Head Over Spurs

Rate this book
From the moment Tanner Barron laid eyes on Desiree Holt, he knew she was the only woman for him. His dream girl. The only problem – it was an impossible dream. Their paths crossed early on, before she became a country music star and before he had anything to offer her other than his adoration. One night, in a dark alley off 6th Street in Austin, Tanner rescues Desiree from two men who have her cornered, threatening her. She wants to thank him, but he disappears just before the police arrive. Desiree doesn’t forget, even when she’s offered a record deal and whisked off to Nashville, where she pens a song in his honor – White Knight. A decade passes before they meet again. Fate brings them together just when they need one another the most. He’s trying to find peace after a failed search and rescue mission and Desiree is seeking healing after another attack – this time by an over-zealous fan which has left her traumatized and unable to sleep. Their time together begins at Christmas, but it doesn’t end there. They find solace in one another, despite the things that could keep them apart. They’re from two different worlds, she’s famous, he’s just a cowboy who would die for her. Tanner’s not sure he’s good enough, she’s not sure she can satisfy him – after all he’s a young, virile stud and she’s almost a decade older than he is. Will distance, age, and fame keep them apart? Or will the fact that they’re head over spurs in love with one another be enough?

Desiree Holt is a famous singer with a seriously determined stalker. She has anxiety attacks and now has trouble sleeping. She goes off on her own on vacation and ends up renting a cabin from Tanner Barron. He's secretly been in love with her for ten years. She falls for him and he helps her with her anxiety attacks, but they both wonder if they can have a future together.

This is a sweet romance with a protective man and a woman who is strong but can use some protection. They have a lot of heat too. I loved it!

A wonderful second chance meeting. Two people who have noticed each other through the years. When Desiree is attacked, Tanner helps her then disappears.
Desiree had sang a song asking for her white knight to come to her. When Tanner tried, she never showed. Now she needs a place to be alone after dealing with a stalker attacking her.
Tanner had worked for Tebow for awhile now he works with Bowie and has cabins he rents out. He can't believe Desiree is here.
Will they have a chance for a future or will a truth come out and split them up?

Second Chance for Singer and Cowboy

Tanner loves hard and deep...over the years, there's been only one woman for him. Desiree might be famous, but she's not had much reason to believe in love. This second chance romance is Western, sweet, has a healthy heat level, and as usual with Hunter stories, confronts women's insecurities with the best antidote; a partner who offers unconditional love.

GREAT AND ENTERTAINING ROMANCE

An amazing love story about a Country Western singer who has a great talent and a strong fan following. Also one of her biggest fans is a young man who worships her from afar and just happens to rescue her from two attackers. Ten years later, they meet again and he becomes her rescuer once again.

Sable Hunter – The Hell Yeah! Series Head Over Spurs –Book 19

When a young man saves a lady in distress, literally, he knows that he is drawn to her but Tanner Barron walks away. After the police arrive, Desiree Holt looks around for her “White Knight” but he was nowhere to be found and she didn’t even know her name. Tanner knows who Desiree is, he has watched her from afar since he was about 15, now at 18 he saved her from attackers but he walks off because he doesn’t have anything to offer her. He was drawn to her and she would always be his Dream Girl.

Tanner moves from Austin, TX to work for the McCoy’s on Tebow Ranch. Tanner never really had a family before, so when the McCoy’s and others in the community made him part of theirs, he finally felt like he belong somewhere and that people cared about him. Tanner is also a part of the Search & Rescue Team that finds people that are lost no matter their location.

Desiree becomes one of the biggest country stars and Tanner hears the song she wrote about him, “White Knight”, begging him meet up again. Tanner knows he can’t because he is a Ranch Hand and she is rich and famous and has traveled the world. Desiree was drawn to her White Knight when he saved her and was disappointed that he never tried to contact her in all these years.

Now 10 years later:

When Tanner’s Uncle Lin died he left him his Ranch called Lost Pines Ranch. There were even a few Cabins built that Tanner rents out. He built himself a beautiful home but he has been feeling lonely and restless lately.

For a while now one of Desiree’s fans has been stalking her and progressively become more and more aggressive. In fact, the stalker almost kidnapped her, but she hit her head, fractured her skull and had emergency surgery. The anesthesia used during surgery flipped some kind of chemical switch in her brain. Now she has terrible anxiety, claustrophobia, paranoia and an inability to sleep. She is a mess.

It was Christmas time and Desiree decided to get away from everyone and not even tell her agent where she’s going. Amazingly she finds a cute little Cabins to rent on Lost Pines Ranch. Yes, fate has a way of showing up when you least expect it.

When they each realized that fate was finally on their side they both fought their attraction to each other. Tanner decides that he is going to help her with her problems and moves her into his home. What happens next is really good, but you will have to read the book to find out if Tanner can overcome his belief that he has nothing to offer her, and that Desiree will get over that she is almost 10 years older than her White Knight.

What a great addition to the Hell Yeah series!! Tanner and Desiree, are truly meant to be together, even though they live two entirely different lives. Although it had been a decade since they had saw one another, neither one of them had forgotten the other. Tanner had a slight advantage over Desiree, he at least knew her name and the fact that she was a Country Music star. Desiree only remembered the young man that saved her from two men that meant to bring her harm. When Tanner and Desiree accidentally meet again, they both are at a point in their lives where they need someone. Tanner is trying to get through a failed search and rescue, and Desiree is suffering through the trauma of another attack. She is really having a hard time, she cannot sleep and the dark of night is definitely not her friend. In this book, Sable Hunter has shared some of what she is going through with her fans. I truly hope that it was cathartic for her to write about panic attacks and dealing with them. It was also great to catch up with Jacob, Jessie, Cassie, and Bowie.
If you are already a Sable Hunter fan, you will not want to miss this one. If you are not already a Sable fan and like romance filled with fun, family, friends, forever, romance, sex and love, be sure and give the Hell Yeah series a shot, you won't regret it.

Another fantastic addition to Sable Hunter's Hell Yeah! series!!

The characters in Sable Hunter's novels are always people a reader can related to ~ they often deal with the same real life issues we all deal with in our own lives, and that's one of the many reasons I am drawn to her work. Of course, the sexy, powerful men are a plus.

While most of us are not country music stars, like Desiree, many can relate to her very real battle with anxiety and insomnia and the fact that Sable included this experience from her own life is a reminder that we are not alone in the challenges in our lives.

I appreciated that Tanner was compassionate to Desiree's struggles and didn't see them as weaknesses, but something to support her with in order to help her overcome and move past. That is his greatest strength in this novel ~ his desire to stick by her and focus on her needs.

Thank you, Sable, for opening up to your readers through your characters and for making them ones we can relate to.

I've said this before, but I believe this has become my new favorite in the series.

Heart Warming!

Sable Hunter does it again! Head Over Spurs was well worth the wait. Tanner and Desiree's story is heart wrenching, steamy and amazing. Love how Sable starts their story with mystery and trauma. Amazing how she incorporates her life experience into Desiree's character. As the story progresses, you learn more about their character and why things happen as they do. Without spoiling this book for others, I would recommend you download it and start their journey. You won't be disappointed. In fact, you will want to read the rest of her Hell Yeah series!

More than you would expect

While living her life as a country start Desiree faced many battles that were starting to control her life. When she meets Tanner everything starts to look brighter. Some of the challenges that Desiree faces is not what you will find in a book but something that a lot of people face in real life. Sable has brought forth a topic that many people suffer alone in real life.

A must read.

Thank you Sable Hunter for telling us your own personal story in this book. I was cheering for Tanner and Desiree from the very beginning. Tanner has been on the sidelines of Sable's story, waiting for his HEA. Desiree is his HEA. I want more of their story.

This is a great book all around. It deals with love and sex but---- what I like it deals with age difference and panic attacks. Desiree and Tanner are a fabulous couple. Enjoy Sable fans.

Great book, great series

So me times it takes time for things to work out. This book is a look at just that. Also age should never matter if you love someone. Love that Sable and Desiree used each others names.
