Nothing exciting ever happens in a small town... Especially in the sleepy Florida beachside stretch known as Hammond Beach, nestled between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. Free from corporate businesses and a slew of tourists descending upon the quaint former fishing village, Hammond Beach is like a painting. Locals run the businesses on Main Street. Even when a new coffee shop opens, the owner hires only Hammond Beach locals, including manager Betty. She's born and raised in Hammond Beach and knows everyone. But when the latest and greatest coffee is put out, Green River Blend, strange things begin to happen to the residents of Hammond Beach...

It's like Needful Things, but with coffee instead of things, and with the FBI instead of shadow puppets. There is an aspiring author character with the last name King, and I think it's an intentional light jab at Uncle Steve.
A mysterious cafe owner sets up shop in a small town, and soon everyone is hooked on the titular Green River coffee blend, which seems to have certain effects on its drinkers, and I'm not talking about diuresis. If you like reading lurid gossip and people acting out their baser instincts (and who doesn't?), it's a fun story. The setup was a little awkward; I don't know why this James fellow didn't creep everyone right the fuck out, with his insistence on sitting behind a one-way mirror and having his employee tell him about the customers' personal lives through a headset. I thought the story progressed to chaos awfully quickly when a slower burn would have been delicious, and in the second half the story takes a left turn that made it less enticing. The cliffhanger ending, unexpected, left me unsatisfied.
But, I was impressed with the smooth prose, as easy to roll along with as your favorite horror/thriller author's, and that alone convinced me that this writer knows his stuff. I don't plan to read this book's sequels, but I immediately moved on to his Lovecraft mythos collection, Keyport Cthulhu.

A page turner
This was a good read. It kept you turning the pages as the story opened up.
The characters were all very distinctive and memorable and boy was I rooting for a couple of them near the end.
I will definitely be checking out book 2 in the near future!

I really wanted to like it because I enjoy Armand’s other books I’ve read. This time I found myself too often thinking, “wtf is going on?” It is interesting and I wanted to know how it would conclude but (no spoilers) was unfortunately not satisfied there. Looking forward to getting back to his Dirty Deeds series and checking out the new monster books!

Green River Blend coffee- so good it just might be deadly. The people of Hammond Beach can't get enough of the new coffee in town. So much so that there becomes a 4 cup limit per visit and the line wraps around the corner.
People drinking this highly addictive coffee started having dark and devious thought. The impulse to act on them becomes too much and the town erupts into chaos. Will there be time to stop everyone and save the town or is Hammond Beach doomed?
This book is very reminiscent of Stephen King. I loved the darkness of it and the quick paced scenes. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!

A fun, totally engrossing read. Bought this off of Armand Rosamilia himself at STC earlier this summer after never having read anything of his. Started it up yesterday and just finished it. Quite an excellent little read, a fun little jaunt of murder, mayhem, and debauchery in a small southern town. I'm gonna have to continue on with this series. Definitely recommended!

A fun, fast read! Armand does a fantastic job of keeping the reader engaged as well as moving the story along. Just like in the story, you must have more! Check this one out, I really enjoyed it.

Green River Blend By Armand Rosamilia Will Make your head spin.
As an avid coffee drinker, this story was horrifying and quite possible if a diabolical deviant decides to "Creat his /her own blend of coffee."Lucky for me, I make my coffee at home.
The story takes place is a small town of Hammond Beach in Florida.A strange mysterious man James Fortson comes to town and decides to open up a fancy coffee shop by the name of "Coffee Stop".They carried all types of coffee at first. While James sat behind a large two-way mirror in his office his very capable manager Betty Coburn worked the front and wore a headset that allowed James and her to communicate.He had asked Betty to relay to the other employees to push the store brand of coffee.Mary Walters was one of Bettys favorite employees she was a sweet girl and the daughter of the local Police Chief Buck, who never liked coffee.Mary was able to get the customers to try the house blend even if they were reluctant to do so.
Well it wasn't long before just about everyone who bought coffee at the Coffee Stop, was drinking the house blend, people would make several trips a day to buy more coffee, sometimes a few cups at a time. You see the line to buy coffee at the Coffee Stop was very long and could at times be around the block or even further.There were a few tables to sit at inside the small shop. They were always full.
So Mary and a few noncoffee drinkers began to notice, there was no longer the friendly chatter with those waiting in line for their chance to order coffee.In fact the lines movement seemed almost robotic, in the nonthinking mindless sort of way.There seemed to be a phenomenon taking place with the town folk, they were losing their inhibition they were acting on their deepest desires.Kenny who dreamed of being a writer blew off his responsibilities at the shoe store to write before long he had lost his job. Jean Garvin was gambling there are many more examples. Before long they had to limit how many people they would allow in the shop at one time due to a violent outburst. It was at this point James had told Betty they were going to lock and close the doors to the shop for a few day, he wanted Betty to post signs so everyone know well in advance.

This was a wickedly delightful story told by a Master.I love Small Town America and love to read of the locals and their quirkiness.Armand is a master at not only telling a story but painting a realistic view of both the characters and location. He makes you ponder the plausibility of something like this really happening near where you live.That is part of the fun in reading a Supernatural thriller.Armand Rosamilia did a wonderful job of bring this story to life.

Been awhile since I gave something 5 stars!
I so loved this book! It was like King's Needful Things but so much better!
I enjoyed "meeting" new townspeople and figuring out how the Green River blend would affect them. It was just such a fun read and I am definitely going to buy the sequel.

I really enjoy horror novels where something is making the town go crazy. Like King's Needful Things. This one has a great steady incline of suspense that just gets more suffocating until all hell breaks loose!

I picked up this book because I love coffee, even though I can't drink any of it any more. It's so much more than just about coffee. Small town Hammond Beach in Florida reminds me of Bradley Beach in NJ. We meet the sheriff and the guy who runs the gas station. We meet the little old ladies who like to gossip about the other townspeople. Then we meet James, Betty and Mary. James comes to town and opens a new coffee shop. He hires Betty to run the place for him and Betty hires Mary, the police chief's daughter, to work there. James tells his work force that he serves several blends of coffee, but he expects that the Green River blend will soon be the top seller. We watch as the lines outside the coffee shop get longer and longer. We see the locals buying more and more of the Green River blend. And then we start to see the unusual behavior. I can't say I enjoyed the book, but it was different from anything I've ever read. You will probably like it.

I have never been happier to not be able to to stomach the taste of coffee because in this book, the signature blend of the new coffee shop in town, has the ability to not just awaken the senses, but something that lies hidden deep within the subconscious. Not knowing what is being done to them, other that they now possess a thirst for this coffee that drives them to commit heinous acts, awakens hidden psychic gifts in some, and madness in others just for starters. A totally twisted tale of addiction and that which fuels it, in this case, coffee.

Along with Jean and David who want the formula to Green River Blend as well.

What's not to love about a book that combines coffee, sinister plots of murder and mayhem, and the small-town feel we all secretly crave? I knew I'd love it from the start, and Mister Rosamilia kept his promises. It was an all-around fun read, and a quick one at that. Grab it for the Kindle and give it a read. You might think twice about visiting Starbuck's, especially with the current Pumpkin Spice craze.

From the time I started reading I couldn't put the book down. The author paints his characters with the strokes of a true artist . He takes you step by step through his masterful plot, drawing you in toward the final twists of this books ending. I can't wait to start his sequel.

I really enjoyed this book, it caught my attention right from the very first page. The reason for the low rating is that this book does not end. I did read past reviews before I purchased this book in February and there was no indication it was to be continued. Very disappointing

WOW! I'm so happy I don't drink coffee. That being said, if you love a fast paced horror story with great characters, you really should pick up this first book in the series. I'm sure you will then buy the following books. I loved this book, well done Armand Rosamilia.

Starts out pretty normal, sleepy town with a ciffe shop where everyone gathers. Turns out there's something in the coffee that brings out the worst attributes in those that drink it, and the plot goes off the rails.

Well this book took a dark turn. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It can be read as a standalone but really sets up for the next book in the series. I like my thrillers a little more on the cozy side but this one had so much over-the-top campiness that I couldn't put it down.

Interesting premise, but really violent. I mostly enjoyed the story, but I likely won't read the next one. If you like the edgier stuff, you'll probably like this.

This was ridiculously fun. Tons of bloody violence, good characters, good dialogue. I liked it so much I already downloaded book 2 in the series.
