This was the final book in the Tempest series at Tempest is home with her father, brothers and Mark. Tempest knows that soon she will become merQueen whether she wants to or not. Nothing could prepare her for what is going on below the land.

Kona arrives and brings news that the merQueen has died and that Tempest has to return once again, only this time going back home may not happen anytime soon. Tempest decides to break up with Mark not wanting him to be caught up in this game with Tiamat.

After Kona leaves her in Coral Straits they both find out their kingdoms have been severely compromised. Tempest ends up being held prisoner by the evil idiotic Sabyn who is trying to double cross Tiamat and wants to marry Tempest to have control of her and be the rightful merKing what he doesn't know is that Tempest would rather die than marry him.

Kona and Mahina both attempt to rescue Tempest Mahina arriving first gets Tempest out of Coral Straits where the find Kona at the outside of the gates and take them to an island to regroup and figure out what to do next.

This book had so much up and downs and wondering if Tempest was going to wind up dead because the cards were severely stacked against her. But I will give Tempest one thing she is a darn great fighter sacrificing herself time and again to make sure that Tiamat didn't win. The promise she mad to Rio comes up a few times with how fierce Tempest was in making sure this ended once and for all. What an incredible story I felt like I was under the water with all these great people!

Tempest Revealed is the last book in the Tempest series by Tracy Deebs. I've never had much luck when it came to mermaid books, but I love how Deebs tackles underwater action and heartfelt romance. In this last installment, Tempest is torn between two worlds. Sea vs Land. Responsibly vs Heart. She must make the ultimate choice to become the merQueen and defeat Tiamat and her evil minions or be human with her family and Mark. Since the two worlds seem to collide, it's not like she can have both...or can she?

So much fun! Tempest Revealed is a whirlwind of heart-pounding action and excitement and it all starts when Kona came to find Tempest and tell her the news that Hanilla has died, making Tempest the rightful merQueen of Coral Straits. Together they must fight Tiamat's plan for immortality (by drinking the blood of mermaids to keep her young and beautiful) with Tempest as her golden prize. But when they finally get down to the ocean, Tempest was taken by the twisted Sabyn. An enraged Tempest fights her abductor and escapes with help, but the horrific experience only fuels her determination. The ultimate battle has begun between the ocean leaders to finally destroy Tiamat, the evil Sea Witch once and for all, but not without a few surprises along the way.
I absolutely loved where Deebs took this story, so many twist and turns I never saw coming. I've always adored the way she can pen life under the sea. Mesmerized by the rich bold colors and beauty of it all. I also love the fact that this women can write fightin'! Pulse pounding, kick-ass merpeople and human come together in an underwater smack-down to the death! Yeah baby!

In a way, I'm actually kinda glad that this is the last book in the series but that's only cause my heart can't take anymore heart-fail and the back and forth decisions that Tempest had to make was almost my undoing. I get the why's, really I do. Torn, confused and under an incredible amount of pressure and responsibility, Tempest is allowed to make human teenage mistakes, but it was still hard and frustrating to read at times.
Still, I loved this character. I love her strength and determination. During some of the most tortuous situations she was put under, she never gave up or gave in. She fought for her people and her Sea.
I've always had the biggest crush on Mark since the first book. He's proven so many times how much he loves Tempest. I love their moments in this one. He's the kind of guy that is just so supportive, loyal, protective and will do anything for you. He's had to take a lot a crap from Tempest and yet through it all he's still there, loving her.
As for Kona, I was a big fan in the first book, but lately his attitude has been very cold and bitter and quite frankly immature. But he earned a spot in my heart after it was all said and done. Since this is the last book, I don't want to spoil who Tempest finally picks in the end, but I will say that I'm happy with her choice.

Bottom line, I had so much fun reading the last installment in the Tempest series. The adventurous story-line and breathtaking romance will put readers in the mood for basking on that perfect lazy summer days while escaping to the rumble of the ocean along with Tempest, Mark, Mahina and Kona.
Loved that ending and this still holds the record for best mermaid series in my book so far. It will truly be missed!

SPOILERS AHEAD: you've been warned

Let me start with this, this book as well as the second book and probably the first has a lot of poor writing as far as plot development and successful character development in it. Not too mention everything was so cliche and obvious.

Where to start? How about the love triangle which seemed to bother people the most. This love triangle was probably the most poorly executed love triangle I've ever read about and that's saying something because I've read twilight (jk sort of). Not only did she leave Kona in the middle of a war which was a very selfish thing to do in the last book but all of a sudden nice level headed Kona is bitter and yet again vilified which is to be semi understandable but once again Tempest doesn't really care. The characters are not the same characters as book one, and not in the good way as a result of character growth or decay but closer to the author forgetting who the characters actually were.

I read the entire trilogy in two days so the characters were very fresh in my mind. The rapid character changes with no valid reasons or explanations as to why was puzzling and obvious. The flip flopping love triangle seems to die down and it turns into a flat hackneyed relationship. I don't think I've ever been so disgusted with a couple like I was with Mark and Tempest. There really was nothing substantial to their relationship other than the unctuous feelings they gave off and poor decisions they made as well as shallow feelings that were so fickle in the second book I thought I would get whip lash going between Mark and Kona.

I was actually glad when the book ended, the end to a trilogy that fell apart after the first book. The author tries to wrap up loose ends in the end but fails miserably when she randomly pairs characters off to get married like a Disney movie. Something I might have liked when I was five but not something that belongs in a ya novel like this one.

Regarding the last epic battle between evil and Tempest (at this point I can't even call her good), well let's just say instead of Tempest revealed the book should be called Tempest Anticlimactic. All of that build up between three boos and poof. Epic writing disappointment.

Honestly just re-read the last twenty pages of the last novel and pretended that was how the series ended and then got rid of the other books.

Yawn.... That's all I have to say. This book was predictable. I was hoping she would choose Kona but went with Mark instead. For one thing she was already with him when the series began and I love it when books describe the meeting of two people who are suppose to be together. I knew when book 2 ended that there was no going back to Kona. This book was very disappointing and by the end I wanted to stop reading and chuck it.

Since I haven't read a well written mermaid based novel in a while, I was super psyched when I got accepted by Netgalley to review Tempest Revealed, the last installment in Tracy Deeb's exhilarating Tempest Series. There has been no shortage of mermaid/siren novels released in the past year, but only a few of them caught my attention, Tempest Rising obviously being one of them. As soon as I flipped to the first page, I knew it was going to be a keeper and eagerly waited for the rest of the series to release. Now we've finally reached the last novel, and although it's sad to see this incredible series come to an end, it's also exciting to see the protagonist triumph over evil and finally obtain her well deserved happily ever after.

Tempest Maguire can be described in a countless number of ways, but if you asked me to do it in four or less words, I would say Reckless, Stubborn, and Possibly Insane. There were plenty of times when I admired the lengths she took in order to ensure her loved ones' safety, but there were also moments when I felt that she acted too recklessly. She did think things through calmly and rationally on occasion, but the majority was spent literally swimming head-first into bad situations, giving no thought to the consequences that might follow after.

Since she was half mermaid/half human and had strong connections to both land and ocean, I understood why her loyalties were divided and why she was so desperate to stay a mermaid but still maintain a firm grasp on the humanity that was slowly slipping away. However, even though she stated several times throughout the novel that she cared about what happened to the Merpeoples in her domain, I never once saw that train of thought translated into action. Although I did have many issues with Tempest's character that I did not have in prior novels, Tempest did still keep many of her more commendable attributes. I loved the fact that she never backed down and continued fighting desperately with all that she was, even when the odds were stacked against her.

I didn't exactly hate the romance, but I was no where close to enjoying it either. If you've been keeping up with this series, you should already know that there are two love interests. Kona, the current Selkie King who was recently dumped by Tempest when she returned to land, and Mark, the first man to ever claim her heart and the man who is undeniably human. I've been a die-hard Team Kona fan during the whole series....up to this point. Jealousy is, of course, expected, but his possessiveness and clear disregard of Tempest's feelings, especially when they had merit, annoyed the hell out of me. He changed so much that I hardly even recognized him anymore. I've never vehemently hated Mark, but I never really cared for him as a love interest either. Now that I think of it, Kona and Mark sort of flip flopped in personalities. In Tempest Revealed, it seemed like Mark was the one who did the sweet, sentimental things instead of being his usual pee-on-what's-mine, jealous, jerkish self.

Tempest Revealed was fast paced and filled to the brim with heart-pounding action, yet I felt like the ending was rushed waaaay too fast. Once you get to the last installment of a series, you expect the author to create a huge finale scene and go out with a loud and glorious bang. To have all the questions you asked yourself from previous books answered thoroughly. That was definitely not the case here. I mean, it's been more than a week since I've finished reading this book, and I'm still left reeling from that abrupt ending. The author spent all of her time building the plot, increasing the tension, slowly but surely chugging towards the climax, and when we do finally reach it, nothing happens. I expected the final battle between Tempest and Tiamat to be this huge, electricity-flinging, water-slamming, whirlpool-creating thing of epic proportions, but it only lasted a measly five or six pages. I felt cheated.

In conclusion, Tempest Revealed still kept it's trademark action scenes, but ended up disappointing me in so many ways. I didn't enjoy the romance, because most of it was Kona and Mark possessively yanking Tempest back and forth in some sick game of tug of war. The action was well paced and had me clinging to my seat, up until the end at least, where things went downhill fast. Although Tempest Revealed fell short of my high expectations, I still had a great time reading it, despite its many flaws.

I received this e-ARC from the publishers via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

I was totally psyched to get the approval from the publishers for Tracey Deebs' Tempest Revealed! This trilogy has been a fun one that definitely takes a fun twist to mermaids! Tempest definitely makes for one intriguing mermaid as she was born one but it's not until she turned seventeen that her mermaid powers and abilities come into existence and when they do it's just like bam! Her whole life has changed and not necessarily for the better. Since she's become a mermaid, her life has gotten more dangerous and lot more complicated. Trying to balance her mermaid life and her human life isn't easy, and she cannot always make it work.

Tempest is home for break after battling Tiamat yet again. The merQueen, Hailana, is back in the kingdom on her death bed. It's been decided that once she dies, Tempest will come back and take over. But in the mean time she's spending time with her family and Mark, her boyfriend.

But before she knows it she's Kona is there to tell her it's time for her to go back, the merQueen is dead and her kingdom needs her. Tempest doesn't really want to leave Mark and her family, but she knows she must go, and tearing herself away from Mark is harder than she thought it would be. And the swim back with Kona is more challenging than she expected because he still holds a grudge of sorts for their breakup.

When Tempest returns to her kingdom, it's to find that it's already underule by the new merKing, Sabyn, who had been working with Tiamat last time around and betrayed them all. He wants her to be his queen and Tempest wants nothing to do with him.

The battle begins after Tempest makes her escape with Mahina where they meet up with Kona and the remaining survivors of the ocean. Tiamat had been very busy in Tempest's absence in taking over the entire Pacific Ocean. Now Tempest and her friends will have to work together in order to defeat her.

This was a wild ride of a read! It's hard to say exactly all that happens without spoilers, as you know! I've been noticing my reviews have been longer lately and I am trying to hem that in with shorter reviews, but I struggle with it! I just get excited and don't want to leave anything out! But I think I did pretty good here, even though I know I am leaving lots out!

The first part of the book was a tad slow for me, this was when Tempest was still on land and trying to live a normal life for a short time, but once she gets under the ocean is when the pace starts to move a little faster. Tempest hits one problem after another and she never seems to catch a break. The girl goes through hell in this one and yet she manages to survive through it in order to get to the final battle to end Tiamat and all her enemies, which are many and are accumulating.

There was quite a bit of tension in this one in regards to Kona. He didn't handle the breakup well since he loves Tempest, and of course losing his family and more played havoc with his emotions. But the time under the ocean that Tempest spends with him is seriously ripe with tension! It's clear that while Kona acts like a jerk at times, that he's not over Tempest. Throw Mark into the picture and things get a little crazy!

It's weird, in the first book, I was sure I liked Kona. I guess because that was what Tracey wanted the reader to do, but by the second book I was totally for Mark, even before it ended. He makes my heart melt with the love and devotion he has towards Tempest. So it kind of rattled my nerves a bit when Kona tries to start things up with Tempest again, as well as rattling her nerves.

The ending was what I was expecting in the long run! The story moved pretty fast with a few moments of downtime in between, but were really more battle strategy moments. One thing that I kind of wished was touched on more was what happened with Tempest's family. Sure, Tempest says this and that, but I wanted to see for myself, you know? Just a kind of closure. Then there's another thing, that I cannot mention that just kind of popped up out of nowhere and it took me by surprise. There was one tiny hint at the end prior to this conclusion, but I guess I overlooked that hint. It's conclusion, however, I felt was just kind of random in some sense, just to push forward towards that HEA ending. And like with any series ending, you know that there will be a HEA ending for the heroine but it wasn't without its own heartache,

Tempest Revealed was everything I hoped it to be! It was fast, exciting and filled with plenty of action, romance and tension! I am sad to see this series end, but I feel that Tracey did a helluva job of ending it!!

Disappointing ;/ I expected this book to be about fighting Tiamak but no, there just had to be many "emotional moments"... Oh I love you but i can't be with you'cus it's soooo dangerous... <--this book was about that. Just like Twilight... yawn.
And it's not like I'm made of stone - this so called "emotional moments" were just flat, badly written, cliche, super obvious and didn't really do anything to help with the plot. And characters, no, people which I liked in previous books suddenly became just names on a paper... Tracy Deebs disappointed me ;c She can do better.
Do you know that feeling when the book you were waiting for so much turned out to be a crap? Yeah, I'm so experiencing it right now. Shame.

SPOILERS AHEAD, I repeat SPOILERS AHEAD!
So the first book was great and the second book not the best, but not the worst I’ve ever read, but this one? Ugh. Here are my issues:

Love triangle:
To begin with, you’ve got a female lead with wicked powers but she’s kind of weak. First book we see tempest unable to trust her boyfriend, Mark, of 2 years and the chemistry between them iffy at best. In walks in Kona and the chemistry is definitely there, and towards the end of the first book she’s with Kona and her journey is just beginning. Second book has the chemistry between tempest and Kona slightly waning, and then she randomly bumps into mark and suddenly there’s literal sparks when they touch, and they can’t live without each other. Tempest is broken and loves both, and is so sorry she’s always hurting them but chooses mark and dumps Kona a few days after his parents are murdered and he has to become king. Now third book starts and she’s with mark now trying to split her time between merworld and human world which is impossible. When she has to go become queen of the merpeople, she decides it’s safer to leave mark for good and never look back. Shes kidnapped and tortured, and escapes then regroups with Kona who still loves her and would take her back in a heart beat though he’s overly controlling and frankly stupid. Mark manages to scour the ocean and find tempest, and they’re back to lovey dovey though he also is overly controlling and stupid. In the end she ends up with the human mark which is stupid as he will live out his life and die after 60-70 years, where as tempest will live for up to 1000 years. Also, there’s the small fact that she is a mermaid who spends ALOT of her time in the ocean and he is a human. Who can’t break under water or communicate under water! Ugh just the worst match ever. Oh and as an obligatory happy ending for Kona, he marries tempests best friend.

Character development:
There is none. The end.

The ending:
You just know when you get to the last quarter of the book and there’s still so much left that needs to play out that it’s going to be bad, and this was no exception. We’re at the end, at the big battle and it reads like a after thought. Maybe spent a whole 3 paragraphs on the battle between tempest and Tiamat who is the main big bad and then it’s over. Then we almost immediately cut to the epilogue where we get no more info other than tempest and mark get their happily ever after. We are still left with unanswered questions as well as that feeling like something is missing. It’s like she got bored and finished it just so she could say she was done!

Meh 3.5-3.75 stars

Logistical inconsistencies and a few grammar/ punctuation errors were annoying and slowed me down. Needs stronger editing.

Writing internalized sexism into Tempest’s character was disappointing, as author did with other books in the trilogy. T is only 17/18 and puts so much pressure on herself. I know it’s meant to serve the story but its harmful and unnecessary.

Repair w Rio was really sweet.

At the end T’s the hero for defeating the villains but gives away some of her power but claiming Mark is the best part of her or whatever and that he helps her hold onto her humanity when that’s just not true. Throughout the series, she holds her humanity and integrity tightly especially bc she’s adamant about not becoming anything like her mom.

The HEA felt rushed, esp w Kona marrying Mahina. Obvious and expected but still boring without more details. Mahina’s character could’ve been flesh out more.

Tempest has been trying to live as both a mermaid and a human, swimming back whenever she can find time from helping with the clan recover from Tiamat’s attack to visit her family and Mark, her boyfriend. But when Kona arrives to tell her that Hailana was dead and she needed to return, things go from bad to deadly.

Very exciting though after all the buildup, the end was a little too easy. I wish the guys had had more of a role in the final battle. Not very realistic to have the girl be the main (and in parts only) fighter no matter how powerful she is. And what a romantic switcherroo. I like it.

Footnote: 1) FYI: the pic of Tempest on the front cover looks younger Tempest on the previous two. Younger than she should me at this point.

Fave scenes: telling Logan she’s a mermaid, Tempest taking care of herself in the dungeon, Tempest’s skirmish with Kenji and Tiamat’s demise.

2.75/5 This series was ok when held up against other mermaid books I've read.

Some things that really bugged me was tempest inability to pick one guy and stick with him i feel like for most of books one and two and the first chapters of book three when she was with one guy but wanted the other. Also to me the big fight climax scenes in book two and three had way to much in common and were predictable.

I found myself really liking the side characters in this series way more then I did the main one but thats really not uncommon for me.

Overall while I didn't hate this book there were too few things to really hold my interest and it became really predictable so that's why I'm giving it 2.75/5 didn't dislike it enough for two stars but didn't enjoy it enough for 3.

It is probably weird to say but I enjoyed this book the most out of the trilogy. The first one can be dry as most first books tend to be because they are building the character's foundations and personality. However, as a person who loves action books, books 2 and 3 were riveting. This one was almost all action and did not disappoint. It revealed so much about the characters. As a person who gets annoyed as predictability I was glad that she did not end up with Kona. I found him super cocky and he seemed to think that having power was what made a person the best. Mark was an action guy who stood firm in his beliefs and his temper tantrums actually made sense, unlike Kona's, whose were just because he didn't get what he wanted.

Oh geez, I forgot to review this book, so I re-read it to make sure my thoughts were solid and all that, and they haven't changed at all in the four-ish years that I've had this gathering dust on my shelf.
Man, I was so done with the love triangle in this book when it first came out and that has not let up at all. It's just poorly constructed, and we all knew who she was gonna end up with (although I won't say it because I'm not a dick). The compulsive readability of the first novel is lost in the second, and certainly lost here, buried in bad cliches and frustrating/boring characters. Basically it ends with a whimper.

Some of Tempest's decisions were a little shaky in this one, why would Tiamet think that just because she'd left her father and brothers and boyfriend and gone back to the ocean, that she didn't care for them anymore? She thought she was protecting them by appearing to turn her back on them, but didn't seem to consider what would happen if Tiamet saw through her plan! She left them total unprotected, in a place where they went into the ocean to surf every day!

I liked that she stuck with her decision about Mark, but at times she really wasn't all that nice to him 🤦 Telling him she was leaving him, and then being surprised when he didn't take it well? Really Tempest?

Okay. So I added this book to my TBR back in 2012. That's 6 years ago! I was 16! So to read it in 2018 at the tender age of 22 ? Ehhhh this book did not impress me. I wish I had read it 6 years ago because I would have enjoyed it much more. Unfortunately my library didn't have a copy of this book and only recently I figured out how to check it out as an E-book. So there was a lot of cringing involved while working my way through this book. The plot was extremely predictable. The ending was way too perfect, and I wanted Tempest to end up with a different person than she did. BOO.

I honestly dont get why (spoilers ahead) She ended up with mark when its believed that their kind can live up to 800. So what? When mark dies shes going to go with kona? I hate the love triangle. The plot was good but the love triangle was too much. It was uncalled for. I get that she and mark had known each other for so long but you know sometimes, year of being together doesnt sum up or weigh down for youto choose that person. God, i really hate the love triangle. I already love kona and somwehow she ends up with mark.

A decent read but the author kept going back her feelings, and basically + personally, I felt a lot was redundant. I skipped so many pages because I knew how she was feeling already and I didn't need to go through it again. Yes, although she's a teenager and she's in a dilemma but yeah, just a whole lot of unnecessary moping.
