Smash was just an okay read for me. I never really bought into their emotional connection - it felt like it was nothing but sparking hormones between these two. All they ever talked about was the sex, and not much else.
I like my smut to have a bit of romance in it, at least enough to make me care if the MCs are going to make it. Unfortunately Smash didn't have that. It has a dirty talking tattooed MMA fighter but he treated the h like crap, especially in the beginning, and his attitude doesn't really change throughout the book.
Thats good to know! Also nothing makes me happier than an H who can so easily forget about his h . . .

So yeah, even with his smoking good looks, dirty talking and tattooed bod, Cole was too much of an asshat for me to like. Alexa wasn't much better - she's the type of h that begs for any speck of attention from H, easily caves because, you know, he is soooo HOT! I can tolerate some asshole behavior form the H but Cole was too much and Alexa isn't much better. It was OTT and not in a good way.
For Cole and Alexa, their relationship read like a raunchy booty call made taboo with the whole step-siblings thing going on. The whole fake-but-real marriage that happened in Thailand felt out of place and it annoyed the heck out of me how often both MCs referred to each other as wife/sis and step-brother/husband. We get it! You got (drunken) hitched and before you could divorce your parents got married. We don't need constant reminders! It wasn't that taboo really.
The writing was good, I might check out more by this author in the future, it was just this couple that didn't do it for me. This got a low rating because no matter how hot the smut, if I can't get behind at least one of the characters its a no-go for me.

I didn't expect a lot jumping into this book. But I come back out with a fluttery heart and lots of blushes. I really enjoy this book!

While Alexa was on vacation in Thailand, she meet MMA fighter Cole. Seeing her Cole had to have her. With having the time of their lives Cole decides to fake get married and Alexa can't say no. After leaving and not seeing each other for over a year, Alexa learns the marriage is real. Hoping to get a divorce but her plans go all wrong when she meets her new stepbrother Cole. Cole couldn't stop thinking about her while he was training and now they are living together. Cole has no clue that they are married and thinks she is getting him back for leaving after the time they spent together. Cole and Alexa are smokin hot together. Was an ok, very easy, no-brainer read. Could have been so much more.
All the major "reveals" were predictable so it just felt like I was going through the motions til i got to the end and even that was ho-hum at best. Left me a little disappointed at wanting more .

B. B. Hamel knocked another one out of the ball park. Her book "Smash" was incredible. I know a lot of people like me are on the line about step siblings getting married. I had to get past this feeling before I could her first book I read "Jerked". Have to say she sold me. I believe that "Smash" will be another best seller. She grabbed me from the beginning of the book and I did not put the book down till I had finished it. I laughed, I got mad, I wanted to fight....plus the model on the cover helped me to visualize Cole. Oh and the sex scenes are WOW!!!!!
Cole Redson was an MMA fighter in Thailand taking a sort break before starting his training with a well know MMA instructor. He was walking on a beach when he came across Alexa face down in the dirt after tripping on a stone she didn't see. Then after spending time together and on a drunken binge and what they thought was a fake marriage. Cole never thought he would ever see Alexa again. Boy was he wrong.
Alexa Miller was in Thailand with her friend Lacy enjoying a break from school. She ran into Cole their. Her first thought of him was that he was very arrogant and cocky. Then she got a good look of him in the moon light and realized he was oh so sexy and she wanted him. She never dreamed that a marriage thought to be fake would bring so much turmoil to her life. After returning to the states she found out the marriage was real and so that she could be rid of him she kept the marriage secret and filed for divorce and waited for the allotted time till she could get divorce since he could not be found.
Alexa and Cole both are both brought to reality when they see each other for the first time in over a year and find out that not only are they married, but they are not step brother and step sister. Their parents had gotten married while they were Thailand. Let the games begin!!!! Cole is having a good time messing with Alexa but at the same time wanting her. This review is Smash.
This book was just ok. It didn't make you think very hard. There was also very little character or plot development. All in all, it was pleasant, light read.
What I liked:
1) The alternative, dual povs. I liked hearing the thoughts of both the H and h.
2) The fact that the MCs didn't fall into bed right away. There was some development into the relationship and I liked that.
3) No ow/om drama. I can't stand that.
4) I do enjoy the "oops, we're married" NA cliche.
5) Other than the marriage secret, there was no deep, dark secret that haunted either the h or the H.
6) The epilogue was really sweet, although I would have liked to hear about their story more into the future.
What I didn't like:
1) Why does the H always have to be amazingly gorgeous? Ugh.
2) Why does the h have to always find the H so attractive she can't help herself around him?
3) The resolution of the blackmail drama made me mad. What the h did was really dumb.
4) The H talked about sex too much, but I guess that's part of his particular "charm".
5) There was too much sex in this book for me. And tied to that is the fact that it didn't seem there was that deep of a connection b/w the MCs other than sex. There is mention of a deeper connection, but not until the book is almost over.

I got this book for an Honest review and I found it extremely entertaining!
Alexa is a normal girl who just happens to decide that a summer fling is a great idea ! He is sexy, a fighter, super hot and makes her feel awesome, so no biggie...
But what if things went to far and now she is married to a stranger.
Even worse, he might not be that much of a stranger to her soon.
This story was fun, lots of sexy moments between them, chemistry was just perfect.
The whole tabu thing was not as we are used to with B.B. So if you are not that much into the stepbrother deal, but you still enjoy sexy guys and steamy sex scenes, this is the book for you!
Them running around trying to solve the mystery was fun and made this story such a fun read !

I had read a very similar story just before... hero and heroine got married spontaneously, but part ways only to meet up when their respective single parents are getting married.
Here they both thought it was a faux wedding in Thailand, a tourist-y thing. Things are more complicated as their parents were heads of rivaling companies and the hero's mother bought the one of the father and so the whole family is in the focus of the media anyway.
Hm... I did enjoy it... partly... but I never liked the ways of the hero, whose flirting methods seemed so redundant. The whole story was turning in constant circles but still I felt moderately entertained. Was ok for a freebie, but wouldn't recommend it.

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review. This story is about Cole and Alexa. I really liked this one sparks started as soon as they met which was in Thailand. This was pretty different normally in the books I've read regarding stepsiblings they always end up having sex the first night, but in this one they sure didn't. It took them awhile to finally do the deed, however they did do other intense things. ;D This was a quick read for me and I enjoyed everything. B.B. Hamel sure knows what she's doing she hasn't disappointed me yet.

Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance were well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors, and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!

Loved the book. What's a girl too do when on holidays in Thailand when she meets a hunk of a guy? Well for Alexa it is a fake wedding to the hunky Cole. When the holiday is over Cole disappears and Alexa discovers she really married. After searching for Cole with no luck, he show's up on a motorcycle outside of her home as her new stepbrother. Cole and Alexa have a lot to figure out.

Enjoyable, fairly quick read. Cole is very alpha. Alex is a likeable heroine. Some angst but not too much. Loads of hot scenes. It isn't creepy step brother stuff (step bro stories are not usually my bag), this was more they met then separate then their parents hook up ~ unbeknownst to them! Good Read.

4.5 kick ass, take names, while being so hot, sexy and cool might I add sooo funny. This was a read I did not expect to have a story but it actually had a good one.

When out of the blue her father says he married a woman. When she heads home to meet her new step mom and step brother, she gets a shocking wake up call that her step brother is actually Cole. How will she tell her father about Cole? Great read

Great story so much fun the dynamic between the characters were fantastic my only disappointment was I want to hear his POV in the epilogue not just hers. But other than that it was great totally recommend this book. #Sexy #Hilarious #Bookaholic

Really enjoyed reading this book. Some parts were pretty unbelievable, but I was looking for something that would be fun to read that wasn’t to serious and would take me away from life for a few hours.

This book is steamy and has a very good story also. I enjoyed it a lot. I will read more from this author. I do wish the book was longer and went into the future of Alexa and Cole. You should read this book,
