expect the series to take the turn it did but I am so excited to see how it all plays out!! Seriously, I am glad I own the entire series because I would have been ripping my hair out wanting to know what happens next!

One Day His by Melanie Shawn is the second book of their New Adult trilogy. This story follows Cat & Jace as they rush to Malibu after Cat’s mother’s accident. They arrive to find her home and doing well.

This portion deals with the time Cat and Jace spend at Cat’s home and their interactions with her mother, Angelica, and Jerry, her mother’s manager. Cat is “on call” for her mother’s publicity tour which is to deflect any negative reaction to her car accident. Jerry & Angelica do their best to berate and verbally abuse Cat, in addition to placing her in awkward and uncomfortable situations. These two also dig up all they can on Jace in an attempt to break them up.

I was pleased with the way Melanie Shawn allowed the relation between Cat & Jace to become stronger, rather than allowing those “adults” to use their power to separate these two. I loved the raw feelings brought out as each deals with trying to protect the other. The way Jace deflects the pain in the house by taking Cat on a tour of the area is wonderful and exemplifies the love he has for her.

Although I highly recommend this book, I felt lost and sad when I finished this book. Not because I didn’t like it, but because it was done. I want to know what happens next for these two. I want to know that Cat has a lifelong friendship with her roommates. I want to know that she escapes the drama her mother creates. I want to know that Jace gets counseling to deal with his past and becomes better for himself and for Cat. Sigh, I guess I have to wait until the publication of Forever Us, the conclusion of this trilogy. This book is a must read book for fans of Melanie Shawn.

After reading the first book "Someday Girl" I was all smiles despite the cliff hanger. Now in the second book "One Day His" I was a ball of anxiety and stress. Melanie does it again! Her use of words and story telling get me to feel what Cat is felling.

In this book Cat goes back to Los Angeles to help her mom with PR regarding her car accident. Jace goes with Cat to give her the support and strength she needs in order to deal with her emotional crazy mother. Angelica James reminds me of Joan Crawford in "Mommy Dearest". The whole time I was reading the book that's what came to mind. She is a self absorbed bitch, crazy and emotional abusive to her daughter and anyone that double crosses her. This book gives us a taste of what Cat had to endure for 18 years of her life. Like I said before reading this book had me anxious, moody and stressed out. I took in all of Cat's emotion and it left me drained. Throughout the book not only is Cat dealing with her mother and trying to find her own voice, her relationship with Jace begins to form bonds of strength and unity. With Jace's love and support Cat starts to find the strength to stand up to her mom in certain occasion. It may not seem like much but it definitely shows growth and assertiveness in her character. I found myself cheering her on. The cliff hanger in this book left me screaming "WHAT?! WTF WTF WTF!" You'll just have to read the book to find out.

Once again Melanie leaves me an emotional wreck, riding the emotion roller coaster of her books. I love when I feel every emotion an author writes. Great job!! I can't wait for book 3 and find out what becomes of Cat and Jace.

This is book 2 of the Someday Series, that is Jace and Cat’s story. I recommend you read the first book in the series, Someday Girl, first as they really aren’t meant to be stand alone books.
In One Day His, Jace and Cat have traveled to Cat’s childhood home after her famous mother is in a car accident. Cat is unsettled, having left her freshman year of college, where she is experiencing life on her own terms for the first time. Cat is reliving the dynamics of her childhood, which gives Jace unique insight into what has shaped Cat as a person. This is mostly a story about insight into Cat and her childhood, as she and Jace continue to discover each other and deepen their love. They are faced with navigating Cat’s changing relationship with her ill mother and the crazy world that accompanies fame.
Cat and Jace are both flawed but relatable. I enjoy that the story is told from each of their perspectives.
There is a huge cliffhanger at the end of the book, which is not something I usually love. In this case, I’m not discouraged by it, since I know the next (and final) book in this series will be released next month.
I love the strong emotion that is evoked in this book. There were several points in which I was moved to tears. I also really like that this book acknowledges both of the main characters flaws and examines how they are working together in their relationship. This is a great, emotionally intense read. I highly recommend and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Jace and Cat!

Melanie shawn never fails to write an incredible story... In the second book of this trilogy, we see Jace and Cat taking a trip to Cats hometown after her mother's accident... Jace stands by Cat as her mother tries to belittle her, he finds it hard to sit and watch this spiteful woman, hurt the love of his life.. But no matter what is thrown at them, they get through it together.. Jace is her rock and they become even stronger.. Cats mother pulls out all the stops, to get at her daughter and when nothing works she plays even dirtier... Using Jace doesn't work, as Cat trusts him with her life...so now it's time for the mother of all bombshells... Will their incredible love and soul deep connection get them through, or will Cats mother win... I adore Melanie Shawns beautifully written stories, but she has surpassed my expectations... I can not wait for the final book in this amazing series!!! I can't recommend this book highly enough and couldn't give it less than five stars!!!

Wow the second book was just as incredible as the first. In this book you got to meet Cat’s mom and see what kind of a life she led before she went to college. Jace is her strength though out the whole book. Her mom works to try and come between them. It was amazing to see how Cat’s mom’s attempts only strengthened their love instead of destroying it. This book held my attention from page one and it didn’t let go until the very last page. I do have to say that I totally hated the cliff hanger at the end of the book and I can’t wait to read the conclusion of Cat and Jace’s story. I am sure that it will be filled with a lot of drama but I am holding out hope for a happy ending. I recommend you pick up this series and give it a try because I am sure that you will fall in love with Cat and Jace’s story just like I did.

Another page turner by Melanie Shawn! In 'One Day His' the journey continues for Cat and Jace. We come to see the true extent of the relationship Cat has with her mother, and I use that term in the purely biological sense since Angelique could not be a positive mother figure to anyone. We see the struggles that Cat faces while dealing with her deeply disturbed mother and how Jace continues to prove his love for her and be her strength when she seems to have none left. Will their love for each other remain strong despite the efforts of Angelique who pulls out all the stops to try to break Cat down. The last bomb she drops will have your jaw dropping! Will Cat and Jace be able to overcome this latest development? I can't wait to find out, bring on book three!

I read this straight after 'Someday Girl' and my thoughts from that book remain the same. That I love the Andy twins and Evelyn, they're good friends. But Cat and Jace are still pretty flat characters for me, I like Cats mother purely for the fact that she actually has substance to her character. She's a horrible person but at least the readers can identify her with that label, unlike Other characters who seem lost. I feel like natalya's character is great, she could have been tweaked slightly but it would have been great to see that character reach its full potential.

What a cliff-hanger of a read! Will Cat or Jace ever get a break in this series? Action packed drama and so much turmoil in the story with some endearing and some almighty nasty characters. The reader can't help but sympathise with Cat and Jace's characters and being drawn into the story, which has the reader asking what is going to happen in the next instalment in the Someday series.

Oh I am not sure where to begin with this one. The cliffhanger on this one was not as gratifying to me as the first one. I absolutely love these characters, but I am beginning to feel there is too much happening to them in such a short time, especially for as young as the characters are in the book. I really need the third installment to help me feel better about them and their relationship's future. 3.5 stars for me

I hate her, I hate her, I hate her. That is what has been going through my head every time Cat's destructive mother opens her mouth. I can't wait till the next book comes out. Melanie Shawn really knows how to write a great cliff hanger. She has me pulling my hair and biting my nails in frustration. All in all, great book.

This is a great book and love the way she explains things but it seems to me that it is over explained and keep explain over and over, wish there was more dialog with the mother and cat and jace instead of so much in the thoughts.

But great book and WOW what an ending bomb shell!!!
can't wait to find out if its true or not and what will happen!!!!!

This book picks up right where book 1 ends and I really enjoyed it. I like book series that flow, and continue on from where you were. In this book you get to see Cat's nightmare, and it's painful, but you'll fall in love with Jace more then ever! I look forward to book 3.

The first book was way better and I think this book was kinda unnecessary.
Not much happened and oh my gosh do I hate Cat's mother.
Plus too much forced drama for me. The only good thing is that there's no 'why didn't you tell me this, let's break up' reaction.
