Taylor Berry is the quintessential city girl who can read through someone’s B.S. without batting an eyelash. Her no nonsense attitude is one her great friends and awesome boyfriend love. When he asks her to go with him to his parents’ house for the weekend, she’s not sure what to expect, but hey, it’s a few days and nights with the man she loves. What could go wrong with that? Bryson Reed is a country boy who always looks forward to going back home to Texas for his family’s big annual reunion. A weekend of cookouts, fishing, and swimming. What could be better? In fact, this year he’s taking his girlfriend, Taylor, to introduce her to his family and join in on the fun. But the perfect weekend he’d envision starts to fall apart right after they arrive. When his mom puts Taylor in the guestroom … not in his old bedroom with him. Taylor is shocked at the sleeping arrangements, but gets furious when Bryson doesn’t insist on them sleeping together. He thinks his mom is old fashioned and doesn’t see the problem while Taylor wonders where the line is between gentleman and momma’s boy. Even though Taylor is mad at Bryson for how he handles the situation, she thinks his mom is up to something, and as the weekend progresses, she knows she’s right. This weekend of sweet tea and feigned southern hospitality cannot end fast enough. But when the truth comes out and secrets revealed, something else might come to an end as well.
Mandy Harbin is a USA Today Best‐selling author who loves creating stories that explore the complexities of everyday relationships...with some kissing thrown in. She also writes young adult romance as M.W. Muse because teens like kissing, too.
Again it's series of books about this group of friends and their men is funny and a quick read.
I think this May have been my favorite out of the series being that I am a Southern girl and laughed a lot at the things that happened during this story.
We meet Taylor, no nonsense and knows what she wants kinda gal is going to spend the weekend with her boyfriends family for the weekend. But looks can be deceiving. As the weekend begins with being banished to her own room, Taylor starts to feel insecure about herself. And that feeling only gets worse as the weekend continues.
Bryson was a great guy and maybe too perfect of a gentleman that is comes back to bite him in the butt. But being a gentleman was one of the things that Taylor feel in love with him for. As the perfect weekend he had planned turns into a disaster, he will do whatever is necessary to show Taylor she is his world. Can Taylor let go of what she heard and get over the hurt that she feels?
What a cute read!!! I love this series! Mandy Harbin can right a romance that can pull you in, give you a ride on the emotional roller-coaster, make you laugh and cry and all in less than 60 pages!!! Not many are talented enough to put so much in so little. I related to this one a lot more than I did the other two. I really liked Bryson and he reminds me so much of my husband. I have felt so many of those emotions while going through the early stages of my romance. I was so connected to this book. It is just as amazing as the others but this one is my favorite because I connect to the characters so well. I am wowed by this series and this book. A perfect way to spend your afternoon or lunch break. And the all have an HEA! That is amazing for such a short read!!! I think all romance lovers could fall in love with the Blue Balls Series! ~Lisa
Blue Balls and Southern Drawls is part of the Blue Ball series. This story follows Taylor and Bryson. When the couple visit Bryson's family nothing goes as expected. Can the couple work things out or is this the end?
I have to admit I really like the series and was excited to read this book. I was instantly drawn to Taylor. She was very much like the people I know. I could also relate to Bryson. Poor man kept digging himself into holes. I liked how the writer wrapped the story up. My only complaint is the length. I'd have liked it more if there was more to the story. I would however recommend this to a friend. It's a great quick read.
This is the sweet story of Taylor and Bryson and the weekend trip they take to visit his family, her first time meeting his family. I love the antagonist in this story; it is a refreshing change from the same old same old. This book is not as steamy as the first two in this series, but good in its own right. I will definitely be looking for the other books in this series to see what the rest of the gang is up to. I give this book 4 stars.
I received this for an honest review. I have to say that this was a fun read. This is part of the Blue Balls series (which I was lucky enough to read all of them) This is Taylor and Brysons story. The two of them go to Brysons family's home for a visit and of course when visiting family nothing goes like it should. This is a fun quick read. My only wish is it were a bit longer. I really enjoyed thier story Taylor is a great character..This is definitely a series to be recommended
