I am a homeschooled indie author in high school who writes under the penname Grace Anthony. I live in rural Illinois and am a passionate reader, writer, and rider. I am often found writing on a blue laptop named Saphira. I am a self-proclaimed chocoholic, introvert, and am addicted to coffee. I plan on writing many more books in the future.
Moonfeather by Grace Anthony is a very loveable horse story. It was filled with emotion and interesting characters, and I really felt for Moonfeather. It’s a little tricky to navigate on occasion for anyone who doesn’t know anything about horses, but all around a solid read.
Moonfeather: a short horse story (Short Horse... Grace Anthony
This short story was a pleasure to read. There was plenty of excitement and adventure--not one dull moment. It made me think about how difficult and dangerous life can be for wild horses. The writing and grammar were well done and clean of errors and offensive material.
I would feel safe to recommend this book for children and those who love to read to them. It would be a nice bedtime chapter book. (I would guess that the target age for the book is 8-12 years old.)
Exciting, Informative Horse Story for Young People
This is an endearing tale of love, acceptance, and finding a place of belonging, all from the points of view of lovable horses! I enjoyed the personalities and emotions conveyed. The dialogue is well done and it seems clear that the author is familiar with horses. "Moonfeather" contains vivid description and adventure interspersed between conversations that the horses have with each other. There is a glossary in the back for the terms that readers will find handy. I love the story but I am rating 4 out of 5 stars due to the absence of paragraph breaks in the ebook format. This easy fix would make a smoother read.
What a delightful ensemble of short stories! It’s every young girl’s dream to own a horse so these stories are perfect to read to your kids and have them fall in love with reading. So not what I expected. Job well done for such a young Author.
