Okay…so this wasn’t as strong as the first volume. I’m still enjoying the overall concept but some parts of this weren’t as realistic as I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, I know that none of this is real; however, there was a scenario at the end that was so far out there. Honestly, it didn’t seem plausible for our main character to figure it out. There weren’t technically any indications that could have given him the correct answer and yet he somehow was able to pull it out of thin air. Don’t get me wrong. I think that this one definitely had a huge reveal but it lost that connection I felt in the first book. Hopefully, I’ll be able to enjoy the next volume because of the cliffhanger.
okay, the second volume was even better although I am VERY upset over a certain character’s demise and what the HELL over that little fuck’s sadistic personality???
I think I will continue reading because this is getting interesting ngl.
This volume went on a fast downward trajectory for me. The next game was kind of lame, and having it take up all this time in order to facilitate overly dramatic character reveals sucked.
This social game of death has just quickly gotten more shocking as time has now become their enemy and a surprise twist I didn't see coming as Ataru has been living something of a different life after the tragic death of his twin brother Yuma, and yet one more surprise before the last pages. A- (91%/Excellent)
I am LOVING this manga series!! And the twist in this one! woww Also I love how theirs a specific message in this abt social media and the bad and good which comes from it. Def recommend this series:))
- 1 fun twist, 2nd twist was more of a cliffhanger hook and not quite sure how that will pan out. - Excellent bad guy (outside of Marble). Truly obnoxious and 💩💩💩.
These bloody action manga get depressing if you think about them too deeply, but there is something to be said about how social media is deconstructed in this series.
:cough: ok sorry welcome to volume 2 of Real Account, or as I like to think of Gods help me is this ever happens I'm screwed.
We last left Ataru, Ruriri and Koyori having survived the latest game...tho apparently not quite as perfectly as they could have. OH WELL. The gamemaster gives the folks a break to get cleaned up & eat...but sadly in the Real World the company that owns Real Account is like "sux 2b u but 10 days until you die! sry!" bc they plan to just unplug the servers to stop this madness.
Sure. that sounds reasonable. Also I can totally see the Game Master letting that happen. :rolls eyes:
The Dark Histories game is...disturbing. As someone who, in my youth, was rather prone towards excitedly lambasting folk who pissed me off watching folk die from it was the worst.
Kind of. Gods above I hope Riji does horribly.
Meanwhile OMG ATARU WTF KIND OF MESSED UP FAMILY DO YOU COME FROM? Like. how the hell is Yuri the most normal? And dude seriously you have a sister complex. (why is this a thing in Japanese manga? like.. how did this start as a well used barely commented on trope?)
Oh but snap dead people rising guys...dead people rising.
People can be crazy, weird and cruel. It's honestly kinda scary, but I'm glad that Real Account could open my eyes to this, and to the good that does exist in the world.
Also, there is an emphasis in this volume to think before sending messages online because they are there forever.
I really like this one better than the previous volume. Dark History Game is my fav game so far, it's dark and gruesome and finally we really get to know the characters, their deep dark secrets and personalities, found crazy character that even though I hate him I think he will survive till the end but I think it'll be epic battle. There's still mystery of the missing body and what will happen when the company shut down all the servers. So I'm pretty excited to read the next volume.
I am going to keep with this series, even though the critique of social media sometimes feels off. It wants to make the way we use sites like Twitter more sensational than it actually is. Real Account imagines a world where someone would admit to a murder on Twitter. But this is tempered by a sincere look at how identities offline are also faked and fractured. Some revelations about the protagonist show that his real life identity is just as conflicted as his virtual one.

Hmmm having someone find out something about you that even you have a hard time accepting can be fatal. Our emotions loosen our grip on sanity and the truth ends up coming out. While sometimes it’s not what you know but who you know that protects your life.
The first volume was sooooo good. This one, not so much. The concept is still interesting and it ended with a cliffhanger that I'm curious about, but I'd rather find summaries somewhere than read more. A few too many mentions/suggestions of people taking their own lives (which I understand it in the context, but personally, I don't like that).
Comunque sia sempre molto simile ad As The Gods Will. Voto 3!
I was really shocked in the middle, you will see when you read it but it was so sad to see the person i loved beside Ataru. You will also discover something shocking that i never though it was going to be this early in the manga serious. 5 out of 5 stars. It was so good i finished it in one day.
That was a dramatic reveal ._. You thought that following/unfollowing thing in the first volume was bad, wait till you start seeing this death game where people can see the posts you've hidden or removed.
My man really hates character design huh? The main characters are: twins (and look the same) and two girls whose main personality trait is looking exactly the same
