Since the early 1980's Brian Mannix has been an idol of mine. This autobiography tells of the fun, laughter, harsh realities of the music business and the personal highs and lows that Brian has experienced.

This book made me laugh and made me cry. Its final messages made me think.

Like any book there is the occasional typo, but they do not detract from the story or the meaning behind the story.

I would happily recommend this book to others.

Back in the X-Men days, when Brian Mannix would do radio interviews, I would tape them. I still have a couple of old cassettes there somewhere. The point being that, while I was a big Brian and Uncanny X-Men fan, I knew that they would also be entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny, because that's what Brian Mannix is. And this book was no different. I'm a stickler for spelling and grammer myself, but I didn't find the errors a distraction from reading the book. And I don't understand why someone would say the book needs to be edited. Do they mean it should be shorter? Because the only criticism I would give the book is that it needed to be longer! I would have loved to have read about the X-Men supporting Dragon on their Dreams of Ordinary Men tour, for starters. As I was reading the book, I was aware of what a lot of work it must have taken to write it. And also what an amazing job Brian has done in keeping himself employed in the entertainment industry all these years. I take my hat off to him. And if Countdown the Musical ever gets another run, I will be there! Thanks for a great read.

Massive fan of Brian, and have had the privilege of meeting him at an AB 80s show. A huge thrill!
I really enjoyed reading this book, but have to admit that the lack of editing threw me a little. Nonetheless, this is a man who has lived a wild life - still does! - been thru ups and downs, but remains grounded and at the centre of everything, is a good person.

Congratulations Brian on a great book. I laughed out loud a lot and cried a few times too.

I have been a huge fan of Brian and Uncanny X-Men for over 30 years and was so Xcited when Brian mentioned about writing this book. Brian took a huge punt to self publish so he could stick to his own artistic values and write his story in his own words and without it being edited in a boring standard fashion that seems to be the norm these days. Yes there are spelling mistakes but these can easily be fixed with another print run.

This book was the type of book that you could not put down until it was finished. I could literally hear Brian's voice in my head as I was reading his story. I have not had that happen before with other autobiographies that I have read.

As a visual person, there were plenty of photos to look at. The 'Junk in the Trunk' music that was released with the book are fantastic to listen to especially as I have learnt more about the history of these songs. The 'ME' DVD that came along with the Platinum package was also great as the footage is mentioned in various parts of the book too.

Congrats to Max Mannix who assisted Brian to achieve this goal (of self publishing) - he did a fantastic job in project managing it.

From a long time fan, Brian thank you for taking the time to write your life story down and for achieving your dream of publishing your own memoir. My copy of the book is going straight to the pool room. Lucky I have another copy (the hubby's one) so I can re-read again and again
