Sassy: A Love Story

This is a tale of a young woman who lost herself in a man, and had to fight hard to find herself again...

"A man who is good in bed will make love to you softly and sweetly all night long. A man who is great in bed will twist you into a pretzel and pound all the stress out of you. A man who is dangerous in bed will do both. That's the difference, Brenda. That's what's so addictive," Sassy said while puffing the blunt. She held the smoke in and looked away from her friend before exhaling slowly. "He sees me," she pointed to her heart. "He makes love to me physically, mentally, and emotionally. Do they have a rehab for that? I need a twelve step program to walk away from that."
Brenda snatched the blunt from Sassy and shook her head. "I'm sure his wife could recommend a few treatment facilities for that ass."

DRMRAB Columbus Chapter review:

We thoroughly enjoyed this read. For our discussion we read parts 1 and 2 of this series and the twists and turns of this storyline are enough to have you on the edge of your seat almost afraid to turn the page. We agreed on 4 stars for both books as the storyline flowed well and the character development was very well done by this author. For some of us this was our first read from this author and we all agreed this will definitely not be our last. Hold on for the ride as Sassy has a part of her story that EVERY woman can relate to at some point in their lives. And remember some lessons are only learned the hard way.

Have you ever found yourself only to lose yourself all over again? Have you ever been so addicted to a man?

Sassy is looking for a new start with her new job. She is ready to take over the world and make her relationship work with Mike. She stumbles onto Vince and that is when the trouble starts.

Now that we have established Sassy and her life, we fast forward and find Sassy in an addicted state. Her mother, Wanda, has come to rescue her daughter. What she finds is not her daughter but a shell spent on alcohol and tears. She does what any mother would and brings her daughter into reality and finds out how she got into her funkdafied state.

Sassy starts her story. She realizes she is being taken advantage of by her current boyfriend Mike, who has been using her. She finally gets the courage to park him on the curb with the garbage. She is hurt but life goes on. She has her new job and a different outlook on life. She's making friends and then here comes Vince. Vince becomes a drug for Sassy and when it hits her this is why we find her in an addicted state to Vince.

Will Sassy get the courage to leave Vince? Will her addiction overtake her? Stay tuned is what we are going to have to do.

Four-star read for the work. It kept my attention and made me remember a time I was addicted. Thumbs up to JPS for giving me a memory back in story form.

Omg!!!

Thus short story was so awesome. I love how Sassy was the reserved skirt kind of girl. I love how Brenda steps in and seize the moment to be good friends with her. I want to say Vince is a good guy but you know how that goes. I'm glad she sent Mike packing with his deadbeat ass. I can't wait for part 2. Overall this was a great short story well thought out put together great character development.

Ok Read

I had to read this book for a discussion that my book club will be having, 1st it's only 50 pages so it very short and quick. The story starts with Sassy staring a new job and in a unhappy relationship, next thing you know she's sleeping with someone else. Sassy seems weak in the men department, I like the Brenda character need to know about her and Vince seems like a lot of trouble. Interesting in knowing how the next part will go especially with that ending.

So Sassy

It's been a while since I read a book by Me Simmons. Sassy is a fast paced love story that reminded me of why I enjoyed her books to begin with. This is the perfect tale of a catch-22 situation. I can't wait to see what other drama Julia Press Simmons is going to bring back to her readers.

OMG!!!! Moment

Good loving can sometimes lead to being burned by the fire. The main character Sassy seems to have gotten herself I to a bit of a pickle. I can't wait to see how she gets out of this. Thank you Julia Press Simmons for leaving me with my mouth hanging open.

Wow...

I can't imagine what is going through Sassy's head right about now. I wasn't shocked at how the book ended.
