Tekel: The Weight of Mercy

Rate this book
Pastor FLOYD is known throughout the hood, as ‘the good reverend’. He touts himself as being a preacher’s preacher, and a pastor’s pastor. He boasted that he has studied comparative religions, and is a systematic theologian. He preaches, and teaches, ‘the sufficiency of grace’. Everyone calls him ‘the big dog’!
From the age of 4 he has heard the voice of the Archangel MICHAEL, whispering in his ear. Directing his path, and ordering his steps! In the last 5 years he has actually met the archangel. Walked with him! Talked with him!
But today it is not Michael’s voice he hears whispering to his heart, and mind. In fact, it is not a whisper, at all! For the first time in his ministry, he hears the audible voice of GOD! GOD is calling on him do something that he flat out refuses to do. He can’t do it! He knows it’s a test. One he has no problem failing! After all, he still has free will. Or does he?
Experience his amazing struggle against yielding to the call. Experience his heartfelt plea for God to let this cup pass from him. Experience the unimaginable three day journey God takes him on, to change his mind.
But it’s not only Floyd. All of the residents of “Brock’s Estate” are being put to the test. Human and Watcher, alike! All of them are being reminded that at one time they’d all been TEKEL! They are all being reminded of their own dark past (especially Brock). They are all being reminded that God used someone else to carried the weight of mercy on HIS shoulders...FOR THEM!
What would you do if God called on you to be the vessel He needs to do His bidding? Is there a limit to your obedience? Is there a limit to your willingness to show mercy? Don’t be too quick to answer. This story will force you examining your own faith, and walk with...God

TEKEL....THE WEIGHT OF MERCY!!!!!

I love, love, love author E.J. Brock. I remember having her first book "Brock's Redemption" of this series for a long time before I finally read it and then was asking myself what took you so darn long to read it. The first book up till this book is PURE FIYAHHHHHH!!!!

Tekel: The Weight of Mercy is book 24 in her series and let me tell you something, she writes Holy Spirit led in her books and I always wait for the next book to drop before I will read a book. Well let me tell you, this book took me through, under, around, down, up, sideways and back. I repented, I apologized, asked for forgiveness and cried.

This story challenges everything you believe who you are and Who God is, Who Jesus is and Who the Holy Spirit. We all fool ourselves into believing we are sinless, because we are saved, go to church, in ministry, speak christianese, speak in tongues, know the bible forward and backward, always have a word in season for people. Oh yes all of that is great until we are called by "The Almighty" to do something that causes are flesh to rebel and run off like Jonah did when God called him to preach repentance to the ninevites. All of a sudden we act as if God couldn't possibly be asking us to do such a thing, to go before our enemies and forgive them, to feed them, to clothe them, to minister to them, to show them love, mercy, grace and compassion. Our response is, "Oh no Lord, You know what they did to me, how they treated me, how the spoke to me, how they lied on me, stole from me, cheated on me, killed my loved one or ones". And the list goes on and on.

But....I am also learning that God will never ask you, commission you, lead you to do something He asks us to do if He hasn't already made a way for us to accomplish it. That is what this story is about, The Mercy of God for all of us because without it we are all doomed to the pit of hell.

Pastor Floyd was given a charge, that he knew in his flesh was impossible, he also knew the damage that was done to his family behind the person God was calling him to go to. Pastor Floyd is a mighty man of God but in that moment, he wasn't mighty, he was a man who knew that a test has just been put before him and if he chose not to do it, God always has a Ram in the bush. But God was calling Pastor Floyd to do it because the only way for him to go further and deeper into God's bosom is by doing this very hard thing. When I realized what God wanted from Pastor Floyd and who he wanted him to go to, my heart fell through my shoe. First I really forgot about the person because he was in several books back towards the beginning of the series, so you understand the logic (out of sight, out of mind) but how fitting was this because it was never out of God's sight nor His mind.

That whole scenario brought a personal scenario to my forefront which I forgot about (Well not actually, I pushed it so far deep into the recesses of my subconscious that I had not thought about the incident in over 2o years). But God has a way of bringing things forward because you see, it is the only way that you can be healed from it and delivered and finally set free. God asked me did I forgive those who had taken the life of my loved one (I don't know who did and never will on this side of eternity anyway). It was a bitter and hard pill to swallow, days of wrestling while reading this story, I finally let it all go because the truth of the matter is this, "God is no respecter of persons and He can save anybody He wants, and does not need our permission to do so". So you ask God to help you pray for the person or persons (Whether they are living or not), you pray for mercy on their souls. God has mercy on all of us, all the day long and all night long, every single day, so who are we to not extend mercy to others. For if it were not for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who took our rightful place on that old rugged cross, none of us would be saved.

Pastor Floyd, His Family, the Ultimate Watchers, the Watchers, the Estate all took notice and saw God's Mighty Hand and Outstretched Arm of Mercy. Their own hearts were challenged and called into account, no one escaped, all have fallen short of The Glory of God. This story has challenged me deeply, it will definitely be a reread for me because I need to be reminded of "Tekel: The Weight of Mercy".

If I haven't said it already, I will say it now, this is a series that you should not let pass you by. You will be thoroughly blessed by and the author's Holy Spirit led writing. There are currently 25 books now that have been released. Author E.J. Brock's latest story is "The Archangel Jeremiel" which is book 25, so you see once you start you can continuously read on without stopping Woot! Woot!

EJ Brock has a powerful pen that never disappoints. This latest release doesn't stray from the amazing storytelling her readers have come to know and love. This book is now my favorite in the series, which was previously held by a tie between "The Wrath of Seraphiel" and "The Archangel Chamuel."

This story is sure to tug on any heart that's human. I've never openly cried while reading a book, but this one just took me there in Chapter 31. The rest of the book kept my eyes misty as you dig through each of the emotions of the people this monumental task affects.

I highly recommend this story for entertainment, but also to anyone who may be struggling with unforgiveness, holding a grudge, or letting go. Well done Ms. Brock. You still got me, still a #BrockAddict.

Heavy Heart!

This story made me think about my life and a few issues I'm having. How hard is it to forgive? Well I'll tell you it can be a very hard decision to make, I'm a Leo and we love hard and when we hurt or our love ones hurt it's on. We fight for our family and friends too, but done cross us Leo's. I can hold a attitude, and Lord knows a grudge too. So I understood how most of the family felt, but at the end of the day Symphony was the only one that had the right to feel some kind of way. She was good with it so that should've been the end of it, but NOT love it lol. Who Father Tommie merry? Lord this book was good, I feel like I've been teased lol.

TEKEL

There are not adequate words to describe this biblical lesson wrapped in an awesome parable. So I will say that this book is amazing, outstanding and one of the best books of 2015. This story not only entertained, but exhibited the wonderful love of God and showed how forgiveness can bring healing. I believed it was Melinda Michelle that said that EJ Brock is a Master of the Pen and she really is. Please make sure you read Message From The Author at the end of this book, it will bless you just as much as the story will bless you. I strongly and Highly recommend this book.

As always Ms. Brock's books are amazing! They are well thought out highly spiritual and life changing! Her characters may be fictional but her message is not! She grabs you deep down in your soul and opens your eyes to the possibilities of life. She has you examining your mind, your heart and your soul and I believe just reading her books brings out the innate goodness in all of us. It's not a new perspective it's a time honored one that has gotten lost along the way. Love, forgiveness, empathy, charity. "But for the grace of God, go I".

Mercy

We all tend to judge one another without considering our own flaws. This book is a true reminder to look in your own mirror first. Will you like what you see? Are you any more deserving of grace and mercy than the next person? What if God's grace and mercy turned their backs on you? Where would you be then? What will it take for you to forgive and ask for forgiveness?

Wow

I am really running out of things to say about this series. It's truly amazing in every way. EJ uses the word to reach each individual right where they are. She makes you reflect on past and current transgressions and to open up your eyes, ears and hearts to harken to the spirit of The Lord. On to the last book out.

Wow! The Weight Of Mercy! Or my title "How Much Are You Prepared To Forgive?" SPOILER ALERT!! Nope, I won't do that. I had other books that were my favorites, But This one eased right up there. I believe you could actually read this book all alone and enjoy it without knowing all the going on's from the the previous books (But I don't recommend it). Very good story about the weight of forgiveness that as a person or a Christian person must deal with. Ms. Eva certainly threw a curve ball out of no where with this one! I really, really enjoyed this book.
