CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE DaVinci Jones, former Navy SEALs commander and current rock star, travels to the last gig of his tour across America before returning home to visit with his cancer-stricken father. He feels a sadness from the impending death, but also from the memory of a woman he met back in the military who took his heart and ran away with it. While on the train, he happens upon the woman, a one Janie Bloom. After five years, she’s changed drastically – her hair now shines a normal, non-purple color, and she carries herself like a more confident adult. As soon as he sees her, all the feelings he once had flow back through him, making him long to be near her. He remembers the taste of her skin, the way she felt when they made love, and the smell of her rose-scented hair. It drives him crazy to have her so close, but yet so far.
