This has by far been my favorite volume because finally, Yuzu stands up and says that no one has the right to make her into something she's not - and Mei is almost confident enough to agree that she likes Yuzu for who she is. Yuzu's speech to the school was one of the best scenes of the series thus far, followed up nicely by Mei's statement that she's going to make some changes at the school, and it shows both girls growing to the point where they can form a more stable emotional relationship. It was a great read for Valentine's Day.

ok plot point! I love yuzu frrr. i love how she prioritizes being herself over everything else. i think that it does make her a good role model and i think its endearing that the younger kids made a little yuzu fan club. i know i said before i wanted to know more about harumi and this really gave some insight into her personal life. it was a little confusing though because her being like a pushover to her sister wasnt how i viewed her character being. Mei gets a little softer every book which is awesome. and i loved the like bonus chapter with yuzu, mei, and mitsuri, when yuzu thinks they're talking about having a threesome it made me laugh. also that she reads stepsister yuri when this is a book about stepsister yuri, so inception.

So, this remains a really good series, despite the fact it is really a guilty pleasure read!
Mei and Yuzu are now dating... I guess??? That really does not come up much this volume, as it focuses more on what Yuzu's rule breaking brings down on her head... and Meis.
I liked Nene a lot. She is the sweet innocent in this, and I like how Mei and Yuzu support each other. Art remains great!

I am definitely a sap for relationship building once people have an established relationship. I like to see characters work on their problems while they are actively trying to be together. This is not that. Last volume ended with Yuzu and Mei "starting to date" but there wasn't anything that really changed. I get that just by saying you are dating, it doesn't magically fix problems in relationships or in yourself, but I feel like it took 4 volumes for these girls to accept that they wanted to try and date and that still doesn't make them any different. They built up the decision of getting into a relationship so much the first 4 volumes that I would assume by agreeing to date something must have given way in their stubbornness. That did not happen, they are both super stubborn and uncommunicative with each other. Especially Mei, which I get, but obviously something changed to get to this point of letting Yuzu in as far as she has, then still treats her like someone to mange and push around. It just kind of confused me. I guess this is just much more slow burn then I thought it would be. And a bit of the abusiveness is back which kind of pisses me off since I thought we had moved past that. Half way through and we are holding at a steady "it's fine". The art is honestly keeping me alive right now, maybe some of the angst and crumbs that we get but that's on thin ice.

Well I'll give this volume credit, it tried something a bit new.

This time we have Yuzu in a more political issue, where if she doesn't state what she is or who she is Mei might get suspended or expelled. Atleast a new angle instead of Yuzu running around being a silly goose in love. This time she depends on Mei for some emotional support, and maybe this time Mei decides to help! It's a what if, maybe, who knows volume.

Good: I still think the kissing scenes are the highlight of the series. Can blame me? It's two hot girls kissing. But the thing is the artist like goes into extra detail when that happens. I also still think it remains pretty funny which is a surprise.

Bad: The story isn't all that interesting this time around despite trying something a bit new. I also thought the progression of their "relationship" felt stilted when last volume I thought we were going forward quicker.

Overall, another good volume. I mean, this series is about two step sisters falling in love, so it's trashy and silly, but overall not bad. A 3 out of 5 like most of the series.

Watched the anime and really enjoyed it. Bought and read the first volume and noticed that there wasn’t much more details in the magna if anything the anime elevated the material in every way. I read that the anime covered 1-4 so I decided to jump in at this volume. Sure enough it picks up right where the anime left off! I really enjoy the pace of this material and find these two characters (and the supporting) very interesting. There are still questions I have about Yuzu and Mei that still remain unanswered. Also, a NEW character arrives that made an already intriguing supporting character more interesting and gives her more depth.

I still don’t like the covers for this series. Yes, they’re stepsisters who have happened to fall for each other but the covers depicted make it seem this is just going to be girl on girl action when anything does happen between them it’s fairly tame and believable for their age.

Onto volume 6...

The last chapter made me go with three stars instead of two or maybe two and a half. I really wanted to see Yuzu’s and Mei’s relationship evolve a little bit more after what happened in the last volume, but I got a whole arc about Aihara’s bigger sister being mad about the current student council ??? I was a little bit disappointed, since I couldn’t see really the point of the arc more than not showing Mei and Yuzu evolve with their feelings.

As I said before, what made me go with three stars was the last chapter. I’m really glad, because we saw a new side of Aihara, a character I’ve always felt that deserves more development, a new side of Yuzu loving herself thanks to Mei, Aihara and that junior student, her whole speech about her convictions, love and friendship, wich I thought it was the cutest thing in the world; and we also see a new side of Mei, fighting for what she believes and talking more to Yuzu, skipping rules just to kiss her after school in their grandpa’s office, making Mei’s character feel a lot less flat. I liked it a lot, and I felt it deserved three stars since we see so much character development everywhere.

I started with this volume because I'd heard from the anime community that the anime TV show only adapted vols.1-4 of the manga and the story continues here.

Yuzu stands up for herself. While she initially decides to wear a wig to placate her mother and the school, when a freshman girl, a self-professed "biggest fan" of Yuzu, gets in trouble for wearing her hair like Yuzu....Yuzu steps up to defend her and discards her wig. We also get to see a few panels earlier how in private Mei admits she loves Yuzu's blonde hair just like it is...that black hair doesn't suit her.

Yuzu proclaims that because the person she likes likes her hair just as it is, she refuses to change it. Yuzu gets confronted by an authority figure who taunts her and says if she thinks she knows better how to run the school then there needs to be a "snap" election and Yuzu will stand as a candidate for Student Body President AGAINST Mei, the sitting President. Mei agrees to these terms. Yuzu is dazed and doesn't know what to do....the drama continues!

While Mitsuko’s actions were awful and the twist at the end kind of came out of nowhere, this was a good volume. I’m not gonna lie, I teared up a bit at the end of Yuzu’s speech. I also appreciate how Mei pushed Yuzu to run even though the consequences could be devastating for Yuzu and Nene. Good volume, good lesson, friendship feels, and for once no new love interest! Thank you, Saburouta, for that lovely reprieve!

Meh, bastante simple y bonito.

I really really don't get it why they are making such a dam big deal about here hair colour! Isn't being blond a natural colour? Yess she paints here hair to blond but what iff you have this colour natural 🤔is just so dam confusing an probably doesn't even matter any way😂😂but I think a student can do way more bad things then having blond hair🤷

This story gets more interesting in every chapter, the reason why I don't give a rating of five stars to this volme is because the election thing is a little bit boring, but the rest is as good as always in the previous volumes. Super recommended.

This pair are getting a bit dull tbh. Volume 5 and they’re still will we, won’t we, better not, but ok fine. I mean, it’s cute, but I wouldn’t say I’m invested. I’ll continue with the series, see what happens. Mainly because I’m ocd about leaving series half arsed.
