New Orleans has been alive with paranormal activity for the last few months. Creatures of the night are coming in and out of the ancient city, searching the world for relics in a mad attempt to close a tear in the veil between worlds they were told only they could repair.
However, they were misled.
On the other side of that veil, dwelling amongst the damned souls of Hell, are the Noir, a brutal race that feeds off the sins of the world, ripping apart those damned for eternity in their need for life and survival.
Ruled by the master of Hell, their task has been laid out for them, and they have other plans for the sacred relics.
Rebecca Ethington has been telling stories since she was small. First, with writing crude scripts, and then on stage with years of theatrical performances. The Imdalind Series is her first stint into the world of literary writing. Rebecca is a mother to two, and wife to her best friend of 14 years. She was born and raised in the mountains of Salt Lake City, and hasn’t found the desire to leave yet. Her days are spent writing, running, and enjoying life with her amazing family.
Well, this was the last one and it was the worst of the bunch. Everything was just confusing. The all powerful Noir, who has been pulling everyone's strings and sending all the other supernatural races on their quests, turns out to be one of many of a whole race of Noir. And she and her "partner" are constantly "shivering in fear", "frozen in fright", and "bowing to my Master", who is apparently the devil. So the devil sends Delia to get some sword, she can't find it, has to cross the veil, but without the sword needs the seal, and the seal has been busted up and all the pieces given to each of the races. So to get the pieces back she sends a message for each race to bring their relic to the same spot or it's the end of the world. So they all do, but the whole thing is a fucking ruse! Then it all ends on a fucking cliffhanger with them looking for that sword. I'm annoyed with the whole fucking thing, I'm glad it's over.
The Noir is the final book in the Awesome Supernatural Chronicles mysteries & dark secrets will come to light! The Noir who dwell on the other side of the veil, among the damned souls and feed off their sins. The supernatural creatures have been battling to return relics to the point of the tear in the veil, believing they are saving mankind and keeping the damned on their side of the veil. They were misled!
The final book in the Supernatural Chronicles finally links all the previous novellas together and explains their mysterious purposes behind repairing the Veil, which had seemed to protect the supernatural from the regular worlds, but in this book turns out to be so much more important and perhaps dangerous. Told from the unique point of view of Delia, one of a few Noir, or hound-shifters who guards the levels of Hell for their master the Devil. This quick read is a lot darker than any of the previous with more fear and anger--and no side love story, at least within it's pages, though with the secondary male character Adrian may lead somewhere... This one was an interesting take on all myths regarding Hell and a simultanously mysterious and revealing conclusion to the previous chronicles. I enjoyed being a part of the Dynamis Hunt and hope these authors continue with more collaborative tales!

The conclusion to the Supernatural Chronicles. We read about the Noir, who dwell on the other side of the veil, among the damned souls in Hell and feed off their sins. The supernatural creatures have been battling to return relics to the point of the tear in the veil, believing they are saving mankind and keeping the damned on their side of the veil. They were purposefully misled by the Noir. Delia and Adrian have an entirely different task given to them.
Oh, my! So much fun reading this entire chronicles from a different perspective. Talk about behind the scenes! I would love to continue and find out where and how they complete their mission.
An amazingly exciting finale to the Supernatural Chronicles series. This well written novella tells us the story from the opposite side of the Vale to the rest of the books, as well as giving us a fascinating view of the Hell realm. Manipulation, intrigue and the background to the hunt is all revealed, with a twist in the tale that is not expected. Read the other novellas in the series first, in order to get the full impact of the revelation in this story. I hope the author writes a continuation of this captivating story. I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the last installment of the Supernatural Chronicles, 10 novellas each written by a different author. This was an ambitious project! The Noir does not disappoint, delivering an awesome ending to an intriguing paranormal series. It would be beneficial to read all the previous stories, since there are characters from different stories in this one and you would appreciate more their presence in this story.
In this final installment of The Supernatural Chronicles, all the previous stories come together in a culmination that totally surprised the reader. The story is dark and pretty scary but does give hope as well. This is a necessary read to all the other Chronicle stories if for no other reason than to find out if each group of people are successful in their quest. Plus, a surprise at the end as well!
The tenth and last book in the Supernatural Chronicles. Delia is the new Noir after Sauda made a huge mistake. The Devil tasked her with going through the veil to find something of his. She is the one who made every supernatural heir bring their relics. Evil lies. This one was really good. I love how Hell and the Devil is presented! Everything really clicked and my feelings throughout each relic being placed was comfirmed!
Finally at the conclusion I feel like it was only the beginning. I enjoyed how we get a glimpse of what really was going on behind the scenes but I want more. The story still feels incomplete to me. The Noir themselves are pretty fascinating and I liked their creation. Maybe they'll be another book or something more to complete the journey.
Highly recommend, fantastic stories! I was a little hesitant to read this series because I had only read Jaime Magee (The Witches) and im not a fan of short stories. Fast paced adventures & a fun ride! I'm impressed by how this series turned out & and am looking forward to its continuation. I am also going to scope out the authors other works :-)
Read as part of the box set. FOR REALS!?!?!?! UGH! I know this isn't much of a review, but if you'd read the rest of the stories, then you KNOW why I am feeling this way. This story opens up the potential for so many more adventures set in these universes dealing with the Dynamis. So...yeah...no spoilers here. Just sayin'...FORFREAKINREALS?!?!?!
I love Rebecca Ethington’s writing and this book didn't disappoint me. It was full of action and suspense that had me paging turning to the end. I can't wait until the next journey begins.
I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review.
While not at all what I was expecting, this is an excellently written tale of Rebecca Ethington's view of hell and the demons and denizens that rule. I can't wait to find out what happens next!!!
I enjoyed the final episode in this novella series! The Noir are not what I expected but I was enthralled with this story just the same. I really hope there is more to come in this world - I couldn't get enough.
What!? This one had me straight out of the gates! The writing and concept had me. But the ending! UGH! When will there be more? Will all the stories be expanded on or will it be all new?!
