The characters are there but I don’t feel like their personalities have been expanded on or fleshed anymore since the last books. They are just there seemingly to move the story along. The story is good, but compared to the other three where you never knew what would happen next I foresaw each plot point unfolding long before they actually happened. Lots of giveaways. Too much build up. The book is too convoluted it could be 25% shorter. Probably won’t bother reading the others after this. Fair enough for continuing the series with a new writer but it’s definitely not the same.
The Millennium trilogy was brilliant. There in lies the high expectations that I had for this book. My first thought was to give a three star review, then thought to increase it to four. I would give five stars if only my expectations were not set so high in the first place. It is a good book and well written with great depth. I think that I was more impressed with the trilogy than this sequel.

Although this was not written by the original author of the series - this author has continued with the story of Lisbeth Salander and Blomkvist in a respectful way and has kept true to the original characters. I was pleased with how this book read from beginning to end.
I didn't read it, I listened to the Audible version, but it was gripping, so much so I've now purchased the rest in the series. Great if you like a mixture of politics, crime, computer hacking etc. Was so real and made me wonder if something like this is happening!
