Great Pace

Tara Oakes does it again. I am enjoying this series. This is book two in the Badge Boys series but can be read as a stand-alone.

This book is about Agent Beau Prewitt, a reformed hacker. He still uses his special skills only now he uses them to aid the US Government to chase and capture other hackers who are committing cyber crimes. One such criminal is Raven. A daughter to former FSB agents, she is a slick cyber criminal. Detached from society and always on the run. This time is no different. This time she needs help. She needs Beau's help and what better way to ensure his help than to tarnish his squeaky clean reputation by framing him for cyber crimes he didn't commit.

First, I have to say that these type of people scare me. They intrigue me and scare me. They lurk in the shadows of cyber space doing their thing without anyone the wiser until it's too late. This book intrigued me when I found out this is what the characters did. Tara does a great job of taking us into this world.

This story has a nice steady pace. The push and pull between Beau and Raven kept me reading. I was trying to figure out what their forte was in the cyber world and when they were going to realize their feelings for each other. Given their current situation, it didn't give them a lot of time to be intimate but when they did, it was beyond hot.

I liked the story, the pace and the characters. I thought the transition between the events in the book could have gone smoother. One minute they are trying to get into the cargo area of a plane the next, poof, they are there. This only happened a few times and it definitely didn't take away from the pace or the story. I highly recommend giving this book a read. It's well worth it.

Hackers and spies - oh my!
While this a book two in the Badge Boy Series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

FBI computer hacker, Beau is finally close to the elusive Raven. He has been tracker her for months and she is finally reached out to him. Raven is on the run and she needs help. The only person who seems worthy to help is the man she has also been keeping tabs on. Raven has been on the run for so long she doesn't know how to do anything else. She is constantly looking over her shoulder but it doesn't help that it because she has some pretty sensitive information. In the wrong hands what has will bury a nation and there are those will literally kill for what she knows. While somewhat forced, Beau is going to help her but in the process he has turned into a wanted man.

This book has a lot of action and intrigue. There is a lot of things going on that there is very little down time. No one knows who they can trust and when lives are the line the ante keeps upping itself. Raven and Beau are also fighting their attraction for each other. Both in careers that never lead to a happy ever after, both with closets full of secrets and both know how to bury the other with a few finger clicks. This book was wildly entertaining and had a lot going on. A whole lot of action packed into a small package with a few moments of comic relief and then hot chemistry. That is one thing I have come to enjoy about Tara, there is no messing around. We get right to the point and to it quickly.

I have not read book any books by this author and was quite impressed with her writing style, plot and her characters. The story is full of secrets, betrayal, misunderstandings, lies, laughs, heartbreak and pain filled with thrills and action for one heck of a wonderful read.

Beau works for the FBI he is one of the best hackers in the business. He is on the hunt for a rogue hacker that goes by the name of Raven. There is a bounty on her head Beau must hunt her down before other find her and claim the prize.

Raven parents are former KGB spies they have taught her all they knows but she wishes they would have taught her how not to get caught. She is on the run and has been running for what feels like forever. With Raven and Beau being enemies they do battle with each other something happens to make them come together and fight for one common goal. Raven hopes she has put her faith into the right person only time will tell.

These two might be enemies but they work well together. Watch the attraction builds as sparks fly you are left laughing as these two find they work well together in and out of the bedroom.

There is no doubt you are in for a thrilling action pack fun read that is full of danger that will keep you on the edge of your seats as these two burn up the computers and their bodies. I enjoyed this book so much I bought book one and can’t wait to read it. If you are looking for a thrilling well written book with wonderful characters that will have you turning the pages you have found it.

5 Stars!

I loved this book. Sexy, sweet, and suspenseful, this book was quite the read that I completely devoured in one afternoon. I have read a few books here and there but this is definitely my favorite. Dark Web is a standalone with a perfect happy ending.

This author captivated me. She hooked me from the very first page and I found myself trying to flip the pages long after this book was over. This book was intense and passionate at times that I could feel the chemistry just pouring off of the pages.

This is Raven and Beau’s story. Raven and Beau have a complicated road ahead of them. She is on the run, always looking over her shoulder. Beau is trying to track her down before the serious bad dudes get her. Then they meet and it all goes haywire...

Passion. Fire. Chemistry. Lust. These two are in for the fight of their lives... and their heart may be the newest victim. Tracking her down was just the start... with mystery and suspense swirling around, can they really have it all including love?

I highly recommend this book.

Dark Web is book two in the Badge Boy Series and a stand alone book. You don't have to read the first book Pretty Boy but you'd be missing out on a great book if you didn't read it in the future.

Beau Prewitt is a FBI Agent that is stuck working behind the scenes for the Bureau way too long. He is one of the best computer hackers that the FBI has and he is looking into a rogue hacker by the name of Raven. Will he be able to find her and bring her in before others claimed the bounty on her head?

Raven is her hacker name but once upon a time ago she was known as Marina. She has been trained by the best, her parents, former KGB spies.

Now, she is working with a FBI hacker, one working for the law and the other one opposed to it. In spite of everything, these two hackers unexpectedly work well together in bed and out.

Dark Web is probably named with all the lies, suspense, betrayal and secrets. Who are allies and who are the enemies trying to figure it out and keeps you turning the pages. Another great book from Tara Oakes.

This is the second book in the series however it can be read as a stand-alone. Beau is an FBI agent in the cyber division. He has been tracking a woman known as Raven for months. She has agreed to a meeting with him now that someone else is dangerously close to catching her. Raven has been on the run for a while but now she needs help and that help is going to come from Beau. Will Beau give her the help she needs? There is more to what has had Raven on the run. Raven and Beau have gotten to know each other through their little cat and mouse games on the internet, but how will they respond to seeing each other in person? Neither of them is prepared for how the other makes them feel. This book has action, romance, suspense, and more. This book has some twists and turns. The chemistry between Beau and Raven is fantastic. They work will together and complement each other both personally and with their hacking skills. This was another great book by Tara Oakes. Tara is one of my favorite authors and I always look forward to reading a new book by her. I highly recommend any book by Tara.

This is the second book in the Badge Boys series. The do not have to be read in order.

This is Beau’s story.

Beau is a hacker with the FBI. It was either join them, or sit in prison for a very long time for cyber-crimes he started committing when he was thirteen.

Now he’s been tracking another hacker, Raven, but her real name is Marina.

Marina, or Raven, needs help. Her parents have been taken and there is a major hit out on her. She has a lot of secrets that she hacked from different countries.

She tells Beau she’s ready to turn herself in. But she’s not. She just wants/needs his help and that’s how she can get him to her.

This is a situation that may kill them both.

I really liked this book, but did find the end a little predictable.

I was looking forward to reading Dark Web, the second book in the Badge Boys series, for two reasons. One, I enjoyed the first book in this series and two, I’m a fan of CSI: Cyber.
Although I did enjoy this book and the ending was very exciting and satisfying, it did take me a while to get into it. it also took me a while to work out why – I couldn’t connect with the characters. I’m not saying this because there was no way I could be in their shoes, but I didn’t really connect with the people. I didn’t feel I knew enough about them and their feelings.
That said, I would still recommend Dark Web to anyone who likes a book that makes you think and a book that has you wondering how everything is going to turn out.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, lies, secrets, misunderstandings, pain, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first:
Pretty Boy (Badge Boys #1)

This is Raven and Beau’s story. Beau is trying to track down a hacker named Raven and get to her before the bad guys catch her. Raven has been running for what feels like forever. Can she trust Beau? Action packed. These two must come together to help each other. They work great together but with all the danger should they stay together? This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

I have read books by Tara Oakes before and I love her writing. As soon as her books come out, I typically buy them. Dark Web is no exception to this for me.
Raven is on the run. She doesn't trust anyone, she's been betrayed, and her life is spent looking over her shoulder.
Beau is a hacker that works for the FBI. He is trying to bring her in to protect her.
Can they work together to find out what's going on? Can either one of them trust the other?
If you haven't read this book, then you need to. I typically don't read this type of book and I feel in love with it, and the characters almost from the beginning of the book. I highly recommend this book. Tara Oakes is an amazing author!!

We met Beau in book #1, he’s the computer dude who helps Chris. Mildly predictable but the secret agent/spy part spices the story up as well as the couple of twists along the way. It scares me to think that the things done in the book by hackers can really happen, ignorance is bliss and I don’t wanna know!

This might just be the first, truly standalone book I have read. I am NOT a fan of that word. I feel it is an oxymoron, but this book only refers back to book #1 once (I think) and it doesn’t give away any secrets from book one nor do you have to have read book one to understand the reference, so for that alone I will give Ms. Oakes HUGE kudos!!! I’m a big fan of Tara Oakes and am looking forward to more books in this series. I give this book 4 stars.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed Dark Web by Tara Oakes. I really love Beau and Raven. Their characters are very interesting and what a team the two of them make. There is lots of action in this book. A couple suspenseful moments in the book. The storyline is wonderful and well written. A page turner for sure. This is a standalone book even though book two in the series. I want to go and read book 1 now cause after reading Dark Web I can only imagine how good the first in this series is.

What do you get when you have two hackers on the run? Car chases, shooting, hotness, and more! Beau is a former hacker turned FBI agent, who now tracks down hackers. Raven is the smartest and sexiest hacker that Beau has ever seen, and by God, he wants her.

The two of them have a searing sexual chemistry to be rivaled, but they both realize they have to focus in order to make it out of this situation alive. They have been shot at and chased and things get scary. Overall it was a very enjoyable read.

This is a great short suspenseful read! We get to see two people who are very alike despite being enemies. Two great hackers who are doing battle with each other until they need to unite to accomplish a common goal. The interactions between Beau and Marina will have you chuckling, getting new panties and possibly crying. In the end it's all worth it though, the HEA is very sweet.

I am really enjoying this series by Tara Oakes. I read book 1 on its release, because having read her work before I knew it would be a good read but seriously, she is hitting it out of the park now.
Everything you would expect is there. It's straight to the point, gritty, explosive and dangerous with that side order of sex and comedy.
Page turningly enjoyable. Definitely a series to keep your eye on!

This is book 2 in the Badge Boys series, however, it can certainly be read as a standalone. Tara Oakes has done it again giving us another high octane, intense fast paced read. Dark Web is the story of 2 hackers one working for law enforcement, the other against. Even though they're enemies, they end up working well together, in more ways than one. The realizations of secrets, lies and betrayals, who's an ally and who's an enemy makes this story highly entertaining.

Beau an ex hacker turned FBI agent is drugged and framed by Raven in order to secure his help. Beau being an alpha male is having non of that and soon turns the tables.
Raven is a hacker former KGB. She has been on the run all her adult life but now she needs helpnto save her parents. An old foe comes back from her past. But can Raven learn to trust again?

Nice crime/spy story with romance thrown in. The story focused more on the spy side than the romance which i thoroughly enjoyed.
