Suzanne Halliday continues to be an author who writes stories that I love and can get completely lost in from beginning to end. Her books are always automatic one clicks for me, and I can never get enough of her writing, her enrapturing stories, and her dynamic characters that just get better and better. Her writing is something I truly can't get enough of. What she gives me in her books is downright spectacular, and she creates a world, a set of characters, and a storyline that I am completely invested in through every single page.

She never fails to give me a story that will allow me to feel every ounce of what I'm reading in her books. She also never fails to create a well rounded and thoughtfully crafted story that gives you so many characters to fall in love with, so many stories and moments to become amazed by, and so many feelings and emotions that will truly give you it all. She balances her books so well, and they fulfill you on so many levels. Her stories make you feel and hope, and think and wonder, and through it all you're right there with her fantastic and easy to love characters, loving every single thing you're getting from them.

Sanctuary is the third book in the Family Justice Series, and was another all-feeling and consuming chapter with the Justice Brothers. It's no secret that this series is one of my favorite on going series, and I am always eager for more of them. I love all of the authentic and distinctive characters of this series to pieces, so it was great to get back with all of them once again and see where the events of this book would take them all. As with the other books in this series, the book is told in multiple perspectives and allows you to get a taste of every single fantastic character who makes up the Justice family. That is just part of why I loved this book, and the other books in this series so much because it truly gives you the best of so many worlds.

You get the phenomenal opportunity to meet and fall under the effervescent and heart squeezing pull of some new characters, while also getting more of the characters you love and want more of. That truly gives you the best balance, and Suzanne Halliday writes and creates this book in such a way that it all flows together so fluidly and in the most enrapturing way. She makes it so you have to know more about all of these characters. She pulls you in. She invests you in it all, and she lets you understand them. She let's you get them, whole heartedly, to the point where they feel like your family, which makes it even easier to fall under their intense and utterly charming spell.

All throughout this story I felt like I was apart of it because of Suzanne Halliday's phenomenal writing. She put me in it, heart first, and I lived and breathed and felt and experienced every bit of what it had to offer. I can't say that enough. I got to be with so many characters, go through so many experiences, and experience it all as if I was there living it, and that connected me to it all in the most wonderful way because it let me get every facet of what this story had to offer.

Sanctuary opens up with the story of Brody and Heather, two people who have both experienced a world of pain and hurt, and who are still reeling in the present tense of this book from those pasts. The two of them have known each other for awhile, and have always had a certain kind of relationship, but now things are changing. He wants more, and she does too, only she's afraid to let herself get close to people and to make herself vulnerable and open to love and feeling because of the past she has. They've both got pasts, and they've both got things in their presents that are holding them back and are yet to be discovered, and the more and more you read this book the more and more you will be hoping with all you've got that the two of them can figure it all out.

Sanctuary follows what happens as Brody and Heather try to figure out if they can really let themselves have the feelings that are practically bursting from them. They're at a crossroads of sorts in this book when you meet them. They both have so much to learn about one another, and Suzanne Halliday allows you to learn right along with them in Sanctuary. This book explores their intertwined journeys of healing and heartbreak and self-discovery as they see where their powerful feelings and intense connection could lead them, if they only take that risk.

It follows them as they try to find those final pieces on their path to putting themselves back together, and it allows you to be there with them as you're rooting and hoping with all you've got that they can figure it all out. Their story isn't always easy, and there are times where my heart was hurting so much for them both, but through it all I was with them, living and experiencing it all and loving every single breathtaking and all-feeling moment I got with them.

It was so beyond fabulous to get into Brody's head after meeting him in the other books in this series. That man is a gem, and is a good guy through and through. The lengths he is willing to go to for Heather and for himself in order to see what they could truly share will have you loving him even more. He completely melted me in this book with all that he says and does, and there is no way he won't win you over in this book. He's faced with many hard choices and it isn't always for him, but through it all he keeps fighting and trying and its fantastic.

Heather was a character I felt for from the moment I met her in this book. She was a fantastic addition to the Justice family, and she was someone who was the definition of resiliency. She had been through so much, more than any one person should ever go through, and the more you read this book the more you see the effects of that past and how it alters the choices she makes in the present of this book. Suzanne Halliday creates her character in a way that allows you to completely understand her and her journey in this book. You will be thrilled with what you get from her as she tries and gives it her all in order to explore what her and Brody could share, and it truly is beautiful and intense and all-feeling to say the least.

Woven into Brody and Heather's story is more of the Justice brothers that I've come to love with my entire heart. The events of this book gives you more of them all. You get Alex and Meghan, Drae and Tori, Lacey and Cam, Calder and Stephanie, and of course Parker and Angie. You get more of their stories and their journeys, and reading this book made me realize over and over again how much I love them all. I already want and crave more of them. I love them all to pieces, how dynamic and distinctive they all are, and how they never fail to make me feel or smile or laugh or blush or think or hope. Each and every one of them adds another wonderfully layered piece to this book, and they make the entire picture of this book all the more whole. I can't tell you enough how much I loved what I got from them all, and I simply can't wait for what is in store fro them all next.

Like I said, Suzanne Halliday balances the interweaving stories of this book beautifully, and in a way that balances so well and just makes sense. She gives you the perfect amount of them all, investing you more and more with every page, and through it all you feel and live and experience everything they do. Sanctuary is a book that spans continents and couples and that gives the best level of romance, meltworthy moments, healing and fight, some definite surprises, and so many moments that will just squeeze, melt, and steal your heart again and again.

Suzanne Halliday's wonderful writing brought this book and these characters to life in the most outstanding way, and she put me back with some of my favorite characters. I felt like I was part of the Justice family reading this book, and that is a true testament to what she creates with these characters and her stories. I felt like I was home reading Sanctuary, that I was back with some of my favorite people, and I loved every consuming, breathtaking, and all-feeling moment I got to experience with all of them. Suzanne Halliday's writing and storytelling truly gives you it all, and Sanctuary is a phenomenal addition to this series.

It's fun, it's meaningful, it's romantic, it's beautiful and you feel every bit of it, and that is just part of what makes this book the fantastic thing that it is. This book is not to be missed. Trust me. Read this book and fall under the effervescent spell it casts, and enjoy every fantastic word of it!

It looks like I read some of these out of order. I was always a little lost when it came to Brody and Heather’s backstory. I enjoyed getting to know their beginning and was so happy she took the plunge.

Alex and Meghan’s wedding was amazing and the welcome Heather was given by Lady Justice was perfect.

Drae and Tori have me worried, Lacey is still just as sweet and Angie is still the troublemaker.

Great book

This was a great book but it was more of a recap than Brody's story, regardless it was fantastic and looking forward to the rest of the series.

This story is a continuation of the Family Justice Series. It's not necessary to read the prior books because Suzanne does a great job in giving you the necessary back story you need to follow the plot; however, I highly recommend that you read the series in order: Always (book 1) then Desert Angel (book 2). And if you really want the back story read the Justice Brothers series.

In Sanctuary, you will meet a new character Heather. She is a university counselor. She has endured horrible pain in her short life and she doesn't trust easily. She has been surviving for years, but she hasn't been living. She has to maintain control in all aspects of her life and giving up that control is near impossible. She is willing to sacrifice her relationships with her family and friends to keep that control and she eventually finds out that giving up control can be liberating.

Brody was introduced in the Justice Brothers series, he decides to go back East one last time before relocating to the south west permanently. He has some things he needs to clear up in his life in the East and one of those things is making something out of the purely sexual relationship he has with Heather. He is ready for more and he hopes that Heather will be open to the possibilities.

Heather and Brody will fight for control in their relationship. Heather wants to try things Brody’s way but she has had control for what feels like a lifetime, how does she hand over the reigns to him without risking getting hurt? She needs to have faith that Brody will take care of her. Brody has been more than patient with Heather. He has gone along with her rules, but enough is enough. She is meant to be his and he's ready to fight for her.

The story then takes you back to the Justice family in Arizona. We read about the final days leading up to Meghan and Alex’s wedding. Things are heating up between them the closer the wedding dates approaches. This wedding turns out to be the premiere event in the Justice Clan. And then Alex and Meghan go on a month long honeymoon to Spain. If you can't get enough of Meghan and Alex, this story will give you so much about this hot and steamy couple!
You will also get updates on life after baby for Tori and Draegyn. They are struggling to get back to normal. They love baby Daniel but they need to find a balance between their parenting and sex lives. We also read about Lacy and Cameron. They are ready to give baby Dylan a brother or sister! We also read about the couples that were introduced in the previous Family Justice stories. Stephanie and Calder are still steaming up the sheets. Angie and Parker are living together and maybe someday soon Parker will propose and make an honest woman out of Angie.

If you love Family Justice you will love Sanctuary. I highly recommend this story and I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. Enjoy!

WE'RE FAMILY!!!

Heather Clarke was a single social worker and a therapist who let Brody Jensen get under her skin....They had a physical attraction but they both knew that there was more to whatever was going on between them and they wanted more as well but they were holding back.

Brody Jensen was a loner, a part instructor, a dog trainer and a member of Family Justice yet he yearned for more. He had a daughter he only saw once and never saw again and a woman who he saw hinself going old with....Heather.

Both Brody and Heather had their own demons from the past that threatened to engulf their lives but together they saw to it that never happened. Sure it wasn't an easy journey but anything worth fighting for wasn't going to be easy.

Loved Heather's mother, she kind of reminded me of Victoria's mom, those ladies were forces to be reckoned with. Along with the rest of the 'rents. Brody meeting with Heather's mom was a delightful treat

Yay Meghan and Alex finally got their wedding, I love how the Family Justice are so close...They are always there for each other no matter what.

Alex and Meghan what an incredible couple, those two complemented each other, as well as the other other beautiful couples in this remarkable series.

SANCTUARY 's a masterpiece not only did our loner dog trainer get his HEA, it was enthralling to be on this mind-blowing journey with each member of the Family Justice....I cried and laughed with them that it came to feel like I was apart of their family.

Suzanne Halliday had me falling in love with the characters from the moment she introduced the Justice guys....Alex, Cam and Drae were brothers, not by blood but by bond and their family kept on growing.

Looking forward to what comes next for the Justice Family. 5++++

What's not to love about the Alpha Justice men and their women.

I was eagerly anticipating this book because I wanted to delve deeper into Brody's character. He is the loner of the group, works training the dogs (can't get cuter than that), yet adorable and fiercely loved by the women of the Justice compound.

This book encompassed 2 stories in 1. Less than half the book was devoted to Brody and his growing relationship with Heather and trying to strengthen their affection for each other so that when Brody makes the full-time move to Arizona, Heather will go with him. Along the way, Brody's daughter is located. At this point I really wanted more in depth answers on her character since she will become a part of the Justice compound.

The majority of the book was devoted to the upcoming wedding of Alex and Meghan. There were so many great things leading up to the wedding, as well as the wedding itself. I loved how the families all came together.

The drama with Drae and Tori is a bit weary. I grasp the concept, but it seems to be dragging out a little bit.

There is love in the air between Calder and Stephanie and Heather and Brody, so I can't wait to get more in depth information on those romances.

Returning from their honeymoon, it appears Meghan will have a lot to deal with since Alex confiscated her phone for their time away.

In ending, I need to say that I did enjoy the book, but I think it would have been better split into 2 books, one Brody's story and the other the wedding. With that said, I'm still giving the books high marks because Suzanne Halliday has a way of dragging you into her storyline and is a fabulous author.

(Please don't pay attention to the length of time it took me to read this book, I was dealing with a family issue and had to put it aside).

I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange of an honest review, so here goes my POV.

Enjoyable…this is the perfect word to describe Sanctuary.

As the rest of the Family Justice books, Sanctuary is a book full of the lovable and unique characters that make the story enjoyable. What I have learned to comprehend and accept of these books, is that even though the book is supposed to be about a new love story (Brody and Heather in this case), at the end, the book is about the complete Justice Family. If you read the book with this in mind, then you know what to expect (book descriptions should include all characters).

As an enthusiast for romance books, I am disappointed because it was not a page turner. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book until the last page, actually, I want to read the next book to see what happens next. The issue with most of the Family Justice books is that they are too descriptive. Having every single detail and each character’s thoughts described so thoroughly tend to break the story instead of making each scene flow in my mind.

In my opinion, Suzanne Halliday has a great story and family going on in this series, but the books would be better with more dialogs/direct interactions between characters and less description. This is why I give Sanctuary 3.5 stars.

Note to the readers: Go ahead, read the book! Enjoy the Justice Family as I did and judge for yourselves.

Heather Clarke and Brody Jensen had a relationship based purely on sex for a few months out of the year. For the others, Brody would disappear from Heather's life to who-knows-where. Both worked together at a local school, Heather as a counselor and Brody as the resident language arts teacher. Each were emotionally scarred and feared they were too broken to be wanted by another - so this odd arrangement was the best they could muster.

Brody, after disappearing from Heather's life, sends her a Christmas card from Arizona - where he serves as the resident Justice Security canine trainer. That one simple gesture opens up a small crack in Heather's protective armor and leads them on a road to self-discovery and open hearts. Both of them learn to trust the other with secrets and demons and discover that loving someone is the greatest victory of all! Add in Cam finally locating Brody's missing daughter, and the hope and tears just started falling from my eyes.

I loved the glimpse into the rest of the Justice family. It was like visiting old friends! Plus - Alex and Meghan's wedding! It was just what I'd envisioned for the enigmatic couple.

Suzanne Halliday gave me the HEA that I was hoping for and truly wove another masterpiece with Sanctuary. You will not me disappointed. I can't wait for the next visit!

I want me a sexy dog loving book nerd cowboy!!!!!

This, right here, is my favorite Suzanne Halliday book to date! I loved Brody and Heather’s story so very much.

Brody’s character has always intrigued me from the first time his character was introduced. There has always been something about the quiet, sexy as hell book nerd that got to me. I knew there was a sexy alpha beast buried within him….

“Brody turned and said, “Wear whatever you want, sweetheart. But know this. I do not share, and if you got out looking like sex in high heels, you’ll do so with my scent on your skin.”

After reading the prior books I was really rooting for him to have his happily ever after and find his little girl. He is such a crucial part of the Justice Family and I loved the way his story played out with Heather. I loved Heather’s character! She is absolutely perfect for Brody. She fit right in with the rest of the Justice Brides and never skipped a beat!

It was great to be a part of the Major and Meghan’s wedding…. what a great way to tie it all together. Although I know there is more to come with Victoria and Drae ☺ I will be patiently waiting lol…

I felt like this book had 2 different parts. The first was Brody and Heather. I liked how Brody eased into things with Heather. He needed to have a light touch as Heather was so skittish. Everyday Brody seemed to win Heather over more and more. The big tests were when Brody talked about his Justice family. That introduction was a bit rocky at first, much like it was when Heather met everyone.

That leads us to the second part of the book, THE wedding of the group, Alex and Meghan. The wedding was a bunch of crazy, but really what can you expect from this crew. I loved how the girls welcomed Heather in with open arms. That was a good thing if Brody is every going to be able to get her to move to AZ and the Justice compound.

The one downer was the drama going on between Drae and Tori. I wanted that to be resolved, instead we got snarky remarks and things left up in the air between them. I also felt like things were resolved too quickly with Brody and his daughter. I wanted to read about what went on, not have it summed up in a few sentences.

Suzanne Halliday has done it again..I absolutely love this series.. starting with the justice brothers and now the family justice series, all the characters are so well developed that it feels like I know them. Sanctuary focuses on Brody and Heather's story, along with Megan and Alex's wedding and has a side of trouble in post baby bliss for Drae and Tori and of course input from all the other family members. Plenty of twists and turns and from Arizona, Maryland, Boston, New York, and even Madrid, and of course awesome, hot, and steamy scenes, and even though some things where left unresolved...it definitely earned five stars from me , and now I will wait patiently for the next installment to the Family justice series to find out what is next for the family justice!

I really, really wanted to like this book more. After reading the initial Justice trilogy, I was waiting to read about Brody. After all, who can't be interested in a dog-loving, bookish, ex-military alpha, right? The set up for Brody and Heather worked well, and I liked Heather immediately. The problem I had is that the story got highjacked for a good thirty percent of the book from the couple that was meant to be its focus. Yes, I like the Justice men and women, but I wanted to read about Brody, not get detoured considerably by a storyline from a previous book. Not get me wrong, the wedding scenario is a great read on it's own. I just felt that the story I came for was buried under another.

If you are looking for the genuine nice guy (with issues, of course), meet Brody. Brody and Heather bring us a "gentler" version of messed up - not the F***ery of the Justice boys, but still a mess. All the usual familial interactions are there and getting a take on all the grownups (aka 'rents, aunts, uncles, etc.) is a hoot - can't wait to get more on them! Of course, there are questions for a couple of the cast of characters, but I won't say who (that's for you all to figure out).

All in all, I have to say that between Brody & Heather and all the wedding insanity, your emotions will be on high alert. And yes, I did pull out the tissue.

Another brilliant Family Justice novel. This features Brody the Justice dog whisperer and Heather a Social worker and Therapist. They both work at the same college and have had a no strings physical relationship.
They both are suffering from PTSD and met at group therapy class 3 years prior.
The relationship is back and forth with do they or don't they make a go of it for real or just call it quits as Brody is moving permanently to Arizona. This is a great book as all the Justice crew are in the book also. It is the big build up to Alex and Meghans wedding. It is full of laughs, sad moments and some serious alpha male action. Totally worth the 5 stars

Loved this book also

I have read every book in this series and laughed and cried and smiled and enjoyed every single word that Suzanne Halliday has written. I cannot wait to read the next instalment - Onward - whenever it comes out. What an amazing cast of characters - alpha men and women, their love for each other and their love for life in the face of suspense and intrigue and pain and endurance and their amazing love of and for family and all the traditions. I shall definitely be reading this series again and again over the years ahead. These books I will always remember.

Kind of like a three-ring circus, with so much going on all around that you don't know where to look. Lots of activity here and almost 500 pages that probably could have been two books. While dealing with the Brody enigma, the story also brings to climax (so to speak) the never-ending, conspicuous-consumption, wedding to end all weddings as Alex and Meghan get married.

Too much money here, it's beginning to affect the entertainment value of the stories. There's some kernels of enjoyment here, but it's getting harder to find them.

This book was OMFG AMAZING, where can I find my brody?

Suzanne makes you believe these characters are real. You feel every emotion they experience. Every laugh, every tear they shed you experience it all.

The justice men are protectors, lovers, husbands and best friends. I want one of my own.

The justice ladies compliment their men to a T. They are loud proud and the best group of woman that I have read about. I want to be one! The friendship and bond they have made amongst themselves is truly beautiful.

You don't have to be blood to be a family.

A great read

Loved this book and the continuing story of the team justice family. The strong characters that all overcome their issues and help each other through. I like the way it's written makes you feel like you could be one of the family. The rivalry between the male and female sides shows the strong bonds that have been made following each of their separate unions. I am looking forward to book 4 to see how the family progresses.

I forgot how much I love the Justice boys and family. It was awesome reading Brody' s story. So many questions were answered but of course not all!! And Heather, another beautiful wounded soul who is so much stronger than she thinks. To feel their story...

And then, the boys...Alex, Drea, Cam...their better halves included!!

If you have not read about the Justice boys, you are missing out!!

Another great addition to the family Justice!

I have loved these alpha males since Cameron's book began it all. These follow up books to the HEA just give you more of their stories while introducing new characters. And Brodie is so hot! I love how the author keeps all the couples intertwined as their new romance's happen and the older romance's grow deeper. Great job! If you have not already you need to get to know the Family Justice.

Brody and Heather two damaged people that find their way through the pain. The story of these two is compelling as we watch Brody go slow and Heather come to the realisation that she can be happy. And if that' not enough for you there's the wedding and the introduction to more of Megan's family. What more could you ask for lol
