Not usually my genre to read, but so pleased I did. This is very well written and easy to understand. A lovely romance story surrounding phantoms and ghosts in modern day. Lots of humour, a really enjoyable read. I recommend this book, it also ends on a cliff hanger aaaggghhh!!!! lol

What a breath of fresh air! In a genre filled with similar themed and writing style books, Ms. Muellers has dared to keep her own voice and individuality and owned it. Her debut novel, SECRET PHANTOM, not only has a twist on paranormal not normally seen but also has a bunch of characters, each with their own voice and personality. Honestly am worried if this particular writer has multiple personality disorder to be able to pull of so many different characters so flawlessly and that too in her debut. Kudus to Ms. Muellers for this achievement. It will take you to places high and far.

This is a story about a misfit, Talia. Talia is a nineteen year old sarcastic tomboy rebel who likes testing the boundaries. She has a great group of girlfriends; Nadine, Chris and Tina. Mostly we read about the friendship between men, the bro code etc. Here we meet this group of nerds, who are different yet oddly complement each other perfectly. They whine, bitch, cry & fight with each other when together but when it counts, really really really counts, they are there for each other through thick and thin, no questions asked. Who doesn’t wish for friends like those? Yet Talia is hiding a couple of secrets from them. Has been for years because each time she found herself trusting too much, she has been horribly betrayed and this secret might just land her in an asylum. That is, till one night, when two of her friends see her secret phantom, who has been stalking her and leaving her gifts. Next thing she knows, they are on a quest to figure the mystery out of this Phantom, only for a world they did not know off open to them along with an ancient evil and prophecy with Talia smack in the middle of it. Suddenly this tomboy rebel nerd is impossibly attracted to a man, an immortal Phantom at that, for the first time in her life. Her other secret, the voice in her head also steps forward to force her to accept her fears and take the first steps of building a relationship. In between, they find the truth of their origins and the real nature of her other half, the voice, Maya.

The whole cast of characters also includes an intelligent talking parrot, Jodie (you gotta love her), Arman (another sarcastic, blunt nerd and reluctant accomplice) and Alexander, the immortal Phantom (swoons). Love love love their interactions; the sarcasm, the wit and the touches of whimsy only to be smacked right back down to earth, left me with fits of laughter. Along this is the insecurity, longing, guilt, love and a betrayal that left me reeling especially since I was looking in the wrong direction all along. The suspense and twists will left me guessing and on the edge of the seat till the very end where Ms. Muellers left me, with my jaw hanging open thinking, “Hot damn! What happened next? You can’t just leave it at that. Gimme more!”

Yes there is a *CLIFFHANGER* in the end but not in the traditional sense. The story will continue on but you are also left with an HEA. Ms. Muellers has done an amazing job with all the vibrant characters and building the world they live in. The descriptions had me visualizing everything as I read this fast paced, rollercoaster of a story and the end it only left me craving for more. SECRET PHANTOM is a great debut, promising an amazing new dark series with unique storyline and characters. The ancient evil will leave you in shivers while the rest will leave you either wanting to smack them or kiss them, wishing you were right along them in the midst of all that action and adventure. I, for one, am anxiously waiting for what happens next in this world; with Talia and her friends. Ms. Muellers has places to go and we need to be on this journey with her before the rest of the world discovers so you need to read this ASAP.

Hey, you! Check this book out, you won't be disappointed!

Let me start by saying that Sarah Muellers out did herself with her debut book and I cannot wait for the next!

This book is so very balanced, there is humor, sarcasm, suspense and a touch of love that keeps you on your toes awaiting what has yet to come. The characters were very well developed and the story is simply amazing! **WARNING THERE IS A CLIFFHANGER** and for someone like me who hates them I really didn't mind because it left me desperately wanting and waiting for the next installment!

The sense of humour with the main character Talia really got me going, I love her wit!.... her group of friends Nessie, Chris, Tina and Nadine made me chuckle as their banter is sooooo funny at times...

Right getting a little carried away there... So glad I kept going as the story got so interesting as they explore history of the castle from 17th century... Not going to spoil it by saying anything else.

Its a paranormal with ghosts, corporeal beings with a little romance.... if that's something you like then I would suggest you to read this beauty where you meet Talia as she's a cracking character that I've come to adore...

There is one thing... yep its does have a cliffhanger which I was forewarned so I expected it
