Important note: This book covers an outdated version of the exam! CompTIA A+ Complete Study Guide: Exam Core 1 220-1001 and Exam Core 2 220-1002 is the current version!

The A+ is a beginning networking certificate and this book does a very good job giving you an introduction of the beginning steps to networking. It explains the basic steps well and walks you through basic troubleshooting.I used this book to prepare for my Comptia A+ exam a couple years ago and I believe it did a very good job in preparing me for the exam.

However, the exam has since been updated, and this book should not be bought as they change the topics on the A+ exam at every modification. However, if you are only looking at this book as a good basic guide to the fundamentals of networking -- this will guide you through the fun of hubs, routers, switches, and other equipment, through the complicated path of learning to subnet, and into the fine meadow-lands of learning different networking protocols.

In general I did not have trouble with this exam, but that may well be because I studied well off this book. I do not feel like one needs many other resources in order to pass the A+.

Helped me to pass both of my exams. The practice quizzes and diagrams included in the guide were especially helpful.
