The Easter Story: How Easter changed the world forever

Rate this book
What is the Glory of Easter? Easter is what Being a Christian is all about. The significance of the morning Jesus first rose from the grave is that it shows the morning is a new day, the payment for our sins is paid, our sins were forgiven forever. Easter is about the hope of things that are happening on earth, that more and more people will join us in heaven for eternity. Everything connected with Easter is showing the reality of why we have faith in the future, with optimism and hope for eternal life with God in Heaven.

We need to learn to be positive in the face of all the difficulties we deal with on Earth. We must always be actively advancing in our quest to serve Christ. The difficulties we face are real. Our faith in Jesus that he is with us all the time, and holding us up, so we can get through whatever we need too.

Why is it hard to get people to believe in Jesus? It is hard for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that people don't want to give up sin. We are all sinners and many people like to sin and therefore don't want to believe that it's wrong. The other main reason is, people have a hard time believing in things they can't see, even the disciples were so distraught about Jesus being crucified, they didn't even believe that he really rose from the dead until they actually saw him and touched him.

Unbelief is a natural thing, it's a natural response to the supernatural. It takes work and faith to convince unbelievers. We need to do less proving more proclaiming the great news, and showing them there is something better. No amount of proof will convince someone who has no desire to believe. That's why there are atheists, atheist have no desire to believe so they deny God exists. The disciples reaction after they saw Christ had risen shows it was real. They suddenly turned from depressed broken men, into men that gave their lives to spread the word of the Savior.

Why is Easter so special? The resurrection of Christ was so radical because it changed everything. The Resurrection is the entire basis for Christianity, without the resurrection, Christianity would not exist. We need to believe that every day of your life is a new beginning working towards the final goal, spreading the word of the free gift from Jesus to everyone, so everybody can have eternal life in heaven with God.

Jesus rising from the grave was very special. The resurrection of Jesus was much different than all other resurrection miracles. All the others were people that were brought back to life, but they all did die again. Jesus resurrection was permanent, never to die again. Jesus could have come back from the dead and went after the Pharisees to get revenge. He didn't do that, he came back and his message was love. He died to save the sins of all of us so we could have salvation. His focus was on the future not the past.

My name is Steve Pease. I live in the Northern suburbs of the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

I have been writing for about six years. I've written several hundred articles for HubPages and for examiner over the years. For Examiner I wrote a column for the Twin Cities on Disc golf, and one on Cycling in the Twin Cities, and one on Exercise and fitness for the Twin cities.
I write on subjects I am passionate about, disc golf, exercise, photography, cycling, fishing, and topics that deal with Christian beliefs.
My father is a retired minister, and he has written many books. I have edited many of them and have them available on my site that cover many topics of interest to Christians today. I have also written an Old Testament trivia book on my own.
I have been playing disc golf since 1978 and love the sport. The greatest thing about disc golf is at age fifty eight I’m still very competitive and beat players much younger than me. Disc golf is a sport you can play at almost any age as long as you can walk.
I have taken several hundred thousand pictures over the last 35 year's and I'm always trying to improve my photography. My goal is always to take the big shots I can. I want people to say wow when they look at my shots. I went through the photography course at New York Institute of photography many years ago. What I learned from the course and my years of experience was worth every dollar.
The key to be a great photographer is to see things that most people don't see, or in a way they didn’t see it. My favorite types of photography are landscape, portrait, animals and infrared. I have shot several weddings and spend hundreds of hours just exploring different places looking for great things to take pictures of.
I have been an avid fisherman since I was a kid. I have had 2 bass fishing boats over the years, but I enjoy fishing for my kayak. I have a sit inside old town kayak, and a sit on top feelfree Moken 12 fishing kayak. I also have two old town canoes for going to the boundary waters wilderness area or just paddling around lakes in my area.
The hardest part about fishing from a kayak is trying to decide what not to take with me. As with most bass fishermen I have tons of equipment, and I always feel I need to take it all with me, just in case. Kayak fishing has made me downsize just to make everything fit in my kayak.
I spend most of my fishing time catching bass and northern pike. But if I'm looking for a good meal, you can beat crappies and sunfish. I have spent most of my time fishing freshwater, but I have caught saltwater fish. The biggest was a 380 pound bull shark off Key West Florida in 1985.
I have also have loved biking and exercising since I was in my early teens. I like to read nonfiction book so I can keep learning new things all the time. Many of the things I learn I want to share with you and help enrich your life. I want to pass on the knowledge I have learned over the years and share it with others.

Thanks again
