His credits run the gamut from Superman to Star Wars to Scooby-Doo, and from Clive Barker’s Hellraiser to Looney Tunes. His comics for kids have won a Comics Buyer’s Guide Fan Award, and been nominated for an Eisner Award and two Diamond gem awards, while several of his stories for older readers were included in the #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novels Action Comics.
A fun jump back to my childhood due to all Scooby comics being free right now through DC Comics. The mash-ups were entertaining and intertwined the characters well.
Scooby-Doo and the gang team up with Batman and Robin - there was no way this comic was going to suck! The two franchises get together to solve the case of the Man-Bat and the recent thefts, or is it Kirk behind it all? Really fun all-ages book with terrific art from Dario Brizuela, who brings back the classic Batman and Robin outfits. Read the full review here!
Scooby-Doo where are you? I know; Scooby and the Mystery Inc. gang are at it again solving mysterious, but this time with the help of popular DC Comics Superheroes like Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, and the Teen Titans.
I must confess that I am a huge Scooby-Doo fan. So, when I picked up this book and saw that it retains the fun and charm of the late 1960s and early 1970s television shows and cartoons I was delighted. Add in the cartoon campiness of the 1970s and early 1980s Super Friends cartoon and this is a winning combination. However, the stories also delve in the current cartoon and comic book with jokes and characters from the Teen Titans.
The art style is in a colorful cartoony style perfectly matching the television shows they are based on. So, what age range is the main audience of this book? Everyone! The younger readers will love the art style and sight gags while the older reader will chuckle with the many references to the old television shows. I could hear Adam West and Burt Ward's voices in my head when I was reading this book.
This was surprisingly quick. I did think it was funny when Fred mentioned how there was a time when it felt like they were teaming up with someone new every week.
When I was a kid I was obsessed with scooby-doo, I had the shoes, shirts, toys, books, movies, and shows. Comics appeal to all different ages and are very easy for kids to get hooked and want to read the whole series in a day. This one in particular was the basic mystery where a problem arises, they need to make a plan to find clues, and in the end they find out who the monster really was; in this volume they team up with batman and robin which adds a fun twist. Like most commons this had bright colors and a lot going one, like watching an episode of scooby -doo.
For the kids and the kids at heart, this is an excellent read. We have a subscription to Team Up and Teen Titans Go, and It's nice to see my son get excited when they show up in the mailbox. I also like doing the voices!
Une courte lecture très plaisante avec une bonne touche d’humour. Les deux univers s’entremêlent de façon amusante. De plus, Batman a retrouvé son vieux costume.
