The grey men and their agents pursue us relentlessly. Our only hope is finding the mythical Hall of Records, where we hope to uncover the secrets of the Builders.
Our journey begins in Cairo, and will take us further than anyone could imagine. If we succeed the human race has a chance. If not, our race will be extinguished.
By day I am an iPhone developer architecting the app used to scope Stephen Colbert’s ear. By night I am Batman. Ok maybe not. One can dream though, right?
I’ve been writing since I was six years old and started inflicting my work on others at age 18. By age 24 people stopped running away when I approached them with a new story and shortly thereafter I published my first one in the Rifter.
Wait you’re still reading?
Ok, the facts I’m supposed to list in a bio. As of this writing I’m 38 years old and live just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the beautiful town of Mill Valley. If you’re unsure how to find it just follow the smell of self-entitlement. Once you see the teens driving Teslas you’ll know you’re in the right place.
I live in a tiny studio that I can cross in (literally) five steps and don’t own an oven. But you know what? It’s worth it. I love developing iPhone apps and if you want to work in San Francisco you accept that rent for a tiny place costs more than most people’s mortgage.
If you and about 2 million other people start buying my books I promise to move out of Marin to a house in the redwoods up in Guerneville. No pressure. Wait that’s a lie. Pressure.
Chris Fox delivers again. This was yet another action packed novel, we'll crafted, with few spare words that slow things down. At the same time, it didn't feel like more verbiage was needed.
Semi-spoilers coming...
So, David and company are continuing in their battle for the Earth with the grey men. Their prospects are grim. Osiris, their ally (it seems like he is at the moment) may have run into a problem that his thousands of years of life experience may not have prepared him for and things are looking rather bleak for humanity as this story ends.
Chris, if you see this, please finish up the third book in the series!!!
Not sure what's going on with the author. He usually writes a better story. It's an interesting storyline, but not as exciting as his Deathless series. I just expected more. I'm still getting the third book, though. I want to see how he ties this in with the Deathless series.
This was a fun book that's full of action, excitement, and ingenuity. The author does a great job of blending mythology, sci-fi, and fantasy elements into one narrative. It's an ambitious story and a quick, fun read from start to end.
Space battles. Land battles. Battles throughout the book. Lots and lots of action. Our heroes the humans are learning how to better utilize their powers to great effect. Suresh, one of my favorite characters, is rediscovered so for me that was a bonus. They grey men get tricky buy David adapts to their tactics quickly but it does not end as well as I would have liked. Can't win them all. Very much looking forward to how this plays out.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes science fiction . I like how it takes the pyramids around the world and incorporates them into the story. The first book and this book seem to be short to me. This book and the first book were both well-written. I can't wait until the next book comes out.
Pretty good story. Some editing errors, and formatting is messed up, with a nasty font hard coded in. Also I would say it was somewhat predictable. Still, enjoyable to read.
