Teenagers often have busy schedules, dramatic relationships, techy gadgets, and bursting closets. Some of these may be good, but when taken to excess, they can also get in the way of our relationship with God. We might spend so much time texting that we forget to pray, or we might add so many activities to our schedules that we don’t have time to read the Bible. But God has a better plan; He calls us to simplify our lives and cut back the clutter so we can have the most beautiful future imaginable.
That Was Random looks at 365 different objects, from keychains and paper snowflakes to toy wagons and wedding veils, and shows how everyday objects can remind us to keep our focus on Jesus.
“Therefor, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV).
I loved this book. It was so fascinating how each item tied into a lesson that teaches us about God. I think that the author did an amazing job on writing her book. It was really interesting and taught me a lot about Jesus in ways I never would have expected. This book was realistic on many levels. For instance, it used everyday items and it should us how much God loves us and wants to save us form Satins rath, which is very real. I rate this book 5/5 for its excellent word choices, its fun stories, and the fact that it draws people closer to God.
I personally really enjoy and appreciate this book. It is based for teens and I can see why. The stories are humorous but always have a spiritual connection. They don’t take long to read so it’s really easy to fit into your schedule. I liked how Mrs. Gold found object lessons through random objects we use everyday. It’s great for developing a relationship with God and I would recommend this book to anyone of my friends.
This is a amazing devotional!! My reading teacher wrote this and it is one of the best devotional i have read. I love the way she takes objects and ties them into her life stories. All of the devotional days in this book are real and everything is true. It is a light hearted, funny, interesting book. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. Happy readings!!
This book is definitely good because relates to reality in sooooo many likely to happen ways! That and everything is thing that author herself had experienced in her life. Much better and definitely more enjoyable than a regular devotional. Grab a copy on amazon if you want to check it out.
I was reading through some of the devotionals and I liked the personal stories, the fun stories and the spiritual connection. Some of the devotionals are very relatable to me and I crack a laugh when reading some. I would recommend this to a friend as a fun way to help grow their personal relationship with God and to make them relate to some of the stories.
A very inspirational devotional to read with family. Funny entertaining book with a spiritual overtone that keeps you coming back. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a quick inspirational devotional!
