I've embroidered a strawberry on my plain jane apron and a cherry on a tea towel for a friend, and both look good to my untrained, un-crafty eye. in fact they look so good they garnered a "wow" from my otherwise difficult to impress husband. yay!
ADDED: yep, this kit is great! I embroidered the tea towels that were in the kit as a gift for a friend for her housewarming. they turned out very cute--imperfect, but cute. I did one w/ cherries and one with a teacup.
This is a great, non-intimidating kit for a beginning stitcher. I'm already planning out my next project!!!!
This is an amazing kit! Jenny Hart has a way of making embroidery "cool". Her patterns are fun and modern. This is the kit where I learned how to embroider. It is super easy to understand and the way she teaches is fun. Highly reccomended!
As a first time emroiderer, I picked up this kit and loved it! It was easy to use and had easy to follow instructions. My only complaint was that the hoop fastener didn't tighten after much use, so I had to go and buy a new one.
