Great Pace
Tara Oakes does it again. I am enjoying this series. This is book two in the Badge Boys series but can be read as a stand-alone.
This book is about Agent Beau Prewitt, a reformed hacker. He still uses his special skills only now he uses them to aid the US Government to chase and capture other hackers who are committing cyber crimes. One such criminal is Raven. A daughter to former FSB agents, she is a slick cyber criminal. Detached from society and always on the run. This time is no different. This time she needs help. She needs Beau's help and what better way to ensure his help than to tarnish his squeaky clean reputation by framing him for cyber crimes he didn't commit.
First, I have to say that these type of people scare me. They intrigue me and scare me. They lurk in the shadows of cyber space doing their thing without anyone the wiser until it's too late. This book intrigued me when I found out this is what the characters did. Tara does a great job of taking us into this world.
This story has a nice steady pace. The push and pull between Beau and Raven kept me reading. I was trying to figure out what their forte was in the cyber world and when they were going to realize their feelings for each other. Given their current situation, it didn't give them a lot of time to be intimate but when they did, it was beyond hot.
I liked the story, the pace and the characters. I thought the transition between the events in the book could have gone smoother. One minute they are trying to get into the cargo area of a plane the next, poof, they are there. This only happened a few times and it definitely didn't take away from the pace or the story. I highly recommend giving this book a read. It's well worth it.
