Kodiak Commune #1

Lured to the Bear Commune Part One

Rate this book
Miranda Zane has never been ashamed of her size. But now, even though she’s graduating at the top of her nursing class, anti-fat attitudes are affecting her job prospects. In a moment of weakness, she decides to investigate weight-loss options. Her best friend Samantha has found a promising an all-expenses-paid, year-long study in Alaska … at a commune full of hot lumberjacks. That sounds intriguing, to say the least. But Miranda forgets all about lumberjacks when she sees the doctors in charge of the study. No-nonsense Carver Rockwell, with his tattoos, beard, and brown eyes dark as pools of water on a moonless night … and Andrei Fedorov, whose permanently wicked smile hints at the depths beneath his polished surface. Miranda’s more than willing to go to Alaska if it means more time with the hot doctors--especially since Sam qualifies too, so the besties can go together. But once they arrive, Miranda learns there’s far more to the study than she was told. And for her part, she hasn’t been completely honest with the men, either. Will their mutual deceptions destroy their deepening attraction? Or will this very big girl find happiness with not one, but two gorgeous men who are far more than they appear? ***This bear shifter romance is the first story in the Kodiak Commune serial. It is NOT a full story and contains a Cliffhanger. Stories should be read in order*** Part Two available

Only an intro to the book. Since the author couldn't be bothered to proofread (lots of typos and misspellings), I can't be bothered to purchase any more of the story.

Seriously bad. Any doctor conducting medical research in this manner would be struck from the medical register and here we have two of them. Plus, in this first book, there is an awful lot of fat-shaming. I presume that this changes in subsequent books but I disliked that Miranda was made into the butt of the joke and that she had absolutely no confidence, despite her extraordinary academic ability.
Additionally, this is not the whole story but is barely an introduction, and no, I will not be paying to read the rest of the books.

Beware: Cliffhanger

This is apparently one scene plus build up from a longer novel. It is not badly written but I don't think anyone read it who writes well. Just in these few pages there were several mischosen homophones, use of an adjective instead of an adverb and an incomplete sentence.

It certainly didn't inspire me to spend money on the rest of the story.

This was read able.

I didn't like how it started. The reaction to someone's misfortune didn't seem like how adults would react. But it was readable and I want to know how the story progresses.

I need more!!!

This was fantastic!! Sam was the most amazing person ever, and I can’t wait for what happens in Alaska. Miranda was a little whiny and got on my nerves some, but I forgave her. On my way to get book two now!

Teaser

Only part 1. Not a full book. I hate it when authors do that! Good beginning, but not interested in reading a few chapters at a time.

No hea

This is a lead in to a series. The main character has a hard time from page 1. But things are looking up on the last page.

I liked it, but I honestly hate when authors release a book in parts. Just write the damn thing, set a decent price and let us read it all at once. I saw the second part is $2.99 on B&N. Sorry, 60 pages isn't worth $3. No matter how good the story is.

So while this was well written, I won't get to find out the rest of the story sadly.

Part 1

This story is only part one, and definitely leaves you with a cliff hanger and wanting more. The story line is " so far so good".
