Falling in love with a person you've never met isn't the brightest idea, but Dylan Jones cannot help the fact that he's done just that. As a star hockey player, he's had his fair share of attention when it comes to the fairer sex, and he's tired of it. When he hears a woman in the stands yelling out nothing but insults at him, he wants to meet her. The only problem standing in his way is the fact that she's a single person in a sea of eighteen thousand fans. For Casey Holcomb, a relationship is the furthest thing from her mind. After getting some health news she's been expecting, she's more focused on an upcoming surgery than finding a beau. That doesn't stop her father from stepping in to play matchmaker. Stuck with Dylan as a date to a charity ball honoring her mother, Casey tries to make the best of things. Little does she know, the captain of the team has his eyes on her and her heart isn't quite as shielded as she thought. Will Dylan be able to woo his number one fan? Or will outside forces drive the two of them apart before they have a chance to connect?
I have always had a passion for the written word. Along with that, I've always had ideas for stories swimming around in my head. It finally got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore and had to start getting my thoughts down on paper. There are still too many ideas, but I am working to get them out as fast as I can. My hope is that one day my brain will be mine again.
Other hobbies of mine include: drawing, baking, arts and crafts, motorcycles, hockey and archery. I like to think I have eclectic tastes where my hobbies are concerned. I love to laugh and try to make myself smile at least once a day. With the crazy thoughts going on in my head that usually isn't hard.
Okay, the story was good, don't get me wrong. I was just left feeling it would lead me in a different direction. I really wanted to see the characters go through her cancer and breast reconstruction. I felt that is where the story was leading us to. What I got felt rushed and while the characters like able, it was hard to get sucked into their love story. It was all rushed and lacked passion. Casey, while smart mouthed and not big on love, I had a hard time buying her connection to Dylan.
Also the ending was a great drama and effect but was also rushed in my opinion. It missed Dylan and Nelson talking about what happened. There was little detail as to what happened with Steph.
I wouldn't say that I wouldn't recommend reading but I won't say it's a drop your current book now and read.
And this is nit picky, but the cover is lack luster. I won't lie, sometimes I pick books to inquire about Bc of the cover. I kept seeing this book and thought the summery sounded good so I over looked the cover.
