Hunting In Shadows
This book picks up exactly where the first book left off... Lyssandra, Crown Princess of the Shadow Court, Queen of both the Seelie and Unseelie Court, left Vincent...abandoned him. Just walked into the shadows and left him to face a battle alone. Kieran, her elite bodyguard, held her tightly in his arms as he carried her through the halls. The Hunt was after her; an unstoppable pack of creatures led by the God of the Hunt, Cernunnos. It would continue to come after her until she bested the God at his own game or destroyed her husband, the Seelie King Maguis. So Kieran pulled her into the only plane that he knew would keep her safe: The Shadow Court. It was the place where she was born but has no memories. It was created by her father, Daron, Son of the Morrigan, after the other two courts had refused him entry into theirs. She also meets her older brother Quinton & younger sister Niamh. ..Her father tells her the truth of why he had to hide her. It's a tragic and heart breaking tale. (no, I'm not telling) There is still the matter of her adopted little brother being held by her sadistic husband and "The Hunt" to deal with. They are about to find out that this Princess has the heart of a warrior and an ace up her sleeve. She also has some pretty awesome allies.. Her brother Quinton, sister Niamh, Landon, the twice rescued Vincent ... Oh, and of course Samantha (Sam) who is an underground broker. No one knows who or what she is exactly. What is known? She is deadly and powerful.... The characters all have a story to tell as you watch them develop. there is plenty of intrique, secrets, magic and deciet to go around as Lyssandra comes comes face to face with Cernunnos, God of The Hunt.

With Maguis now ignoring the Unseelie Court and ignoring all requests to rebuilding the court leaves the Throne up for grabs. Lyssandra walks straight into the fae hill and takes it over. She claims the Throne for her little brother Kalen. ..Declare herself regent until Kalen comes of age and then insight the masses to start a war with Maguis. ....
Lyssandra, with her entourage of a Redcap, a werewolf, two Shadow Court Faes, and a witch walked into the hill and Cascata joined and pledged himself to her cause and saw them all safely to the Palace doors. She entered the throne room. It was filled with Nobles & the guards they claimed as there own. As Lyssandra made her way to the Throne, Adair, Fae of the Winter Court, Blocked her way, challenging her for the Throne. She made quite the example of him. Once she reached the Throne, she had something to say... and it blew them away! (no, I'm not telling) What I will tell you is that everyone there took a step back away from Lyssandra! The next day she recieves a note...Maguis is challenging her to trial by combat..... She answered by setting the time, place, and demanded that Kieran be returned.... This is an epic battle, on the edge of your seat kind of thing. King Maguis has something planned that could end Lyssandra. And there is no way for her to see it coming... but, oh yeah, Vincent gave Lyssandra a little something extra. I just hope it will be enough.....

Fae with a side of vampire please!
Hunting In Shadows
This second in the Shadow Court Chronicles finally moves the actual romance between Lyssandra and Vincent along. Having left Vincent behind at the mercy of The Hunt, Lyssandra finds herself in the Shadow Court meeting a father she has never known. Daddie dearest isn’t all that Lys could hope for and neither are the rules of his Shadow Court. Being an all out rebel pretty much sums up Lys when it comes to following rules.

With the royal powers of blood at her disposal Lys is ready to kick butt and ask names. It helps when you have some fairly powerful siblings, a goddess, a vampire lover and friends in both low and high places. Before things are done though she’ll have to conquer the unseelie court and put her husband out of her misery.
This serial series has plenty of action and adventure. I really enjoyed it. The problem… it ended. While Lys and Vincent are set for their HEA and the immediate conflict is resolved the story leaves you with a tease of more to come. Unfortunately, I don’t see where anything has been planned to further the series storyline. I have to say, I would definitely be interested in seeing more of this world and the implied fight to come whether it be in an extension of Lys and Vincent’s lives or that of the secondary characters.
