Mid World

It is Talis' third birthday when she goes with her sisters to the old mill near her house. Her sisters are playing on an old water wheel, the bottom of which is buried in a formerly dry creek bed. Because of constant rains that summer the ground is soft and the wheel turns, sucking her sisters underground. No one believes Talis' version of the story. Five years pass, she returns to the mill to find a locket containing a message from her older sister. Again, her story is not deemed credible. Using her father's magic ring, she takes matters into her own hands and goes undrground in search of her sisters. While in this new world the ring grows into her flesh, slowly imparting its power into Talis. The world beneath the ground is in a strife in a good versus evil conflict in which Talis becomes embroiled during her search for her sisters.
