One of my favorite books of all-time. I loved the work Ted McKeever was doing around this time. Right off of Transit, he made an especially funny, weird and interesting epic with an unlikely hero, Eddy Current. I have owned all the version printed of this series. The original comic series, the Atomeka 3 volume series, the Image Ted McKeever Library series and this one. The Dark Horse one is by far the best version in terms of quality with a satin quality and crispness of line quality. The Image version is rough and feel like it was scanned from the comic books and not from the original art. The paper is also not so thick, but very opaque so the pages from behind doesn't come through so much. My biggest issue with this version is the cover. Mostly the border. It has a flowery pattern around and I wished it was printed in black instead. It doesn't bring out anything. I don't think it is relevant to the story. The art in the cover is okay otherwise. The design inside is well done. Atomeka's series was beautifully done and the matte covers are excellent, but the interior pages didn't match up to the quality of this book, but otherwise they are fine. I found they also added other things in their version that wasn't relevant to Eddy Current. So this version is the best. I totally recommend it. Of course it would be nice if the covers had been reproduced in color, but instead you get it in black and white without the cover logos and title.
