Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.
Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.
Maka finds corona at the church when they first meet Stein goes into madness and starts a massacre while on the moon Sid goes to check for the kishen in the moons nose Maka finds corona and fights them but corona leaves to the moon for the kishen Stein is able to beat Justin finally killing him Kid gets called to make a deal with the witches And Maka and the group decide to break orders and follow corona to the moon
Okay, the more of the finale we see, the more I wonder who the heck like half these characters are, but I was glad to spend a bit more time with our usual meisters and weapons as they search for Crona in this one.
Soul Eater, Vol. 22 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next five chapters (93–97) of the on-going manga series.
While the forces of the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) forces the fight back against the Clown's army, Franken Stein uses the power of madness and manages to fight equally with Justin Law and his own madness until he has the facility to win against him, Death the Kid is struggling against a small group of Clowns who has the ability to regenerate itself thanks to the Kishin's Madness Wavelength, and Sid Barrett with Akane Hoshi and Clay Sizemore from the DWMA's Central Intelligence Agency are looking for the Kishin's hideout inside the moon's nose where await Noah and Gopher.
Meanwhile, Maka Albarn who is determined to bring Crona back is finally found, but since Crona has murdered Medusa, all Crona wants to do is paint the world in black and insanity by getting the Kishin and so flies to the moon. The Spartoi squad decides to disobey Shinigami's orders as they have no choice, but to join the others on the moon.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. The tankōbon mainly focuses on the war on the moon with the DWMA battles with the Kishin forces. The secondary story, albeit more interesting, is Maka Albarn's quest to find and bring Crona back in to answer for all that Crona has done – murder, matricide, and the like.
All in all, Soul Eater, Vol. 22 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.
So I'm not sure what's going on with stein's eyes? At least I think that's his eyes. I'm not sure what's going on but he reminds me of a bug but whatever. He's fighting against Justin and his own madness so it's interesting how he can keep his own while being split metaphorically. He finally gets the upper hand and kills Justin. Thankfully.
Kid can't get a break with the regenerating clowns. Shinigami orders kid to come back to earth immediately and has to be forced to get back on the ship. So kid takes the wounded and dead back which was sweet of him. I get why kid is reluctant but shinigami's plan might actually work. To get the witches to cooperate will be another thing.
Sid, clay, akane, Noah and gopher are looking for the kishin in the moons nose. Gopher is so weird, cause I know he's in love with Noah but he should no that's not his Noah since this Noah was created with the wrath chapter not the greed chapter like before.
Maka finally finds crona but crona is to far in insanity to come back and flies to the moon to get the kishin and compete the task Medusa have her. Maka vows to follow crona to the moon and disobey the shinigami's demands. Spartoi also joins in disobeying shinigami and want to join Maka on the moon.
Overall great action and tension and I can't wait to read more.
Onto the next book.

An impressive battle start. The fight against the Great Devourer will not be easy.Shibusen students will have to stay focused on their mission to beat this monster that spreads madness all around him. I can't wait to read more and see what will happen with Crona. She has seriously fallen into madness, there is practically nothing left of herself.
Justin is The battle on the moon is still raging and now Crona is on their way to the moon. Maka and company don't want to follow orders, which are killing Crona on sight. They think Crona can be saved and I think so too. Even though he killed Medusa and thinks he's a lost cause of madness, I think Maka will be able to get through to him.
I've been reading the series for years and I'm almost at the end. I hope it's been worth the wait.
I do like that they again play with Stein and his madness as they give him a similar ability to what Justin has. We also see the other two death scythes in action and they pretty cool like a rainbow axe and a lamp that can create multiple types of genies that can attack. Also I do like that Death is not afraid to ask others for help as he brings in a new ally. I really have no idea why Noah appears as I feel that plot was given a pretty good ending at feels they just wanted to add a bit more padding.
While Kid leads the death weapons and a team of DWMA regulars in an attack on the Kishin on the moon, the Spartoi are sent to finish locating Crona...and then kill him.
Special emphasis during the moon battle on Stein vs. Justin--which is remarkably well-handled.
We're getting down to the wire here. Nothing too crazy happened in this volume, but I love the way Ohkubo shows how the madness overtakes his characters. It adds such a unique artistic look to his manga. It's super crazy and it's a great addition to the series.
Pretty awesome series, I love most of the main characters! The story’s alright but still very enjoyable tho I think I prefer the anime much more😁👌⚔️📖❤️
Really good volume this time but man is the author going on a tangent about order now. Chrona is in on the order as well now?? She never seemed to care much about it so where is this all coming from?
