This volume, geared to amateur and intermediate woodworkers, covers all types and variations of hand tools from measuring and making tools, hand saws, chisels, boring tools, smoothing and shaping tools, striking and fastening tools and clamps. Throughout each section and each tool, there are great little shop tips and at the start of each one the different types of tool and their uses are shown and described (very helpful for those of us with limited knowledge of the tools themselves). While a lot of what is included is beyond my knowledge and experience, I found this a really easy volume to follow with clear writing and instructions and good illustrations with just the right level of detail.

If you are a beginner, like myself, I would start with this one. I've read most books in this series and it would have really helped if I had started with this.
