I've got spring fever now!! Chasing Tess has all of the elements that I love in a story. Tess is a dreamer, much like me. She has been visualizing, planning, and exerting her patience, waiting for her boyfriend of years now to graduate from law school, since he claims he can't even think of the future until after he's done. At his graduation party, he delivers some shocking news, which sends Tess running, to protect her heart.

I felt so sorry for Tess and could understand where she was coming from. I tend to overreact in situations and make rash decisions and Tess is quick to jump to conclusions and wonder where she went wrong. I love the way the story is told, with conflict and emotion. I felt a connection to Tess and her story.

One of my favorite things about these anthologies is that I can sit down and devour a satisfying story in one sitting, spacing them out over a few days, or I can read them all fairly quickly. Chasing Tess is a tasty little morsel. I thought the story was developed well and wrapped up quite well for being a novella. I always look forward to what these authors will write next!

Content: mild romance. Clean!

Here's another one of Annette Lyon's romance novellas released on it's own after being in one of the collections.

This is a cute, clean, quick read about Tess. She's been patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for James to finally graduate from law school so that they could get married. But on the night that she thinks he's finally going to propose, he instead announces that he's going to be taking an internship clear across the country. Tess is furious and decides that she's done waiting for James. So, she leaves the party, heads home and packs her bags for her own move. Heading to the beach to live with her mom and forget James and the mistakes that she's made while waiting for him. But James is not quite as stupid as he appears and realizes that he needs to make some changes and win Tess back - and fast!

I liked that story of this one. It reminds me of a catchy country song that I liked a few years ago. I liked that the story is clean, cute and it's a quick read if you just need an escape for a few hours one day.

I was sent an e-copy of this novella in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great hour or two read when you only have a little bit of time to read. I enjoyed reading this novella, but not as much as Annette Lyon's other novels.

Annette cleverly kept James POV until later, so the twist is somewhat a surprise given the foreshadowing.

I liked the characters. I wonder if Tess was a bit too hasty in her big decision to fit the plot more than if she would have waited longer, IMO.

3.75 stars. Quick, fun story about a sweet girl, Tess who's been patiently waiting for her boyfriend to finish law school to get married. He's finally graduated and has a big announcement. This is when things go horribly awry. I was really curious where this was going to go, since the boyfriend seems like such a jerk. It was a fast, quick resolution, but still cute.

Chasing Tess was so engrossing, I read it in a very short sitting. I absolutely loved all of it. I love to see a man chase the woman he loves and for him to admit what he is losing if he let her get away. This story pulled my heart strings and I loved it from start to finish!

Cute, quick read. I wish it was a bit longer because half the time I was thinking Tess was an overreacting, drama queen. Lol. But it was a fun read. :)
