"We highly recommend this book to all discerning holistically minded pet parents." –Healthful Dog, The U.K.'s #1 Holistic Pet Health Magazine
Did you know that a sick animal needs only one medicine to heal multiple complaints? The Practical Handbook of Veterinary Healing Our Companion Animals from the Inside Out opens your eyes to the enormous potential of homeopathy. Our beloved companion animals often suffer from chronic diseases or repeating complaints that respond only temporarily to traditional treatments, requiring frequent or even lifelong dosing. As the staunchest advocate for your own cats and dogs, you can greatly increase their health by learning to recognize chronic disease and partnering with a homeopathic veterinarian. Together, you can avoid, reduce, or eliminate your animal's dependence on medications.
Homeopathic veterinarians rely on your observations to evaluate treatment, and this book, full of success stories, will teach you exactly what information is needed in order to help your animals not only heal, but regain their former vitality, energy, and zest for life.
Wendy Jensen grew up in three different countries, landing finally in New Hampshire with her husband to practice homeopathy, play violin, and raise her children. She received her veterinary degree from Cornell in 1987. She has authored two non-fiction books on homeopathic veterinary medicine, and is currently writing a novel about a young woman in the animal protection movement who is struggling to survive abuse in her own life.
This book has a misleading title. It is much more about the principles of homeopathy than about the veterinary aspect. I did not see anything practical in the book.
There was some helpful information about case taking in respect to animals but it is not helpful at all if you are looking to learn about the remedies in homeopathy in relation to animals. In many of the cases the author talks about she does not even mention the remedy she used.
Her writing style is often confusing and some of her analogies not very helpful. I would not consider this book for the homeopathic novice.
This is really information on how homeopathy works specifically in animals. Not really helpful if you want to use remedies to help your pet. Not what I was hoping for. As I am already using remedies successfully for myself and my family, I was hoping to get info on what remedies are helpful for the animals.
Although this book provides a nice overview of veterinary homoeopathy it does not provide any real guidance on what remedies to use for your pets. The author does provide some impressive stories of remedy and recovery but really no help for those seeking to treat their pets independently. Hence I was disappointed.
