An intimate and odd collage of Surrealist Poetry by Scottt Raven word playing with expectations written using techniques like stream of consciousness, word association, multi-syllabic rhyme, letter personification and name punning that began during a creative writing workshop in 2001 at Rutgers University and continued once a year through 2015. Topics include colors, numbers, shapes, elements, sauces, amusement park rides, celebrity deaths and stand-up comedians. Certain poems are for mature audiences only. Most poems were written without thinking and all poems require thought.

He appeared in a live reading of Mark Z Danielewski's The Fifty Year Sword, productions of Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night and performed (an original version of) the Address to a Haggis at a Burn's Night for Diageo. Scottt wrote an original piece co-written for the Jack London Gala lauded by the Lasseter family and has penned poems for FIAT, Purina and the CDC.
As co-founder of a trio of spoken word artists, Mayhem Poets Scottt still performs from prisons to playgrounds in schools, theaters and colleges around the world.
He is looking to run additional storytelling series at libraries throughout Florida and lead intergenerational writing workshops between teens and senior citizens at assisted living facilities.
