What’s a handsome Colombian psychic with super-hero-power to do with a spirited Navajo beauty who invades his territory? Why, kidnap her of course.

Chopper pilot Josie Tseda served in Afghanistan, extracting soldiers from deadly situations. She knows how to take care of herself. But when she vows to find Gabriel Valdez, a Guardian of Danu, and deliver him to a gathering of the Council of Guardians, she may have bitten off more than she can chew.

Locating Gabriel in the mountains of Colombia is hard enough. Josie didn’t count on ending up his prisoner – or on falling for him.

Gabriel is battling Colombian drug traffickers and seeking revenge against the man who murdered his mother. He’s not looking for romance and doesn’t trust the feisty American female who wants to fly him off to the U.S. The message she conveys directing him to return with her, supposedly coming from the High Guardian, may be a lie to ensnare him and steal the precious scroll he guards.

Yet, he can’t help wanting her. Will he allow her to capture his heart or will the secret power he wields ultimately drive her away?

She was sent to find and deliver him to the Council of Guardians. A seasoned chopper pilot, a veteran of Afghanistan and equipped to survive, Josie Tseda is a woman on a mission. Little did she know she was about to be the hunter captured by the game.

Gabriel Valdez is like a ghost, hiding out in the mountains of Colombia, a rebel, a legend and a man who would rather deny his psychic abilities than answer the summons of the Council. He is the Guardian of Danu, the protector of an ancient scroll and his presence is vital. Gabriel has dedicated his life to taking down drug traffickers while avenging his mother’s murder.

Taking Josie captive, taking her out of her element seemed like a good idea to protect his people, his secret and his personal battle. But just as he is not the monster Josie thought he would be, she is not the evil deceiver Gabriel imagined. Who would think their “meeting” would end up in a tentative romance that is budding through all of the danger that surrounds them? Like two magnets, they are drawn to each other, but like two donkeys, they stubbornly fight their hearts. Can they learn to trust each other enough to complete Josie’s mission or will they find that the rest of the world fades away when they are together. Lives hang in the balance…

Capturing Gabriel by Lyn Horner is part romance, part action, part paranormal and 100% entertainment as she creates a hard scrabble world and brings two souls together at a most inconvenient time! You will chuckle at poor Josie as she is forced to adapt to a totally foreign environment with all the grace of a bull in a china shop and no back up to help her out! Gabriel has his moments, too, when his reputation is revealed as a front for the man he truly is. With his quirky and unique band of “outlaws,” once more, Lyn Horner gives us a chance to smile, knowing that, the only ones fighting their attraction are the mouthy and headstrong Josie and the quietly alpha Gabriel! Definitely not heavy or dark reading, this has heat, tension and an great author behind a wonderful plot!

I received an ARC edition from Lyn Horner in exchange for my honest review.

It was more like a novella, with action, adventure, danger, magical(?shamanistic?) powers and sexy times. Josie is Navajo, a veteran army helicopter pilot, and affiliated with some ancient powerful magical guardians stuff. I didn't really understand what that was about, and it was not really addressed very much in this book, although that might be what I deserve for starting a series with the third book...

Josie is on a mission to grab gorgeous, mysterious Gabriel, and danger ensues. Gabriel is a bit too alpha, Josie is a bit too in need of rescue, and some lines threw me, like 'with a femininely square jaw.'

For a quick read, it was fun and light, even with all the danger-danger.

Capturing Gabriel by Lyn Horner

Josie Tseda is totally out of her element on this mission to collect Gabriel Valdez from the midst of the Colombian mountains. Gabriel is busy fighting his own war in hostile territory and has no reason to believe Josie’s far-fetched tale of murder and intrigue. The action and tension start early in this story. Josie must learn to change her tactics and go along with Gabriel for her own safety; in the process she is able to learn more about the man who holds her captive. As her trust grows, Gabriel lets his guard down a little at a time.

As their mutual respect increases so does the passion neither one of them can deny. Showing that vulnerability, though, is another story for both of them. They are both warriors, so getting them to fight for a kindred cause at the same time is the biggest problem. Being a guardian of an ancient scroll complicates Gabriel’s quest to avenge his mother’s death against the local drug cartel. He is an honorable man and believes in both causes.

This book has it all; adventure, violence, sexual tension, magic, and a heart-rending family history to hold it all together. I think Gabriel is my favorite character so far, and it makes my heart ache for him at the same time for the burden he has to carry. What more could a reader ask for?

FYI: Capturing Gabriel is book three in Lyn Horner’s Romancing the Guardians series, following Rescuing Lara and Decoding Michaela. I would recommend reading this series in order. This book does contain sexual situations that may offend some. **Originally written for "BigAl’s Books and Pals" book blog. May have received a free review copy.** September 2, 2016

Josie a Navajo post-Army helicopter pilot goes to Columbia to find Gabriel, one of the Guardians. When she comes face to face with him he does not believe that she is there to bring him back to the States for a meeting of the Guardians. He is busy trying to take down the drug traffickers and does not have time to go with her nor does he believe she was really sent by the Guardians. In the time they are together they have to learn to trust each other. There are some sparks there between them too. How does this develop? Read and you will see.

A definite buy book.

A book that has many elements that made it a good read. From action and adventure to magic and passion. I found this book to be a good read. I love the characters and the plots. I enjoyed the way the story unfolded. If I could ask for anything more, it would of been a longer book! The authors writing is creative as well as engaging. So buy the book and enjoy. For a novella length story, CAPTURING GABRIEL is jam-packed with action, danger, magic and an innate sensuality the captures the reader from the outset.

I really liked Gabriel and Josie, and even though I found some references a little confusing (a femininely square jaw) this was a fast-paced fun read that would ensure I’m looking for the next in the series.

The book is my one of the 1st sci/fiction read and it did the justice as far as plotvwss concerned. I really liked the way hero and heroine worked out their trust issues, their overwhelming attraction, and developed their love for each other. There are chapters/ lines where their relationship seems absolutely believable and may make you smile. Love scenes are so hot. I read the book within few hours in flight and I had no desire to sleep.
Will defintely recommend the book to book lovers.
Book has been given to me in advance by netgalley in return of a honest review.
