The story pulled me in from the beginning. I enjoyed the way you wove the characters stories making you want more of them. You also gave a different view and understanding of motorcycle clubs. I hope to read more of Razor and Kylie's story in the next few books. Keep up the great work !

This was my first read by Xyla Turner but not my last! Turner's characters were vivid and popped off the pages but so did the grammatical errors.

This is Kylie and Razor's story. Kylie was a strong and sassy singer who came back home to take care of her ailing mother in private so to speak. Her mother has swore her to secrecy so she indulges her. She grabbed the president of Legion of Guardian MC, Razor's attention swiftly in the story even though everyone in town knows he never deals with younger woman like her. Kylie lets him know even faster that she doesn't date 'bikers.' Razor is the alpha male you love and hate at the same time. He's cocky, possessive, got swag and then some and the look that makes women exhale quickly! Oh, did I tell you he goes after what he wants! And he wants Kyle Mills, daughter of Mayor Mills. By the way, Kylie was fighting Razor every step of the way until her very life was placed in dangered and she was now under the protection of the Legion of Guardians MC! Yep, Razor's MC... lol!

You will love Kylie's bff, Shay and Lori and Razor's MC brothers, Bronx, Apollo, Pete, Tate, etc.
So if you like drama, MC, feisty (talked and cursed like sailor) women protective parents and strong alpha males, well "Just Ride" you will love it!

Made it to page 20 and I just cannot carry on. It was like a 13-year-old me was daydreaming about being super cool and meeting a mean biker that just had to have me cause I'm so good at everything and blah blah fuck off.

Plus the lack of contracts was driving me up the wall. Its just one of those things I can't tolerate and on top of everything else I had to walk away quickly to give my eyes a rest from rolling so much.

3 stars. Middle of the road; not super impressed but it wasn't horrible.

Granted, it's hard to impress me when it comes to MC reads. While I love them, I'm also very picky. There has to be an amazing story, no editing mistakes, kick ass Hero (especially), and somewhat unique in a genre that has a lot of MC stories to choose from. So on to listing what I liked and didn't like...

Liked:
*Older H (40s) & h (30s). I'm getting older (eek!) and I'm starting to appreciate stories where the couple's age isn't closer to my oldest son's age than mine.
*Concept of the Guardians MC. They are protectors; they serve justice. They are trained in combat, search and rescue, etc. They don't run drugs or women. It's different than most books, and I appreciate that.
*The heroine is a strong woman whose family upbringing isn't one where she was abused or neglected.
*The cover: I didn't necessarily like it, but THANK YOU for putting models on the cover that at least look like what the H & h are supposed to look like. It's shocking how many times the cover's models look nothing like they are supposed to. Super annoying.

Disliked:
*Editing issues, especially in the second half of the book.
*The second half also seemed less polished than the first. I was enjoying this book until the halfway point; then it seemed to get a little boring and the editing issues drove me insane because they weren't present in the first half.
*The secondary characters. There was so much drama... I get it was setting it up for the subsequent books but instead of intriguing me, it annoyed me.

Overall an okay read. If you like any MC book, this will do. If you tend to be more picky about them, I would stay away. I most likely will not be reading the author's other books.

“‘Told you, sweethearts. You want clarity, you come to me. I’d be waiting. You came, so let me be clear. You’re with me. Mine. You came to me, so you’re with me.’”

5 deliciously deceiving stars! First book in the series and I’m hooked!

Kylie is back in town, a town she grew up in. And her first day back in town and she has a run win with Razor, the President of Guardian’s MC. It wasn’t the best of meetings either….he wants her and she well, she doesn’t want anything to do with bikers. But when her dark past comes back into town looking for her, she’s forced to run to the one man she swore she would have nothing to do with. Can Razor protect her?

Ugh this book was so good!!! And that ending…..I need more now!!

Overall Rating: 4 Rockin’ ★★★★

Take a spunky singing heroine and an extremely stubborn President of an MC and mix in laughter, with a splash of action, add moments of steamy passion and you'll get Just Ride by Xyla Turner. The first book in the Legion of Guardians MC series introduces us to this fresh twist on motorcycle romance. The MC motto is to protect those who need protection at all cost. The club is made up of men from all walks of life. This is Kylie and Razor's journey to finding love.

Kylie grew up in the little town of Manor, Pennsylvania where her father IS the town's mayor. She returns after ten years on the road with her band when she learns that her mother has cancer and needs someone to take care of her. She meets the notorious womanizer Razor on her first night out on the town with her friends and leaves a lasting impression on the biker.

Razor is in his forties and isn't looking for a relationship, especially someone so much younger than him. His club and son are enough to satisfy his life, but when he sees Kylie he is intrigued by her and tries to get to know her only to be brushed off. No one turns him down. The challenge has been set and he will win!

The chemistry is love/hate in the beginning with Kylie fighting tooth and nail to resist Razor's charms. The back and forth banter between them is entertaining and will keep you engrossed in the story as it progresses. This wasn't your typical MC read, but it is still an entertaining and satisfying storyline that would compliment your library.

I've never read this author before, and I'm not really sure where the book rec came from TBH. all I know is I saw it on amazon, started with a sample and finished with the book.

this book was good, has good bones, but some of the delivery was a hit or miss for me. mostly a hit, only a tiny bit of a miss. first, editing mistakes. those drive me crazy. misspelled words. wrong words used in a sentence (though instead of thought, etc). and it was like once you spot one, they all stand out. the other part that was a bit of a miss for me, sometimes , were the characters themselves. sometimes the way Razor spoke, all alpha, was a little too short and I had to read it twice to get his point. Kylie, I don't know, something about her just was.. off. I couldn't connect with her 100%. the last part was the tidbit we found out about Lori in the end. I feel like the whole book I was feeling for her, until Razor told us what she was really like.

the one thing I would really have liked to see was Kylie handle something. I feel like Razor handled Bonnie. Razor handled the stalker. razor handled everything. and yes she kind of helped when she stepped over the line, but hard core drama, she's so sassy and strong i would have loved to see her handle something like Bonnie. stake her claim like he did over and over.

I really liked the Guardians, who they were, what they stood for, what they did, and how respected they were. I love that he was able to take her misconceptions and completely destroy them by showing her the reality of who they were.

I did like the storyline and the writing style of the author, and when picking up a new author - that's huge. I'll definitely pick up the other books in the series to see where this goes.

This is my first time reading anything by Xyla Turner ,but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this great story. This is the first book in ( The Legion of Guardian MC ) this is a new twist for this author. The MC has a motto and that motto is to protect those that need protections at any cost. The club is make up men of all walks of life. This is Kylie and Razor's story of love .We have one very spunky heroine and one MC president and put some humor and put in some action ,some steamy hot passion and you have one hot story. Kylie grew up in a little town ,where her father is the mayor, she been away for about 10 years traveling and singing with a band. But when she hears her mother has cancer and needs someone to care for her ,she comes home to help. Then there's Razor who she meets while out on the town with friends, but wow did she ever leave an impression on him, but she needs to be on her guard because his quite a womanizer.Razor is around forty and don't want an relationship specialty not with someone that is younger . As he try's to get to know Kylie she brushes him off , he's never turned down by any woman. So will he get what he wants or not ? Xyla Turner has given us a story with characters that are strong, fighters , charming, caring, and very loving. And the chemistry between these characters are hot and steamy ,and the story line is so well written and beautifully told. I could go on and tell you more about this great story but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this touching story ,you won't be disappointed

We start out the book with Kylie on a mechanical bull in a bar. Who is Kylie and what is her story? After she rides the mechanical bull and is hanging with Shay and Lori, Razor comes up to her and hits on her. She rebuffs him and goes off with her friends. Where is he when she is at Wylie's and sings and then takes care of a drunk idiot problem and ends up getting punched in the face by his also pretty drunk friend? Not there, but what happens when he sees her with the black eye at the store, then with a former bandmate? Oh, things get interesting. When he finds out who she is the daughter of, he gets mad at her old man for no good reason. Gotta love an MC Prez that gets riled up like that so quickly. When we find out more about the Legion of Guardians MC, you truly come to find out this is NOT your normal MC book, and definitely not your normal MC. I love a good MC book, but the breath of fresh air that was this MC book would get more than 5 stars from me if I could give it. You're going to have to read it to see what I mean. Especially after some 'troublesome' events happen to Kylie and the Guardians are called in. Who calls them? What happens? Read and find out!

The Legion of Guardians is an MC I would love to be a part of!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Just Ride by Xyla Turner was fantastic! Yes, there were some grammatical errors; however, since it is an ARC and just released I do not count against that. Those issues are just editing and did not take away from the story line at all.

I love a little mystery and action once in a while and this book delivered that along with good sex scenes and romance. Being book 1 of a new series it did what was needed by giving the reader a great story that captures you for a rewarding one sit read and at the same time creates a hunger for the stories of the secondary characters. The main characters story is dramatic and you find yourself emerged into their world and feeling like you are a secondary character yourself watching your friends lives unfold. The MC world Xyla Turner created is original and yet gives the reader the hope that there are more people like those in the Legion of Guardians MC within the real world to help those in need. I am looking forward to the next book in this series which is to be about Shay and Bronx; however, I CAN'T WAIT for book three about Lori and Apollo!!

Just Ride is a MC Series about the Legion of Guardian's. Their different then your normal motorcycle club. The Legion of Guardian's were protectors, fighters, and avengers, and it would not always be in accordance with the law but they would get the job done.

Kylie Mills a 32 year old, blond -haired vixen with hazel eyes, who is the lead singer of band The Grey. She finds herself needing the help of The Legion of Guardian's.

Razor Willis is 44 the president of The Legion of Guardian's with piercing grey eyes and salt and pepper goatee who is hired by Kylie's father to protect her and find out who is stalking her.

Kylie let's Razor protect her from stalker but will she open her heart to him.

Next in this series, we get to read Shay and Bronx's story and then if you can hold on we finally get to read Lori and Apollo' story.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for a honest review. Review by Melissa K for HEA Fanatics.

This is s tough review to write, but I hope it is helpful.. I really enjoyed Razor and Kylie's story, its great to see a strong heroine that doesn't take a lot of crap. New twists on the usual MC book. I am really looking forward to Shay and Bronx's story, as well as Lori and Apollo.
As much as I liked this book and would have given it a 4-5 star rating, the editing was a mess. Kyla, if you paid an editor for this, you should get a double refund plus!! I am an ARC reader/reviewer for quite a few authors, and have never seen a worse editing job. There was even editors notes at the end of chapters. I realize 99 cents is not a ton of money to spend on a book and I could have waited for Kindle Unlimited, but it looked like an interesting read. I will not pay for another book, but would consider using Kindle Unlimited to read the next.

The Legion of Guardians MC is an MC like no other. This book drew me in and I enjoyed it.

Kylie is a singer, young and also the mayors daughter.. oh did i mention she is young? at least in the eyes of Razor and his age she is. Razor tries to keep himself away from Kylie but there is this pull between them and its easier said than done.

Can they get past the age difference? Will Razor realize that Kylie is his one and that she needs him just as much as he needs her?

I say get this book and read it since it is like no other MC book i have ever read. I received an advanced copy and dont normally put this in reviews but I'm just going to say that I do hope that it has gone back through another round of edits since the Advanced Copies were sent out. But besides the grammar errors this book is EPIC and NOT what you would expect.

Xyla Turner is one of new favorite authors!

Just ride was an awesome story! I think it was well written and had a well developed plot. This story was a little more steamy than another story I read from her but I loved it. I loved Razor and Kylie! I thought they were so cute and I had a few laughs along the way. I am so interested in finding out more about Shay and Bronx. I am eagerly waiting for the next installment of the Legion of Guardians. Oh and Apollo is on my bad list. How he did Lori was wrong. I won't post any spoilers though. 5 stars all the way!

Wonderful read

Kylie came home to help her mom because her mom is sick, little does she know she has to ask for the help from the one person she doesn't want anything to do with. She thinks she knows all about bikers and what they stand for.

Razor is drawn to Kylie, but has all kinds of reasons to stay away from her. She's too young, he has to the Legion of guardians, and he has a kid. But when the club is called to help protect Kylie from a stalker... All bets are off.

I love this book, I can't wait for the next want to come out, as it's not your typical MC book.

Loved it....Great Read!!!!

From the moment Razor saw Kylie at the bar he knew he wanted her. Kylie on the other hand didn't want anything to do with Razor even though she was attracted to him. Razor already had in his she was his and she just had to come around to that. I loved this book!!! I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end. I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!!

i really enjoyed these books .. the format was pretty much the same in each one but they all had a separate story to tell. editing fell down a little in a few places but overall it wasn't too bad. sweet little romances with the bad boy/older man and the sassy/hold her own younger woman dynamic. hope there are more to come. def looking forward to Vita & Swag

Great new mc series

I liked this book, it had a strong heroine and a hot man. The plot was a nice change of pace, even if it involved protection from the hero's mc club. The bikers were different from most co u b s, I enjoyed that aspect. The supporting characters were great, I look forward to reading Lori and Apollo story, and shay and Bronx's book next. Good quick read.

Cute Instalovalicious MC Romance.

I’m a fan of Motorcycle Romance so I was already intrigued. I know the author is a black romance writer so I was initially surprised that she was writing about white characters but talent is talent and writing is writing and it is not as though this is telling a story a nation, it’s a hot and spicy (if somewhat generic) romance novel, it’s okay. I enjoyed reading it but it wasn’t anything surprising.

The premise is that Kylie has returned to her hometown from a career as a touring musician, to look after her sick mother. On a night out, she meets the president of the local vigilante-sequence Motorcycle Club, Razor, and sparks fly and it’s lust at first sight after a token protestation of their age difference (she’s in her 30s, he’s in his 40s, nothing creepy or untoward).

I think overall this was a cute romance with an overprotective hero and a heroine who speaks her mind. It was an enjoyable read if a little instalovalicious. However what the hero loves about the heroine IS addressed so it’s not like there isn’t a “why” to the relationship. I was a little concerned about the future of the relationship because I feel like they fought really childishly and hurtfully and it always felt like the heroine was 5 seconds away from storming out and leaving the relationship. It was a breakup a minute (somewhat exaggerating but there were quite a few) and I wish they had addressed it. But it was interesting.

I feel like this book does the thing common with MC romances sometimes where because of what I assume is the MC culture, consent and knowing what’s best and reading someone else’s attraction and letting that guide your behaviour is celebrated and I find several mixed messages in these books where a character asks to “be left alone” but then they’re kissed and they want to be kissed and so it’s not like there is no consent, there is implicit consent but it just to me sends mixed messages. I don’t have a problem with it in the context of a romance novel but someone who has had issues with consent in the past might. Also content warnings for assault and stalking. If you’re looking for A LOT of heat, this book is ghost pepper level spicy. I liked this author’s writing enough that I would read more from her.

Not one of my favorites

Xyla is usually one of my go to authors but I just could not get into this couple. Kylie seemed very superficial to me and acted like a spoiled brat. Granted, she dropped everything she was doing to come home to take care of her sick mother. She had a great relationship with her father and loved her girlfriends and had their backs.

As far as Xander "Razor" Willis was concerned, he fell head over heels for a woman twelve years his junior. There was a reason why he only dated seasoned women and Kylie showed him why with her meddling. To him, she was his home and to her he was her home. As long as they had each other, they could ride either his bike or each other.

Just Ride Me

The story featured an still young older couple was kind of nice. Razor was 43 and Kylie was 32.. His hangups with her age fueled his desires to stay away from Kylie, even though his heart kept pulling him towards her. Her line about not f-ing bikers was too funny. After much push and pull and a few tense moments the two were bound together in love and lust. The constant booty sex was a bit much, and the a$$ slapping was over dramatized. But overall it was a good read.

A good book. Kylie and Razer is not my favorite couple. Kylie was not someone whose character I could into. I'm not sure why, but she was fairly superficial to me. Really liked Razer and his Brother Bikers Apollo and Bronx.
I think part of my problems be that I've gotten into the interracial couples and Kylie and Razer were not.
But it's a decent story.

This was lots of fun. Razor and Kylie made for a fun pair. He’s got that Alpha role down to a T, and it ramps up when he meets his match 🙂.

The story is fluid with a steady flow that snare you and keeps you entertained till the very last syllable. The supporting cast was set up to have you impatiently waiting for their stories, it was very well done.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
