This was again another lovely chick lit book in The Lonely Hearts Travel Club book series.

Georgia is just plain hilarious, and I would actually love to see the book series being developed into a tv show or movie, because she would be the perfect successor to Bridget Jones.

I highly recommend this book series as an easy beach read this summer, especially if you go to Chili, Thailand or India!

"The Lonely Hearts Travel Club" turned into a successful business and even the media got attention of Georgia and Bens story. They are invited to a tv show featuring successful couples in the travel business. Together they explore Chile and hope to win a lot of money.

Chile was a great setting and definitely something different. It was great to explore the country with the different couples and I also googled some destinations to get a better picture of the surroundings.

Georgia got herself into some hilarious situations again which had me laughing out loud. The humour was another plus for this book.

The problems between Georgia and Ben were a little bit annoying and I had the feeling that they were kind of forced to get some drama into the story.

Overall "Destination Chile" was an enjoyable read and I hope there will be more books one day.

'Destination Chile' is the third part in The Lonely Hearts Travel Club series by Katy Collins, one of Carina's rising stars and a fresh voice in the chick lit genre. What's amazing about this series is that it's based on the author's experience, jilted bride packs her stuff, leaves the life she knew so far behind and completely reinvents herself. It's pure alchemy what Ms Katy Colins did, rising from her ashes, turning such an unfortunate event into a mega success. Like a true alchemist, she's turned everything bad that's happened to her into words which inspire and will surely continue to inspire loads of young women around the globe.

If you're new to this series, it's probably the best if you start with the first part 'Destination Thailand', not because this part can't be read as a stand alone, but because you get to really feel the main character (Georgia) and everything she's been through. You need to understand her reasons for leaving everything behind, follow her passion which might even trigger a change in you too, cry with her, laugh with her and admire her for being such a courageous woman.

The other reason why you should probably read Destination Thailand first, is because a certain romance develops and it would be considered a major spoiler in this part. SO IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST PART IN THE SERIES, JUST STOP READING THIS REVIEW NOW!

Consider yourselves warned! Ok?

Georgia and Ben are not only sharing their business, 'The Lonely Hearts Travel Club' but they're also moving their relationship to a different level, by moving in together. After Thailand they've realised they are made for each other and everything in the past year lead to this step, it seemed totally natural to move in and who knows...maybe even get more serious. It's not like they've discussed marriage, but after certain events Georgia starts thinking Ben will surprise her very soon with a proposal. One of her friends hooks her up with a producer who is interested in getting Georgia and Ben on a show, Wanderlust Warriors, where they get to share their personal stories and how it feels like to be emotionally involved with your business partner. You know how they say, don't mix pleasure with business? Well, soon Ben and Georgia will discover the meaning of this. Their relationship might be going through a test, but the grand prize of 25 000 pounds seems very tempting. They're off to Chile and will try to beat 4 more couples in some very interesting challenges and get the grand prize to invest in their future. But as you can assume, some things won't be that easy.

I won't go much into details, but believe me there will be loads of interesting situations, from bike scavenger hunt, to sandboarding in the desert, all in a span of just two weeks. There's not a dull moment in this book, I can promise you that. I can also tell you, this series just gets better and better! It's obvious Katy has a zest for adventure and travel, and the reader can really feel how she enjoys traveling but not because of visiting cool places. On the contrary, travel heals her (Georgia too) and as the author puts it 'travel gives you a fresh perspective on things'. I've never been to Chile, or any part of America, but I could feel I'm walking the streets of Santiago, I could feel the sand beneath my feet, I feel imagine Pablo Neruda's spirit and all those cool things Chile represents. It's all down to Katy and her amazing writing skills, of that I'm absolutely positive.

To be completely frank, when I started reading this series I wasn't that big of a fan of Georgia. Besides, we've seen it before with Lindsey Kelk's I heart series, the whole backpacking and leaving everything behind. But the autobiographical elements were what really got me hooked on this series. One could feel how passionate Katy is about this, how she evolved together with her main character, how much effort she put to pour her soul on the pages. I'm telling you, it takes guts to do that! Georgia has come a long way, she's more mature now (which I liked so so much), she's stronger and believes in herself more. She's not one to pity, on the contrary she's very inspiring. I absolutely loved the fact I saw her transforming, from one part to another, growing into this amazing young woman who knows how to turn s*it into gold. I was very proud of her!

Ben seems nice but I wasn't blown away. I don't know, it's not that I didn't like him, but Georgia's spirit was oozing from the pages, it's like she overshadowed every other character in the book. At least for me. But that's not a bad thing, right?

Besides loving the new ballsy Georgia, what I loved the most is the strong feel good factor of this book. I enjoyed their challenges, everything is happening fast and gives the book a great dynamics. However, the only thing that bother me and is the reason for not giving this book the max 5 stars, is the fact some things by the end felt a bit too rushed. It was drama, drama, and more drama... which seemed a bit over the top for my taste.

But overall, this is one mega fun book! You don't need a passport or the cash, all you need to travel to Chile is just a copy of this book! Brace yourself, it's gonna be one hell of a ride! Super fun plot, great location, ballsy heroine, what's not to love? If you're a chick lit fan, you will definitely enjoy it!

Just ok cozy romance (wait, is that a thing?), or guess, chick lit 📖book about two people who don’t communicate, make assumptions and become a hot mess on national television. Then make up. Didn’t really like either of the characters and spent most of the time rolling my eyes so hard oar sighing heavily. Meh.

A South American travel adventure sounded just the thing so I picked this one up ready to vicariously travel along for a good time. There was a feeling of women's fiction blended with romance in that it highlighted Georgia's ongoing personal growth and healing, friendships and change, and of course her relationship with Ben. This had its deeper moments, but it was blended with light comedic moments, too.

I discovered when I started reading that Destination Chile was the third leg in the Lonely Hearts Travel Club series. It worked out pretty well considering it was quite obvious that this story began earlier, but the author recapped things well enough that I wasn't lost and had set up a new story thread with another trip adventure and situation.

Georgia and her boyfriend Ben run a travel business together in Manchester, England. They've been told that mixing business with a personal relationship will cause all sorts of trouble, but somehow they are managing. They struggle a bit with leaving work at the office and Georgia is treading carefully with Ben as they have just moved in together and must figure out domestic harmony. She hasn't missed that Ben says little about his past and hasn't introduced her to his dad. There is also the added tension lately because Ben wants to expand and set up an office in London while Georgia is skittish of an expansion.

Georgia's friends have loads of advice and some pointed observations which make her really start to think. Now one of her best friend's is moving to Australia and taking Ben's friend Jimmy, her boyfriend, with her. Georgia doesn't do well with change of that nature so she is flustered and decides that she and Ben just need to get away to somewhere far from their lives- a chance to search out their thoughts and have some meaningful talk. After getting ditched at the altar that set her on a backpack journey to find herself, she wants to make good and sure about things with Ben. All this leads to them accepting a place on a reality show that will feature local travel celebrity types in a competition for a prize while they travel in Chile. It's not quite the adventure and soul-searching time Georgia imagines.

Alright, this one was a delightful story. Georgia is an everyday woman and I had a good time going along as she narrated her thoughts and life. She's come a long way and would like to think she's arrived when it's obvious there is still more to come. Georgia is a successful businesswoman and is thrilled by what she has with Ben, but she is also poised to have it all snatched away from her. Her vulnerability leads to second guessing and a need to control things.

Georgia's two best friends were fun foils for her. I loved the extended scene time with both of them particularly her pregnant friend who tends to see things clearly and pushes Georgia to examine her actions and choices. Georgia and her friends are non-glam types who are just trying to make their way which offers some laughter and cute moments.

The story's main setting isn't so much on Chile as it is on the contest going on in Chile. Even though I wasn't expecting that, I soon adjusted. There were still a good smattering of Chilean culture and sights to give me scope for my imagination though it was blended with activities and a cast of quirky characters. The competing couples made Ben and Georgia seem blah in comparison though they are not (Georgia kept getting into hilarious scrapes). There were three other couples and they were all so very different which made for fun times especially since the competitions brought out the humorous moments.

While the spotlight of Destination Chile is very much Georgia, I enjoyed her and Ben together. She is afraid to just accept and enjoy because of being burned in the past. Ben has his own issues because his mom and dad split up with his mom leaving, but it takes Georgia a while to see this. The contest showed they make a good pair even if they have stuff to work out.

I will quickly squeeze in the point that this is written by and to Brits so I actually found it more entertaining as an American reader getting a different reader perspective.

All in all, I had a good time getting to know Georgia and her friends, the contest and Chile, Georgia and Ben's deepening relationship, and seeing Georgia come into her own. I think getting all three books would have been even better. I think those who enjoy romantic comedy, light women's fiction and contemporary romance would be a good target for this book.

I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

RomCom set in CHILE (and Manchester)

Georgia and Ben are an item and they run the Lonely Hearts Travel Club. It is all going pretty well and then Georgia happens to find a beautiful ring in Ben’s pocket. Could this mean….?

As a couple, they are invited to travel to Chile to take part in a TV adventure contest, with other couples, that should put their travel business (and them!) on the map. They touch down in Santiago and already Georgia is struggling to manage the disabled toilet with the revolving door (you can imagine what happens when she is mid flow!) and it seems Ben has picked up the wrong suitcase because she certainly didn’t pack any sex toys and they are exploding from this newly opened bag!

For the first filmed adventure, they have to pick up clues around the city of Santiago and they certainly have some fishy encounters. The reader joins them in the Mercato Central and there is a quick trip to the famous bar, called Flea – in Spanish La Piojera – which Scope Travel calls “The Most Chilean Bar”, it is real ‘Chilean gold’, established way back in 1896.

Thence off up North to the Atacama desert (where the world’s strongest telescope can be found) and there are hight temperatures and back down south to the mountains.

This is a novel that does exactly what it says on the tin! A romcom with a combination of travel, romance and angst.

You know how sometimes you need something light and predictable and feel-good to balance out something you've read earlier (or life in general)? This does the trick perfectly.

There's very little new going on in this compared to the previous books - Georgia is still a successful entrepreneur, her relationship is doing fine, she has lovely friends. This time she ends up in a reality TV show (think Amazing Race but in a much smaller scale) and of course things don't go quite as planned.

I liked the descriptions of tasks they end up doing during the shooting of the show, the little glimpses of Chile and its culture, but I think overall this didn't offer as much as the other parts. I wish the author had fleshed out the supporting characters more, because there seemed to be some personalities there. Still, a fun read and perfectly did the trick I needed it to do.

Once in a while a series will come along that just gets under your skin, hits all the marks you are subconsciously looking for in a book, and they are books you become very excited to see the next one is finally ready for publication. For me The Lonely Hearts Travel Club is a series like that, I love the travel elements, I love the relationship elements, and I really do enjoy reading Georgia' s story.

Having never read anything set in Chile, nor having ever really given the country much thought, I have no idea how factually correct the elements of this book are, but I did get a real feel for just what a country of contrasts it is, from the Atacama to Patagonia, with Santiago adding the city feel.

The reasons the Georgia is in Chile and this time with Ben, is certainly a different departure from her last two adventures, this time there is a television show involved, and the holiday is expenses paid, but they four couples on it, all have to do various challenges around Chile, in order to compete to win some prize money.

This holiday is a real test for Ben and Georgia as things just don't go too smoothly, and even what is probably one of most people's top holiday nightmares is dealt with, with the correct amount of despair and humour.

As such a huge fan of the series, it is hard to make a judgment on whether this works as a standalone, but I feel it should do as all the key relationship and friendship points are mentioned in just enough detail so that you get an idea of what has gone on before.

There is just a quality to Katy Colins writing that means once I picked up Destination Chile I had a hard job putting it down, and I was almost resentful of a theatre show I had booked which interrupted my reading of this book!

Destination Chile is a worthy addition to the Lonely Hearts Travel Club series, it moves all the key storylines along, and we keep updated with Georgia's best friends too, even if they aren't given huge amounts of "air time". As always when finishing a book in this series, I am already eagerly anticipating the next installment, and can't wait to go down under next with Georgia!

Thank you to Midas PR for this review copy of Destination Chile. This was my honest opinion.

A predictable easy to read part romance part discovery novel. This was easy to pick up as we navigate Georgia Green's life post break up when she is jilted at the altar twelve days before marrying Alex, her boyfriend of five years. 'The lonely hearts travel club' was of course a predictable read but, it felt both like I was in Thailand and that it was a memoir that Katy had lived herself. I wondered at the international reach often, the descriptions of a UK high street and some of the colloquialism I wondered how this translated to an international audience. Also the use of the word 'pet' from a Mancunian seemed a far reach. The slight pity me narrative was a bit repetitive sometimes but it was an enjoyable read. It made me reflect on my own time inter-railing, going on holidays and adventures meeting like minded folk all thrown together. I also really enjoyed the defined words at the start of each chapter which felt like a word lover had written this book. I wouldn't continue with the series and read books two and three, mainly because I have no desire to visit any of the places (nor Thailand for that matter) but I would be interested to see what happens with Georgia. This would make a good Netflix series.

I enjoyed this book - it's the third in a series although I had not read the first two books I don't think it really mattered much, well written and in the style of the 'Shopaholic' books, this is about Georgia and Ben who have a travel business and the ups and downs of running a business and being together 24/7. They embark on a trip to Chile to take part in a television programme with 3 other couples on running a business but it's not all they thought it might be. Some genuinely hilarious situations occur and it's a great light hearted easy read. I would definitely like to read the other two books although they do go in sequence I am sure they would be just as entertaining.

A great holiday read especially if you like the 'Shopaholic' series - I would definitely recommend this and it gets an easy 5 stars from me.

I would like to thank the publisher for sending this in exchange for an honest review.

Katy Colinsin Seikkailuja yksinäisille sydämille -sarja on onnistunut hurmaamaan minut. Sarjan kolmas osa Määränpää: Chile on mielestäni sarjan onnistunein osa.

Kolmas kirja Colinsin matkailuromanssikirjoja.

Actual rating 2/5 out of 5.

This was my least favourite of the three books, as I felt the storyline was a bit more far-fetched than the rest of the books. Having said that, the challenges that Ben and Georgia face were very interesting as normally romance novels show the 'happy' side of relationships! It was refreshing to see this change.

First let me just say that I’ve read the paperback issue but Goodreads did not have it so I had to log this read as an ebook. Anyway…. Georgia is soooo annoying you just want to give her a good shake and tell her to grow up. How stupid can she be? I will not be reading any more books in this series.
