This book is very informational. It includes facts about many things that you would not typically know the answer to. I would definitely read this book to students when discussing fire safety. I think that the text would also come in handy when schools implement fire drills, so that students have prior knowledge to what is happening during the drill, and how this keeps students safe.

I learned that the word curfew comes from the French for "cover the fire" and was an order put in place to keep people from having lit fires at night.

I learned that Benjamin Franklin helped form the first fire department in Philadelphia.
