Rate this book
Who knew Manhattan’s Heir would be in the bedroom down the hall?

Derrick Bourse is used to getting what he wants. Heir to the Bourse Museum fortune in New York City, he’s a gorgeous, notorious socialite who became the best jiu jitsu fighter around just because he felt like trying it. Women have been known to throw themselves at him…and he’s not one to say no. But Derrick doesn’t do relationships. He does conquests.

When the hottest girl he’s ever seen walks into his gym, Derrick thinks it’s business as usual..but Madison Dale won’t be just another notch in his bedpost.

Madison Dale finds Derrick Bourse arrogant, infuriating, rude, and incredibly attractive. After a heated exchange at his gym, she attempts to swear him off forever.

But she finds out they’ll soon be sharing the same school…and the same house.

*NOTE: Relatively Torn is an HEA romance with a rough-and-rugged bad boy turned white knight, taboo elements, and explicit content.

Spoilers

The hero cheats towards the end. No reason for it, he says he just lost control. The heroine takes him back with very little apologies. I hate cheaters. That ruined the story for me.

Sorry I wasted my time. (Spoilers included)

Madison and Derrick had a unplanned quickie in the women's locker room at the gym he attends. Only to find out several hours later that their parents have married and they are now step siblings.
As their parents are off on a summer long honeymoon to Europe the two are left on their own in Derrick's father's huge penthouse.
Derrick has multiple bed partners and Madison has slept with her new boss.
Their was a lot of sex with not a condom in sight or any mention of birth control. This bothered me.
Eventually they do get together and fall in love.
By this time I'm thinking what a nice love story until Derrick cheats on her at her art gallery exhibition with his ex father's assistant and his first love.
That was pretty much it for me.
The author almost glosses over all this as she mentions all the flowers he sends Madison to say he's sorry and he screwed up.
Of course she takes him back.
The book ended quite abruptly with no epilogue. I have no idea if the story continues in another book, not that I care as I wouldn't bother reading it.

Wth? He sleeps with women right next to her in the house and let's her hear it. After he has sex with Mad he has a 3some the next night and she hears it. What the hell is this? Then the next morning he says he loves her and that's it? She falls right into it? OMG, stupid stupid. And he is a POS. And then...Derrick cheats at the end, after everything? And he has her show at his ex's gallery??!?!! I can't believe he had sex with the Elena at Madison first gallery show. I hate him. He really has no excuse other than he lost control. Wow, so then it can happen again and again. He really doesn't grovel at all just sends flowers. He has NO EXCUSE! Ruined the whole book for me. I hate that Madison takes him back. Who does that? He actually tells the Elena after they have sex that he loves Madison. Wtf??? I can really feel that love for Madison when you were going down on Elena and having unprotected sex with her a minute ago. And speaking of, he has sex with no condoms with both of them. Wow, he loves Mad, but takes chances with the safety like that. What a prince. It just ruined any trust you built up for him in the book. Ruined the read for me really. It just didn't have to happen.

Relatively Torn: A Manhattan Heir Romance is by Zoey Long. It is an erotic romance that is not intended for the weak. The plot is strong and riveting. The characters are realistic and well-developed. It takes place in Manhattan. It is told in first person alternating chapters between Derrick and Madison. If the eroticism wasn’t so blatant, the book would be better as the plot is very good.
Madison is a junior at NYU and is packing to go home to New Jersey for the summer. Her part time job at a daycare is over as the daycare is closing for the summer. With nothing to hold her, she plans to find a part time job at home for the summer. Meanwhile, she goes to try a new gym for which she has a pass. She tries the yoga session but is interrupted by the noise coming from another part of the gym. She goes to find out what it is and sees a jiujitsu session finishing. A gorgeous man is the winner. He arrogantly addresses her and she leaves to take a shower. The next morning, she goes back to the gym only because of the pass and runs into him again. This time he introduces himself as Derrick. The two are wildly attracted to each other.
Madison’s mother calls and wants her to meet her for lunch at a new restaurant for them. The Aisling is an upscale and expensive restaurant and Madison thinks it is too expensive; but if that is where her Mother wants to meet, so be it. When Madison gets there, her Mother is sitting close to a man. She is introduced to Frank Bourse, the owner of Bourse Museum. Her Mother and Frank are dating. It is more than Madison can take in so she has several quick martinis. Then another man enters and is introduced as Frank’s son Derrick. Yes, the same Derrick from the gym. Both Madison and Derrick are stunned to see the other there. They are even more stunned when they are told that Frank and Amanda, Madison’s mother, are married. That makes Madison and Derrick step-siblings! To make matters worse, Madison has to move into the Bourse penthouse with her Mother, Frank, and Derrick! This makes for an explosive situation.

Wtf? That was like a lord of the rings ending

SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ BEFOREHAND READ AFTER YEARS U READ THE BOOK********

OK so this book OWES me more. I spend all and I do mean ALL of my NYE reading it. I was very thrown off by the lack of any birth control I mean this guy never even pauses to ask if a girl is on the pill or if she minds if he is sans a condom. After banging several girls with out protection and she is banging another guy with out protection I almost gave up but I was invested so I read on. And on and by god I read on.....many many hours later we come up on the betrayal moment that was so well written I honestly was nauseated. I hated Derrick at that point and in my eyes he never made up for it . EVERY CHEATING ABUSIVE JACKHOLE ON EARTH says I love you and it will never happen again. I was impressed enough by the author's writing to assume she would redeem him in a way befitting the crime instead we get roses and a poorly worded I'm sorry. What kind of message is this sending to younger readers? Screw who you can when you can bareback and if you get caught send flowers and say sorry and she will be back on her knees in no time. I kept waiting for that final act of valour but the book ended so abruptly I gotta wonder if the author just chopped off the ending for a part two. Honestly I will buy part two if that's e case because frankly i feel I am owed closure in this storyline and that non-ending took a 5 star book and dropped it to a 3 only not a 1 because the grammar, form and fluidity of the writing was impeccable.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Billionaire, Derek, has been raised with privilege. Life is one big party. Madison is a struggling student. When the two meet at a gym, Derek irritates Madison, but that doesn't stop her from being attracted to him. After a one-night stand (or one-morning stand) Madison is determined to never see him again.

Soon enough they find out their parents have married and the story begins. My only issue with the book is that the same argument seems to happen over and over. Also, (and this is a personal thing), I don't believe it's horrible for step-siblings to get together when they meet for the first time as adults (it's not like they grew up together as brother and sister) so Madison's drama about how taboo and wrong it is got a little old.

Overall, it's a great story. I really like the billionaire playboy trying to grow up part of the story.

I received ab Arc of Relatively Torn, only in exchange for an honest revirw
Fantastic story, Their plot to sneak around and be together is comical and the banter is even funnier. Derrick and Madison met at a studio where Derrick fights in MMA and she's got attitude because she couldn't enjoy her Yoga. Their relationship is doomed from the start even though they've already been intimate, by their parents getting married and making them stepsiblings Bad Boy Millionaire who's used to getting what he wants has gotten knocked off his feet by his stubborn stepsisster and has to work double time to keep her.

Relatively.....torn

The title expresses my opinion of this book.

I was gifted this book (ARC) for a honest review.
#1 it was well written. Grammar and spelling was edited. Nice.
#2 It was predictable.
#3 Man-whore vs desperate-slut.

I know a lot of readers get turned on reading about step siblings. I am not one of them. But if I was.....I would recommend this book. Young college kids having sex having sex and their parents recently married. I heard the "I love you" exchange but seriously, loving someone and then they have sex with another and the excuse was "it didn't mean anything"? Maybe that was MY problem.

Easy read. Entertaining. Enjoy.

When Derrick Bourse and Madison Dale meet for the first time more than sparks fly.
Madison thinks she'll never see Derrick again after they've just got hot and steamy together.
There both in for a surprise as their respective parents have just tied the knot.
What do they do now there step-siblings is it wrong for them to have a relationship. There both adults surely they should be allowed?
You need to read to find out the highs and lows of their relationship

I never write reviews. I love reading and I occasionally like the reformed playboy. However this was sad I was almost in tears with the betrayal from Derrik. I understand it was his first love. It just broke Madison's heart. It was just really sad for me and not much of a love story as I was expecting. I have a feeling a second book might come out with Elena pregnant. That might be because I don't really have a feeling of completion.

Read at your own risk.

Ugh this book never talks about using protection...Gross

Very disappointed. This book was an absolute nightmare. Derricks was childish and a cheater. Madison had no self esteem or pride about herself what so ever. I kept waiting for it to get better and started skipping through to the end.

Another stepbrother romance

The book was OK very erotic , lots of sex. I didn't care too much for the brisk ending. I feel I should have stopped reading once I realized it was another stepbrother romance.

It wasn't really my thing, but if you like stepbrother romances this book is for you. I struggled through to the end. I didn't realize that was the premise of the book. The story also ends abruptly in my opinion.
