It's Valentine's Day, and candy heart sayings mock Drew Engledown's lonely state. He wants more in his life than work, but hasn't met anyone he can imagine spending his life with. When he puts his own life at risk to save a friend, he's sent back in time to Regency London and mistaken for a murdered earl. Has he been given a chance at love with the earl's beautiful widow, or will he suffer the same fate as the previous lord?

When her husband's heir lays claim to all she once owned, Lady Engledown is left nearly destitute. So she doesn't know whether to be relieved or angry when the earl returns but claims he's not her husband. Could he be telling the truth, or is he toying with her? She doesn't know what to think of this man who is so different from the husband she never loved. Can they find happiness together, or will this man she comes to love leave her worse off than before?

So this is a beautiful story with time travel and hope for not only a better future but love. You have Drew a man who see's his newly married best friend and realizes, the closeness between husband and wife, the love he sees, he wants that for himself. Saving his friend's life sends him back in time to Regency London where he finds a woman, who just by looking at her, makes his breath catch, only problem is he looks exactly like her murdered husband. What entails is a story of hope and opportunity. A story that made me smile and most definitely a story I recommend everyone should read. Beautiful and eloquent this is a story that makes you feel.

The Review:

Drew Engledown is feeling lonely and the mocking candy hearts sayings aren't helping, never mind the fact that it's Valentine's Day. He knows he wants more in his life than work, only problem is he's never met a woman who he cant imagine living without. When he puts his own life at risk to save his friend, he's sent back in time to Regency London, and mistaken for a murdered Earl. Has fate sent him back in time for a chance at happiness with the Earl's beautiful widow, or will he suffer the same fate as the previous Lord?
After the death of her husband, Lady Engledown is left nearly destitute, by her late husband's heir, when he lays claim to all she once owned. So when the Earl returns she's unsure if she should be relieved or furious when he claims to not know her. Could he be telling the truth, or is he playing an elaborate cruel joke? Unsure of what to think of the man who looks like, yet is so different from her husband she never loved. Can they find happiness together, or will this man she comes to love leave her worse off than she ever could imagine?

This time-travel Valentine’s romance begins when the hero, Drew, gets clobbered by a double-decker bus in our time and travels back to the year 1818. There he finds himself taking the place of a man with the same name and the same face but a very different character, and given an opportunity to save his possible forbear’s widow from ruination. Will he fall in love with her in the process? And if he does, will fate give him the chance to remain in the past?
Julia Engledown’s in a bad spot and subject to ruination at the hands of a ne’er-do-well relation following her husband’s death. If she can substitute this man so miraculously fallen into her life, claim that her husband’s returned and save her fortune, it’s a God’s send. If she feels for this substitute an attraction she never felt for her real husband, so much the better.
I loved the ease with which the author pulled me into this story and I loved the spunky heroine and the hero truly worthy of the name. A truly enjoyable read!

I was given an ARC for an honest review.

Time travel to discover your true love? Worked for Drew.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, Drew Engledown is facing another lonely holiday until fate steps in – or plows into him. Waking in Regency England and in the arms of the widow Lady Engledown , Julia, he is mistaken for her murdered husband. After much deliberation he assumes the dead earl’s persona and is soon doing a much better job at being Julia’s husband than his predecessor.
I loved the development of Drew and Julia navigating the kinda-married situation they find themselves in and the awkward positions that two hundred years creates. As Drew attempts to fit into society and help save her family’s finances, Julia tries to understand the new sensation of desire Drew has presented.
When Drew is faced with returning to present day – well I’m not giving that away. You’ll enjoy finding out as much as I did.

When Drew Engledown saves his best friend from being hit by a London double decker bus, he time travels to 1818 where Julia Engledown, Countess of Payne, has lost her husband in an accident as well as her estate. Both her money and estate have been taken over by her deceased husband’s cousin, and Julia is forced to sell her jewels to try to keep the estate solvent and servants paid.

As a look-alike of Julia’s husband, Drew slips into the role of her husband, now found, and recovering from an accident. He must try to discover what happened to the estate’s wealth, leaving Julia and her mother-in-law in destitute conditions.

Will sparks fly between Julia and Drew? Can he solve the mystery to lost estate’s monies? Can he find a way to return to the present? Or will be stay in the past?
This is a charming Regency time travel.

I was given an ARC for an honest review.

Very sweet romance, hero Drew saves his friend from being hit by a bus and is transported back in time. Julia has been widowed and is about to lose everything due to mismanagement of the estate. Drew arrives and looks like her dead husband. Bring in the mother-in-law who cooks up the scheme to have Drew to pretend he's Julia's dead husband found alive.

This was a very engaging story, the way Drew and Julia interact and begin to fall for each other kept me reading.

While Regency England is not usually on my reading list, anything time travel will coax me into unfamiliar territory. What I appreciated most about Emma Kay’s fanciful romp is that she didn’t over-complicate the Regency setting. And, she didn’t dwell on the method of time travel.

Both settings...modern day London and its Regency-era counterpart...played second fiddle to the touching romance that developed between Drew and Lady Engledown. Despite the unfamiliar surroundings, his gentleness and willingness to help a stranger, albeit a beautiful one, made Drew the perfect hero.

As always with time travel, someone has to stay and someone has to go. I found the solution perfect.

This sweet, time travel romance is a wonderful story of star crossed lovers. I'm a sucker for time travel to begin with, and to mix it with a story of soul mates and end with a satisfying HEA made me love this story so much!

Drew travels back in time from current day London to the 1800s, where an unscrupulous ancestor by the same name has squandered his wife's fortune and gambled away her future. Can he save the day and show Julia what love truly means? Like I said, loved this story and will totally look for more books by Emma Kaye.

A modern hero in a Regency setting. What's not to love? He manages to save the heroine while treating her with 21st century-style respect. Of course they fall for each other. Why wouldn't they? They're perfect for each other even if 200 years separates them. Not sure about the mechanics of the time travel, but the story is lovely anyway.

Good Time Travel Romance

This is about a man who is in an accident and is sent back to the past. He turns up in a man’s bed and they both have the same name. However, the man from the past wasn’t a good husband or son. He pretends to be this man and falls in live with the wife. Good characters and description of the past.

Time travel stories are always fun, especially when you add in romance. Even though the hero is from the present, he meshes well with the Regency heroine. This is a lovely story to tug at your heartstrings.
