All Tyler Mercer wanted was to make music—until he met Avery Jenson. The beautiful new girl in town turned his head and struck a chord in his heart. But when their one night of passion results in devastating tragedy, Tyler hits the road, leaving behind his dead-end hometown and the girl he knows he’ll never forget.
After her father was caught embezzling, Avery’s comfortable life in the city was blown to bits. But meeting Tyler helped to pick up the pieces and eased her into country living. She just never expected the handsome musician would add to her heartbreak by walking away without a backward glance.
Now, three years later, rock star Tyler’s come back, hat in hand. He’s found fame and fortune as a member of Wicked White, but it’s all worth nothing without Avery’s love. Can she forgive him for leaving when she needed him most? Or will the ghost of their past keep them apart?

New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Michelle A. Valentine is a Central Ohio nurse turned author of erotic romance and New Adult novels. Her love of hard-rock music, tattoos and sexy musicians inspired her BLACK FALCON series.
Wicked Love is the third book in Michelle’s Wicked White series. I was more than excited to make time to listen to the audio of this book. I’ve enjoyed this series lots and I always love Michelle’s writing and characters. This book focuses on Tyler Mercer, drummer for Wicked White.
Tyler and Avery meet when Avery is in college. Avery is feisty and likable. Tyler is pretty great from the start. Both of them have things going on in their lives that make a relationship not the best or easiest thing for them, but they still give it a go. I loved them together. They are both in a small town and their love is new and sweet. Something tragic happens that sends Tyler running away from Avery and then we fast forward three years.
You heard that right. Three Years. Tyler is now a successful musician and Avery is still in that small town… Something happened towards that end of this that is a big button pusher for me I also was a little bummed that our fabulously feisty Avery let Tyler off the hook so easy. I wanted him to work for it a bit more, but that’s just me.
Overall, I did enjoy this story, even if there were a few things that didn’t quite work for me personally. I’m looking forward to the next Wicked White book! ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I love this cover and that was the main reason I chose to give the book a try. Only after I started reading the story more, I thought I'd be great to check out the author and to my surprise, it was none other than the fantastic Michelle A. Valentine. I love her Black Falcon Series and that's why I knew that Wicked Love would make for an amazing read, as well. And I wasn't wrong. For such a short read, it's really sweet but also sad and heartfelt. It's definitely a story about personal growth and about what all you have to go through to become someone better.
This story is basically about a new start in life. A city girl becomes a small town girl, a man who had it all, lost it all and a boy who dreamed big, turned big. But everything may not be as it seems. Someone who lost all might have just found his biggest treasure and someone who won might have lost something precious, sometihng he will never get back.
So, Avery...I admit that at the beginning I wasn't a huge fan of her character, since she came off as this rich spoiled brat that needed to grow up fast but at the end I came to really like her. She goes through a lot but in the end I felt like that made her stronger and wiser. She knew when to forgive and to see the bigger picture, not just for herself but also for the people she loved.
And as for Tyler, man, he sure made a mess. He started off as this sweet, carring boyfriend material and I really liked him. But then he goes and does something so stupid, I just can't even... I get his reasoning and why he was feeling the way he did, specially since we get his POV but that move near the end, nah. That put him straight into the asshole box for me. Sorry (but not really)... Luckily he sees the mistake he made and tries to fix it but for me it was just a little too late.
The big plus of this story are definitely the secondary characters. I loved them, especially Avery's gnadma and the little bundle of joy. She was sooo adorable , I just couldn't get enough of her. I hope some of the characters get their own stories, I would absolutelly read them!
All in all, Wicked Love wasn't a bad read but it wasn't one of my favourites that's for sure. If you like this series or if just simply like the blurb, then go for it. Maybe you'll really enjoy it. :)

Juvenile writing, immature and flat characters, same old lame tropes. The hero's POV was too girly and the dialogue was silly.
*spoilers*
Boy meets girl, insta-love, boy dumps girl after a tragedy because 'he's no good for her.' Abandons her on the worst day of her life...and oh yeah, surprise! Of course she's pregnant because they were too stupid for birth control! So he leaves her to languish in Nowheresville while he plays rock and roll manwhore for 3 years. Meanwhile she struggles alone to raise his kid and remains celibate. Great guy. 24 hours after he resurfaces all is forgiven and they're knocking boots. She took that selfish loser back instantly and he didn't even have to grovel! Oh and of course he's a 'goner' for his kid like, a day after meeting her. Puhleez. Lame and cheesy rubbish, this. If I could give it no stars I would. This writer needs a new hobby. Save your money

I m enjoying this series so much
Avery live is goin a lil crazy at the min she dealing with her boyfriend cheating she as been thrown out of her Kappa an her an he dad lost his job an her mum left life is just just great NOT but when she sees a gorgeous guy called Tyler with sexy tattoos an hot body things mite just get a lil better after al but after dealing with a cheating boyfriend an her mum leaving trust is not on the top of her list with people at the minute but he is by far the sexist guy she as ever scene an he is really nice to her as well but with life throwing so much crap her way an then moving to live with her granny she would never see him again until her dad goes to a lumber shop to start building her a new room an this where she meets Tyler again an starts to thing that maybe the crappy lil town she lives in isn't so crappy after al
Tyler as been thrown his own amount of crap as well but he just rolls with he will be moving out of his hometown to start his music career it was his promise to his dad before he died an he doesn't want to break that promise until Avery comes into his life an he really doesn't want to break that promise but with Avery giving him hot looks an her sexy body getting close to him it's not easy an after them getting close to each other an talkin about what life as done to them it's even harder to stay away from her
This book was good I enjoyed it I did fine the ending a lil rushed I think it I wanted more from the present than the past even though seeing them get together was great I think I wanted Avery to give Tyler a bit more crap for the what he did to her she let him of way to easy I know she did stuff to but I think he was worst I did find the story a lil predictable as well I knew what was goin to happen but it didn't wreck the story I was just dyin to know more
I 've enjoyed this series loads but I found this book my least favourite it's not cause of the characters cause I really did like them I thought Tyler is super sexy with his rock star looks an tattoos so hot I just wanted more from the story but like I said I did enjoy it xxx
Tender and touching, Wicked Love is a roller coaster of a rock star romance sprinkled with heat and filled with heart. It’s a passionate and poignant tale of heartbreak, healing, and happiness fused with fate and feels with highs and lows. A story that heats your heart and sings to your soul. Wicked Love is wicked good.
Rock star romances, along with MMA, are my favorite stories to read so I could not help but devour Wicked Love as I did the other wickedly wonderful books in this series. The fantasy of a rocker belting songs to me makes my heart pound and my body heat. Singing is sweet and sexy, and rockers are intense and hot. Everything is done with passion. Everything.
Wicked Love is refreshing, raw, and real. The intensity and passion permeates throughout this tale and I could not help but experience every emotion while on my Wicked Love date. A story that flutters with feels. Smiling. Sweating. Swooning. A LOT.
This is not the typical rocker story where the man whore rock star meets the woman who changes him. No, Wicked Love’s hero is all grown up and ready for the real, and the heroine is perfectly imperfect.
Beautiful brunette and blue-eyed Avery Jenson is done dating losers and users who bring nothing but trouble to her already stressful life.
“This is the last time I’ll allow myself to be hurt like this. I’m sick of men treating me like something they can use, then toss away.”
Her rich life and reputation are ruined from her father’s embezzling at his company and she wants nothing more than to escape from the shambles of her former perfect life.
Perhaps luck or maybe fate made her path cross with gorgeous rocker, Tyler Mercer, one disastrous night. Every woman’s fantasy man.
Plus rocker. Plus guitar. Plus fabulous fingers.
“Watching his fingers move with ease causes a wicked thought to pop into my head. Bet he’s pretty good with those fingers in other areas too.”
Blond, blue-eyed, tall, muscular, and inked, Tyler looks like a walking wet dream though there is sweetness in his core. Hard but soft. Tough but sweet.
“This guy is absolutely gorgeous in that badass, I’ll break-your-heart-after-I’ve-melted-your-panties kind of way, but there’s something lingering in his eyes that makes him seem like he could be sweet even though his outward appearance screams trouble.”
Like Avery, Tyler yearns to escape from a painful past that haunts him every day.
Tyler rescues Avery after her friends abandoned her, and later collides into her near his home, rescuing her a second time in the small town when Avery and her father are forced to move in with her grandma.
For Tyler, the girl he has only met once and who he rescued haunts his head, heart, and dreams. Avery is the one who may be worth remembering, the one who could be more.
“I usually don’t have to work this hard to get girls. This one is going to take a lot of effort, but I’m willing to put in the work.”
Avery is hopeful that for the first time, she has found a guy who truly cares for her. She is transfixed by this man who is her real-life rocker version of prince charming. Tyler is invading her, striking her soul like a melody.
“I look at him. I mean, really look at him, while he sings. He’s so damn attractive. It’s almost like I’m seeing him for the first time.”
I’m swooning in sweetness and I don’t want to stop.
The chemistry between them heats like a slow burn. The build-up is intense. The fire is burning so hot that it’s about to ignite.
“I don’t know if she realizes what she’s done, but she’s awakened a sexual beast who wants nothing more than to find his way into that sweet pussy of hers.”
Tyler and Avery don’t have sex; they make love. It’s hot and heavenly. Scorching yet sizzling with sweetness.
“Tell me, baby, that you belong to me.”
Swoon. Scorch. Repeat.
Though their one night of passion leads to peril, causing Tyler to leave town the girl of his dreams for good.
“I’m leaving, Avery. I’m the last thing you need…I was careless. I’ve hurt people.”
The tragedy changes their lives forever. With Tyler gone, Avery is left in the aftermath, picking up the pieces of rubble.
“Tears flow and there’s no use trying to stop them because I know from this moment on, nothing in my life will ever be the same.”
Fast forward three years later, Tyler, now a world famous rock star for Wicked White, returns to his hometown and Avery, hoping he can dust off the ashes and repair the pieces of her broken heart.
“We are strangers to one another. He’s no longer the nice country boy that I met a few years ago. He’s Tyler White of Wicked White—one of the hottest rock bands in the country.”
Avery has moved on and has built a new life for herself. Tyler hopes she has room left in her heart for him.
Wicked Love is wicked special. A passionate and poignant rock star romance that is wrapped in sugar. There is nothing as sweet as a friends-to-lovers story that calls to your heart, beckoning it, and flooding it with hope and happiness. Wicked Love is a must-read love story that heats the heart and sings to the soul.
I honestly thought this was going to be a good one. It started strong and I liked the initial set up...but then it all seemed to fall apart. I wasn't impressed with the hero. Very little character development and everything seemed very...on the surface. The hero was arrogant, selfish with little to no thought or care to how his decisions in life affected other people. As for the heroine, she was incredibly superficial and lacked a spine! He leaves without a word, at a critical moment in her life, and walks back in three years later and she's all like "hey it's all fine. I luuuuuurve you!!"
I don't think so.
While the story itself was much better than the previous book, the writing was weak and I felt disconnected from it all. I think true fans of MAV will appreciate this book, but it was a miss for me.
This was the third and final book in the trilogy. It was nice to see the drummer's story. The only thing that bugged me was how long it took to get to the present time. Most of the book (about 70%) was spent in the past. They both had been through a lot. So I was glad that they got their HEA.
I am sorry but I did not enjoy this. SPOILER ALERT...
Instead of developing the plot to create depth and emotion, it was riddled with cliches. The characters were all one-dimensional. Things moved at warp speed. I just abhor insta-love but do you know what I hate more than that? Lack of grovelling. This one had it both. I just couldn't buy the ending.
Avery was a hard character to accept. She was too immature. Too self-conscious. Too materialistic. Years later, she seemed to have matured. But then it turns out, we just had another "too" character coming at us: Too easy. She had no backbone whatsoever. It's one thing to forgive Tyler to accept the past and move on. But it's another thing to rekindle any relationship with the guy who left you when your life was f*cked up. No questions asked. Forgiven is granted even before he opened his mouth.
As for Tyler: I have no words. There is nothing in this world that will redeem him - EVER. The guy just gets everything he wants in the blink of an eye. Avery: check. Stardom: check. Avery again and more: it wasn't even a struggle. The dictionary should have his picture beside the word SELFISH.
This is the last book of this series. And I think it was kind of the weakest of the series. All things were kind of fluffy at the beginning. Then Avery (FML) has to move because her father stole some money or was accused to doing this. They lost everything and moved in with her grandmother in a rural town.
Avery meets a guy, whom she already met at her former college. He doesn't want a relationship, since he wants to get out of this town and become a musician. They decide to kinda date. Another tragedy and the guy moves away, just like he told her from the beginning.
Three years later they meet again. They do get a HEA....
The thing is that there happen a lot of thing that are too cliché for me. It was a good and quick read, but I enjoyed the other two books more.
Michelle A. Valentine did her magic again and wrote another sexy musician who went straight to my Top Music BBFs.Tyler Mercer simply gave his all and became one of the best.
Wicked Love is the first installment in the Wicked White series and it’s the story of Tyler Mercer, one of the 4 members of the Wicked White.
His story with Avery starts in college; about 3 years ago before Tyler joined the Wicked White. Everything started when Tyler gets to give Avery a ride home after she almost smashed her ex’s luxurious car. But that wasn’t their only confrontation. They meet again in her soronity house where he plays for a party. Although, due a very bad scene that happened to her, they lose sight of each other for a long time. But, Tyler can’t get her out of his mind. She is dominates his every thought. Until, one day, they find each other again in the town she has moved in.
Fate you see. Although they are soulmates and they are destined to be together, she knew that their relationship wanted the calm and amazing environment of the town they live now so it can bloom and build the strong foundations it needed. Each day they get to spend together, their love grows more and more. Unfortunately, there is a time in every one’s life where is tragedy is designed to happen. Which, in this case, destroyed something but, at the same time, offered to both of them an immortal and magnificent gift to cherish and adore forever.
“I’m such a goner when it comes to that girl.”
Everything about this story is overwhelming, tags at your heart strings and simply amazing. I was continuously flowing on air because I was feeling so great while I was reading it. Tyler and Ave’s love was so strong and deep that was taking me along for the ride. And WHAT. A. RIDE!! Full of music, love, heartbreak and….. something super bonus that stole my heart completely. Whoever has gotten around to read it, you know very well where I’m referring to. And Tyler’s reaction and his way of action after it, is just the greatest and the most swooning. I couldn’t get enough of it! Each and every emotion that was included made me feel lighter and extremely glad that I got the chance to meet this couple because it taught me a lot.
Valentine’s writing has an incredible power to sweep you away and makes you live whatever she writes. Time and time again, I have thoroughly enjoyed her skills and her stories are really special and some you hardly forget. What can I say! She’s a great author and one of my favorites. Can’t wait to see what else she has up in her sleeve.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
In this book we meet Tyler Mercer and Avery Jenson. Avery is a girl who's father did a very bad thing and it is coming back to hurt his daughter. When it is found out that Avery's father embezzled from the company he worked for nobody cares that Avery didn't know what was happening she is shunned at her college. When she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her with one of her sorority sisters she is determined to do something about it. However at the last minute she just can't seem to and her supposed friends ditch her. Luck for her a good looking Samaritan comes by and helps her out. She doesn't know what to make of Tyler but when her life makes a drastic chance she thinks that first encounter is all she will get.
Tyler meets the most beautiful girl ever and without getting anyway to see her again she is gone. Tyler can't seem to get her off his mind but he thinks he had his one shot and blew it, little did he expect to find her at his job in a small town. Tyler has dreams that he won't give up and promises to his late father he is determined to fulfill. He just didn't plan on Avery and what she could do to all those best laid plans and promises. He is however determined to have as much fun with her until it all falls apart.
This is different than the other two books in this series. For one Tyler isn't looking to be a rocker he wants to be a country singer. Two Tyler knows what he wants and is willing to make sacrifices to get there. This book has its ups and downs that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. This is another amazing hit in this series. This one is a little mellower but still packs a punch. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
The Pros: I like this book was able to bring a new light to the the rest of the Wicked White band, dual point of views, and the loyalty between father and daughter.
The Cons: I really wanted to like this book but sadly I just couldn't. The writing felt weak as a whole. The biggest issues was the lack depth in the main characters. Let's start with heroine; Avery characters comes off superficial, lack backbone and any internal angst she had to endure fail to make an appearance. There was not enough development while a great portion of the book was pre-stardom for the Hero; post stardom Avery became weaker as a character. Fortunately, the bones are there and possibly could have been a book filled with angst, drama, and sexual tension but the writing just fell very flat and lack the emotion to pull it off. The author spent her time telling the story but as a reader, I felt nothing. Not a single tear was shed even when tragic events occur. As for the hero, Tyler, he started off strong but fell apart completely post coital and tragedy struck. Tyler portions of the POV felt very short and sparse. The story line as a whole felt entirely rushed and lacked pacing. It also became quite predictable, nothing new stood out to become a unique in its own right.
Final thoughts: Unfortunately this book really needs a developmental editor to help the characters to become less one dimensional and create depth in the character's personalities. The storyline was good but it needed more conflict, emotion, and intensity to make it shine. (2 Stars) The cover looks great (4 Stars), grammar was good, but development lacked (2 stars). Overall score: 2.5 Stars

Avery’s life seems to go downhill ever since she discovered her boyfriend cheating on her with her sorority’s leader. She meets Tyler by accident just as she is about to smash her ex-boyfriend’s car lights and he rides her home. Turns out, her father was caught stealing money and now they have nowhere to go, so she drops out of college and goes to live with her grandmother in a very dead town hours away. Blah blah blah and turns out Tyler has grown up there.
Long story short, they start to get close and form a relationship.
This book was an absolute waste of time and effort. The story was bland, the writing was awful and the characters were so annoying they left me so angry I couldn’t pick up another book for a couple of days. Everything about this was also forgettable—I am writing this review at least three days after I finish it, and I have a hard time remembering what the heck even happened. It lacks depth, description. Important events happened and they are written as if they didn’t matter. The book was so focused in showing us how quickly they fell in love and when it came down to the main conflict of the book, everything was resolved within like, 30 pages. What the fuck!?
The end was so disappointing and so cliché I gagged.
I don’t know what I was expecting from New Adult romance books, but it wasn’t this disappointing mess.
Arc generously provided for a honest review. Entertaining read. Although some parts were predictable the story kept me interested. Low in the sexy department but high in the romance. My main complaint is that a lot of the angst just seemed unnecessary to me. That part kind of wore me out. Overall, in my opinion it was a good read.
The characters were great, but it seems like the story line for each of the band members just fizzled with each release. It ended up being a bit cliche and and ending that left me disappointed.
This is Tyler’s story and he had made a promise to his dad just before he died that Tyler would get out of his small town and follow his dream in music. Tyler had every intention of doing just that UNTIL he met this feisty girl who was all but ready to use a crowbar to smash in her cheating boyfriend’s headlights on his prize car. It took Tyler questioning her if it was worth getting into trouble for a cheater so when she decided against it, the sorority girls who were supposed to be her friends, took off leaving her without a ride in a parking lot with a stranger. At least he was a good looking stranger who Avery felt she could trust plus she still had that crowbar in her hands and wasn’t afraid to use it. Tyler gave Avery a ride home and a week later when Avery and her dad moved back to a small town to live with her Granny guess who happens to live in this small town too…yep, you guessed it Tyler! They knew that there was a spark there between them and both were spending a lot of time together since Tyler was helping her dad put an addition on her Granny’s home. They both were growing very strong feelings for each other and Tyler was up front with Avery telling her the promise he made his dead father on leaving town. Knowing that didn’t keep their feelings at bay and finally Tyler was ready to let go of his music dream for a night in order to live another dream he was having involving Avery. Tragedy struck that special night which crushed Avery and then to top it all off this is when Tyler feels the need to leave; right when Avery needed him most. Tyler had felt responsible for this tragedy and couldn’t face Avery so he figured this was the time to make that break and follow his music career. Makes you not like the guy, right?! Is there any acceptable excuse for his ill timed departure?
Now we fast forward three years and there are HUGE changes for both Tyler and Avery. Yes, his music dream did come true but at the expense of his love for Avery. He never forgot about that night they spent together and the deep feelings he still had for the girl he abandoned. Avery also had big changes as a result from that tragic night but went on without Tyler never hearing from him but following his career regardless because she also still loved that boy who left her at the lowest point in her life. What was so tragic about that night when Tyler and Avery finally gave in to their true feelings for one another and why did Tyler leave a girl he supposedly was falling in love with? Was Avery really willing to forgive and forget taking Tyler back and how could she trust that he wouldn’t just run off again? Their story will be pulling at your heartstrings but it will leave you with a HEA and have you feeling really good after you finish. If you love a book with a strong female this is one tough lady who knows what her priorities are.
This is the third installment of the Wicked White series and Ms. Valentine doesn’t let you down. She has a way of writing where you can “feel” your heart breaking right along with her characters and only really good authors can make you actually feel. If you haven’t read the first two books in this series no worries because this can be read without reading those first BUT do yourself a favor and pick up Wicked White and Wicked Reunion they were both great books as well.
This book was provided as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
So, I love Michelle A. Valentine and all of her books, but this one kind of fell off the mark for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I just thought that it went way too fast and it just wasn't written as well as the other two. This is really killing me to write this because I love this author.
One of the parts that I did love was how at the very beginning you meet Avery and she is on this path to destroy her cheating boyfriends red camaro. Don't mess with her and you won't get yours headlights bashed in with a crowbar. This is the night that she meets Tyler. He helps her out when her sorority sisters ditch her and then she sees him again like a week later at a frat party that his band is playing at. She then quits college due to her dad embezzling from the company that he worked for, her mom leaves since he can no longer give her the life she wants, and her sorority sisters turn on her saying that she no longer fits in with them. So, what do they do, they pack up and move in with her Granny to a small country town.
Tyler is wanting to make it big in the music scene but he can't do that if he is tied down with a girl. So, he makes a promise to his dying father that he will follow his dream and he won't let anyone stop him. That is until he finds out that Avery has moved into his town. They start seeing each other and one night he just can't fight it anymore and gives into her. That night leads to a horrific tragedy, which then get Tyler to leave town because he feels that it is all his fault.
The thing that I didn't really like about this book is how fast Avery takes him back. He leaves for 3 years without a word and the night that he comes back she is already telling him that everything is fine and she forgives him. WHAT!?! He left her on the worst day of her life and she is just going to be fine with it on the day that he comes back! I want some begging. I wanted him to have to work for her forgiveness. Yes, what happened wasn't his fault, but it was his fault the way he left her. I just wished that the second part of the book was longer.
Sorry Michelle, I love your books, but this one just wasn't as good as all of the others in my opinion.
**I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**
Wicked Love had a lot of potential but it just fell flat to me in the end.
Part of the issue was the maturity of the characters. Avery had so much potential to have some great growth (especially with her self-esteem issues) but she is stilted by her immature views that are never matured as the story progresses. I cut her some slack considering she is only 18 or so when the story starts but I scratched my head in confusion a few times with some of her thoughts and actions. Tyler was only slightly better but these two both lacked the ability to think two steps ahead, only seeing the immediate future and not thinking any further than that. It was really frustrating to read because the logic was screaming out at me as I read but they were both oblivious to it.
I also didn't realize that a majority (~70%) of the story is actually the retelling of their past. It establishes their relationship which is a cute story but these two failed to impress me with their thoughts and actions. When I picked up the book, I actually thought that it would focus more on their reunion and only allude to the past as they worked through their struggles. The last 30% or so does focus on their reunion but things just happen too easily and without any resistance. Like in the previous novels, the "happy-go-lucky" attitude prevents these characters from really maturing and developing because they never face any true conflict. I was really disappointed in how everything wraps up and I wanted more drama--especially when there was so much potential for said drama.
While this was an enjoyable read to pass the time, I wanted more from it.
I am disappointed that I didn’t like this book. The synopsis intrigued me enough to want to read it.
When we first meet Avery, she has caught her boyfriend cheating and this coincides with problems with her family. So girl has had a rough couple of months. I did enjoy how she met the hero, Tyler. It was funny and I though that this story would go great. Tyler and Avery kept running into each other so you know it was just a matter of time before a relationship of some sorts would develop. Now, I don’t mind insta-love so that didn’t bother me much in this book. What I didn’t like at all was the heroine Avery. She was so superficial and that made her annoying to me. Every time I was reading her POV, I couldn’t get past that. Tyler wasn’t bad but he was just bland. There could have been more depth to him and that wasn’t developed enough. But still that didn’t deter me from liking how they spent time together and the relationship that eventually happened. Now they get separated for a couple of years so when Tyler and Avery reunite, what will happened? This is the part that also bothered me. There wasn’t enough groveling and not enough discussion especially when a surprise was found out. This should have been when plot would be climatic but it fell way short. I felt that more chapters could have been added to the book to really show their reunion and how Tyler and Avery have changed in those three years. I had a difficult time reading this book because of what I wrote above. I have enjoyed other books from this author and I will probably read her in the future. I just believe that this series just wasn’t for me.

3 stars!
I don't really know what to say about this book. Everything started great.
Avery and Tyler met at a parking lot where she was about to damage her ex-boyfriend's car with a crowbar because she caught him cheating on her.
Tyler was starting his music career and he promised his father on his dying bed that he would stop screwing around and pursue his dream.
When he met Avery, it was a love at first sight, but because of Tyler's plans to leave the town for good, they decided to stay friends with limited benefits "like in a platonic relationship with the bonus of kissing".
But the flames of lust soon burned them and they couldn't resist the things they felt when ever they touch.
After the disastrous incident of the barn, Tyler left Avery assuming that it was a curse sent from his father from heaven.
Three years later, Tyler decided that it was time to come back and meet his mum and friends.
Seriously!
It took him three years to come back and see his lonely mother and the woman he claimed to love unconditionally and to fix the horrible mess he left behind?!
And what!!
That's it!!
Well, sorry if I lost track here.
I was so into this story but the last 30% of the book confused me and really enraged me. I felt that Avery sold herself short while she deserved more than a coward who left her at her lowest moments.
Unlike the other two books in this series this one was clear cut...you knew what was coming (or at least I did). It was predictable BUT in a good way, you just have this thought while reading it that you know exactly what is going to happen but you also hope your right because it's what you want to happen. I wasn't a fan of Tyler in Wicked White at all, he had a chip on his shoulder the size of Texas and took what he was feeling out on his band mates which just escalated the animosity that was already there between them. After reading Tyler's story it was clear why he always had that chip on his shoulder...he was riddled with guilt. Also unlike the other two books in this series...this book takes place mostly in the past, we aren't given a lot of insight into the present and future but what we were given I loved.
I would love to see Blake get a spin-off book because seriously the dude cracks me up! Overall I really liked this book, it was different from the other two as I said...but while reading it I wasn't sitting here thinking, "Okay when are we going to get into the present." For me the fact that this book started in the past and didn't jump back and forth between past and present was great because I get annoyed reading books that jump back and forth a lot. Again I can't wait to see what Michelle has coming out next!
I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read any other previous books in the series, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything when I was reading this one. Avery is a very resilient college student who is forced to leave college in a cloud of shame after her father is caught for stealing money from his company. Tyler is a musician that came across Avery in one of these moments that embarrassed her and came to her rescue. When Avery and her father are forced to move back to the hometown where he grew up the last person she thought she would run into again was Tyler. These two have off the charts chemistry, but when an honest mistake winds up in tragedy, Tyler takes off. Three years later, Tyler returns and finds out just what he left behind. Can these two figure out how to be there for each other now, or is it too late? I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I must say I really enjoyed this one! I loved the characters of Avery and Tyler, well I loved Tyler until I didn't.....
Avery came to live with her Grandmother after her father embezzled from his company and her idyllic life crumbled around her. I must admit she was a bit of a brat at first and it took a while to really get to like her but the longer she was there with her grandmother and she and Tyler got closer the nicer and more realistic she became. The relationship between Tyler and Avery was growing everyday until tragedy strikes and Tyler, filled with shame, walks out of her life. Now three years later he's back but Avery's not the sweet young girl anymore. She's had to move on and make the best of life. Will she be willing to listen to him and forgive??? I actually think more groveling was needed here but that's just me!
I absolutely love Michelle Valentine's books and Wicked Love is my favourite in this series so far, it's brilliantly written with great characters and totally hooked me from the first page.
Avery is having a rough time of it at the minute with her home life, school and relationship issues nothing is going her way then she meets Tyler. Tyler is a musician just looking for his big break getting involved with a girl is the last thing on his mind then he meets Avery, there's an instant spark between them and they quickly fall into a relationship. The problem is Tyler isn't planning on sticking around and when tragedy strikes for Avery, Tyler couldn't have found the worst time to walk away from her and completely break her heart. Will there ever be a way back for them or has Tyler lost the love of his life forever.
Avery s a popular girl till one day her father is caught embezzling money then her life goes to pot. She her boyfriend is cheating on her, her so called friends are no longer her friends, her mother leaves and she has to leave her nice big posh house and move in with her grandmother. All they have left from the life of luxury is the car.
Tyler lost his Dad and promised him on his death bed to stop whoring around and to pursue his dreams. That was until he met Avery. One night of passion results in a tragedy and Tyler leaves Avery behind at a time she needed him the most.
Fast forward 3 years.
Tyler walks back into Avery's life and all is well again. It went from immature to grown up to fast for me. I needed that in-between.
I was really disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the authors other books, so I thought this one would be great too. But no. The entire story is completely rushed, there is no real introduction to the characters, only very little background story. The main character Avery is superficial and has absolutely no backbone, I also found her to have a lot of contradictions in the way she thinks and behaves. Her entire inner monologue and thoughts don’t make sense to me at all. The first entire story line happens around 3 weeks, it feels completely rushed and not plausible at all. The second story line is basically the same. I feel the entire book was written in a rush, just to complete the series. I like the idea for the story and the book could have turned out really well, if there would be just more development to the characters and more pacing. Everything felt insincere.

4.5☆
This is my favourite book of the series so far, the story itself felt much more solid and hooked me in a lot quicker than the two previous stories did. I also really liked the main characters Tyler and Avery, although admittedly it did take some time for me to warm up to Avery and it wasn't really until the last half of the book that it happened.
The story itself was easy to read, very sweet and had very little angst. However it was at times a little predictable, especially during the last quarter of the story and Tyler's return to his hometown and Avery. That being said I did enjoy it, more than I was honestly expecting too and would therefore recommend it to others.
I struggled getting into this book; the pace was too slow and I didn't feel any real connection to either character. Avery talks about feeling so much for Tyler yet I didn't feel that connection between the two of them at all. Her world is very superficial it was difficult for me to relate to. I understand her world fell apart because of her father's actions but I think it was used as an excuse for drama in this book.
This book reads more of a young adult genre than a romance book. Both characters are very immature in their actions, decisions and behaviors.
I didn't make it more than 50% through this book before I had to put it away.
